Chapter 3: First Target
Luo Yang slowly finished his meal, savoring the last bite of the roasted Flame Rabbit and taking one final sip of the chilled Golden Leaf Wine. The warmth in his chest lingered, gently circulating through his meridians, slowly nourishing his dragon-aligned physique.
Just as he set down his cup, the waiter returned with a polite smile.
"I hope the meal was to your satisfaction, young master."
Without a word, Luo Yang reached into his storage pouch and pulled out a shimmering mid-grade spirit stone. He placed it gently on the tray.
The waiter froze.
His eyes widened as he looked at the spirit stone, then back at Luo Yang. For a brief moment, his hands trembled.
"T-This… this is a mid-grade spirit stone…" he stammered.
In this world, spirit stones were not just currency—they were cultivation resources. They came in three common grades: low, mid, and high. But calling them "common" was misleading. While low-grade spirit stones were sometimes used in trade or basic cultivation, mid-grade stones were rare treasures, used only by powerful cultivators or wealthy sects. As for high-grade spirit stones—they were legendary in value and rarely seen in public.
Even in Dragon Feng City, where cultivators gathered like clouds, a mid-grade spirit stone was a rare sight.
The waiter hesitated, confused and overwhelmed. "Y-Young master, this meal only costs five low-grade spirit stones… this is too much. I-I can't accept—"
Luo Yang raised a hand to stop him. "Keep it."
The waiter blinked. "S-Sir… I…"
Luo Yang offered a faint smile. "In exchange, I just want a bit of information. Sit for a moment and answer some of my questions. That should make it worth your while, right?"
The waiter's eyes lit up. His monthly salary was barely ten low-grade spirit stones. This one tip was worth ten times that. How could he refuse? Beside he is not first person to do something like sprit stone in exchange of information.
He sat down eagerly, glancing around to make sure no one important was watching. "Of course, young master. What would you like to know?"
Luo Yang leaned forward slightly. "Tell me—what's this city known for?"
The waiter immediately straightened his posture, his voice smooth and confident now. "Ah, I see. You must be new to Dragon Feng City, young master. From the way you dress, you must be from a prestigious family—perhaps from the capital?"
Luo Yang said nothing, but his faint smile deepened, letting the flattery pass.
"There are two things this city is most famous for," the waiter continued. "First—Red Feng Auction House. It is the largest and only true auction house within a thousand kilometers of here. Most treasures recovered from the Dragon Burial Mountain pass through its hands."
He lowered his voice slightly.
"The auction house has enormous wealth and terrifying background. No one dares to cause trouble there—not even powerful sects. If something rare or ancient appears, it's probably going to be sold through Red Feng."
Luo Yang nodded slowly. "That does sound useful. And the second?"
At this, the waiter leaned in further, his voice dropping to a hush.
"The second… is the Red Witch of the Red Feng Sect."
Luo Yang raised an eyebrow. The name sounded like something from a novel. "Red Feng Sect? I've heard the name. A local power?"
"Yes," the waiter said, lowering his voice even more. "One of the major sects in the region. But it's not the sect that everyone talks about—it's their leader."
Luo Yang's curiosity was piqued. "This… Red Witch. Who is she?"
"Her real name is Jiu You," the waiter whispered. "But almost no one dares to say it casually. Everyone calls her the Red Witch—not out of disrespect, but fear."
He paused, glancing around to ensure no one was listening.
"She's said to be devastatingly beautiful—a charm that can steal your soul, they say. But don't let that fool you. She's not some flower vase. She's one of the strongest cultivators in this entire region. A Peak Golden Core Realm expert."
Luo Yang's expression sharpened. Golden Core Realm was a major threshold in cultivation. Anyone who reached that level was considered a powerhouse—capable of razing buildings with a wave of their hand.
"Beautiful and dangerous, huh?" Luo Yang muttered.
"She is… extremely dominant," the waiter said with a nervous chuckle. "Rumors say she crushed an invading sect leader's cultivation just for calling her pretty in public. Another said she had killed her husband, previews sect leader and refine in human pill and become this powerful."
Luo Yang leaned back. The cultivation world, as expected, was filled with monsters in human skin.
"Red Witch… Jiu You…" Luo Yang repeated mentally.
"Interesting," the System said lazily in his mind. "A woman like her would be... valuable. Peak Golden Core, powerful cultivation, almost two realm higher than you. It would be perfect Refine stage of Yin Furnace."
Luo Yang said quickly, rolling his eyes. "Are you only thinking about this topic, at least know more about her."
"Because you have not taste yet, feeling of power and body__ specially this cultivation world beauties." The system chuckled, clearly amused ,''And she is also not some kind of soft petal, what to wait.''
Luo Yang ignore system thoughts and listen to the waiter ,''Tell me all about this Red Witch and her sect."
