Chapter 026 – Sea Conflict 1
After spending some time at home, she adjusted well to the routine. During the day, she experimented with cooking, played with her dog, and sketched clothing designs when inspiration struck. Sometimes, she even took afternoon naps and practiced her skills at night. Life was idyllic, facing the sea with spring blossoming around her.
Da Linzi couldn't stand being idle for long. Confirming that she wouldn't be going out again, he took the Poseidon and left, saying he was going squid fishing with Da Qi. Zhao Zhao reminded him to drive slowly in the near sea, but before noon, she was informed that they had an accident at sea.
When she received the call from Secretary Liu, her body went numb at the words, "Da Linzi had an accident at sea!" It took her a moment to comprehend that he wasn't seriously injured before she could breathe again.
It turned out that a fisherman who knew Secretary Liu had encountered them at sea and called to inform him. Da Linzi and Da Qi had a conflict with a group of rich kids on a yacht, which led to a fight. The passing fisherman recognized them as from Jinshi Island and notified Secretary Liu.
Zhao Zhao hung up and ran to the beach. Since Da Linzi had taken the Poseidon, there was no fast boat in the village, and going to the pier was useless. She jumped into the water from the beach in front of the guesthouse and released the orca, Siren.
Fortunately, she hadn't been out to sea recently, so Siren was still in the Yaoguang Realm. The orca's skin was slippery, but Zhao Zhao could sit steadily on it. With the water element root cultivated from the Boundless Sea Technique, she could reduce water resistance, riding the waves to speed Siren up.
With Yaoguang's guidance, she rode the orca towards the open sea. If a marine biologist had seen this, they would have been astounded. Siren's speed far exceeded their understanding, moving like a missile skimming the sea. Within ten minutes, she saw several boats gathered ahead.
On the deck of a luxurious yacht, people were pushing and pulling. Seeing her approach, everyone paused.
"Look over there! Damn! Is that a person? What's she riding?"
"An orca?"
"Damn, is she Poseidon?"
In a flash, a beautiful girl in a vintage green dress on an orca arrived. Her pale face, delicate features, and black hair styled with a jade hairpin gave her a cold and stern expression. A giant parrot over a meter tall perched on her shoulder.
Could a human command a wild orca, the apex predator of the ocean? This wasn't a water park. Jiang Jianzhu, who was dragging Da Qi, instinctively let go and stepped back.
Was she human or ghost?
Zhao Zhao scanned the yacht's deck. There were over a dozen people. The fight seemed to be over. A fisherman was bandaging Da Linzi's leg. Although he looked battered and bleeding, he wasn't critically injured, so she relaxed.
As Siren approached the yacht, she stood up and leapt onto the deck. Jiang Jianzhu instinctively looked at her feet. She wore C-brand classic woven sandals under her long skirt. Okay, she was human.
"Sis!"
"Sister Zhao Zhao!"
Da Linzi seemed a bit guilty, calling her sister for the first time. On the deck were three men and two women, likely from the yacht, and four fishermen, probably friends of Secretary Liu. Two water skis floated in the sea, with two iron fishing boats blocking the yacht. The Poseidon was still far away.
Her dramatic entrance left everyone stunned and silent.
"What happened? Who hurt my brother like this?" Zhao Zhao asked calmly.
Da Linzi's guilt vanished, replaced by anger. "Zhao Zhao, they tried to kill me!"
"Explain in detail," she demanded coldly.
A chubby man with a bloody nose grumbled, "Don't slander us, you damn fisherman. You're just trying to blackmail us!"
The man stood a short distance from Zhao Zhao. Without moving her feet, she swung her hand, sending him flying off the yacht with a splash, creating a huge wave.
"Did I let you speak?" she said calmly.
The remaining two rich kids exchanged glances, realizing she was a martial arts master. The fat man floundered in the water, screaming about the orca.
"Da Linzi, tell me," she instructed.
Da Linzi recounted, "We were diving here for a while, surfaced a bit far from the boat. Their yacht came at us from behind. If I hadn't dodged quickly, I'd be dead, not just with a cut on my leg! But it wasn't just that. These water skiers saw the blood and feared trouble if I survived. I heard one say we should hit me again to make sure I was dead. Da Qi surfaced later and heard it too."
Da Qi nodded vigorously. "That fat guy said, 'Is he dead?' Someone replied, 'Better if he's dead, let's hit him again.' After they stopped, they reversed the yacht to hit him again. I heard it clearly!"
After gathering the story and confirming it with the passing fishermen, Zhao Zhao understood the situation.
The rich kids had been water skiing nearby. Their driver, distracted, hit Da Linzi. Da Linzi, fortunately agile, avoided death but got a deep cut on his leg. The skiers saw the blood and panicked, thinking it was better if he was dead to avoid trouble. They planned to hit him again, but Da Qi and Da Linzi fought back. Although outnumbered, the tough fishermen held their own against the pampered rich kids. Passing fishermen recognized them and called Secretary Liu for help but didn't want to get involved with the rich kids, only trying to mediate.
Zhao Zhao knew the saying, "Better to hit and kill than to injure," understanding these rich kids' mentality. Injuries caused more trouble than death, and they could afford the financial compensation.
She assessed the situation. Reporting to the police wouldn't do much. Da Linzi's injuries were minor, and they had fought back. Even with injuries, the rich kids could easily avoid severe consequences. They likely had wealth and influence.
Making a decision, she turned to the helpful fishermen, thanking them, "Thank you for your help. We'll handle it from here. My brother will visit to thank you properly once he's recovered."
An older fisherman advised, "Shouldn't you call the police? How can you kids handle this? Don't cause more trouble."
"Don't worry, sir. We'll settle this at sea. Please go on your way," she insisted.
Seeing her determination, the fishermen left.
