I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 75: Let's Wait and See!

Just as Dong Zhang stepped forward to engage in a duel with Brock Rumlow, the agents suddenly raised their guns, aiming at Dong Zhang and the fighters behind him.

As the head of security and an enforcer of violence, Brock Rumlow's personality was completely different from Coulson's good-natured demeanor. His hand instinctively reached for the pistol at his waist, ready to retaliate with his weapon if Dong Zhang pushed him further.

The atmosphere grew tense in an instant, and it seemed that a fight could break out at any moment.

However, despite facing countless gun barrels, the fighters showed no signs of tension. Even Yuri Sakazaki, a definite rookie, looked eager to fight.

At the front, Dong Zhang grinned widely, revealing eight big teeth, and gave a mocking snort at Brock Rumlow.

"Do you know what my favorite movie line is?"

Brock Rumlow frowned, his finger unconsciously touching the trigger of his pistol. "What do you want to say?"

"I want to say," Dong Zhang took a small step back, "I swore never to let anyone point a gun at my head again!"

Before the words even finished, Dong Zhang's whip-like kick shot out like a blur. Brock Rumlow had only half-drawn his pistol when a sharp pain struck his hand, sending the gun flying.

What he didn't see was that the pistol, mid-air, had already been twisted into a lump of scrap metal.

At the same time as Dong Zhang's kick, all the other fighters, except for Su Ye and Athena, turned into blurs as they charged forward, descending upon the agents like tigers in a flock of sheep.

In an instant, a chorus of agonized screams filled the air, and the entire ordeal lasted a full minute.

Within that minute, every agent, including Brock Rumlow, was lying on the ground. Their guns, from start to finish, were reduced to nothing more than fire pokers—none of them managed to fire a single shot.

Dong Zhang squatted down in front of the fallen Brock Rumlow and lightly patted his face.

"We could've just talked it out, but no, you had to pull a gun. Do you think having a gun makes you the boss? You interfere in everything, even when it's none of your business—heck, you even want to stick your nose into other people's family matters, huh?"

"Happy now? How does it feel to be taken down by force? Enjoying it?"

"If you dare mess with Brother Ye again or interfere in his family's business, you'll face even stronger retaliation. Don't believe me? Just wait and see!"

Brock Rumlow lay on the ground, speechless. Dozens of agents, armed to the teeth and highly trained, had been taken down by a few unarmed fighters. Even if he wanted to act tough, he couldn't get a single word out.

"Everyone, this might be a misunderstanding!"

At that moment, Phil Coulson finally stepped in. With his naturally kind face, he was perfect for the role of a peacemaker and mediator.

"This was all a big misunderstanding. Our agents were just observing the situation and had no intention of attacking you. However, we might have used the wrong tools, causing you trouble. I apologize on their behalf!"

"Also, for the damages to Mr. Su's dojo, we'll compensate you at full value. Any inconvenience caused will also be further compensated later. We hope Mr. Su won't refuse."

Throughout, Phil Coulson didn't mention whether the beaten agents needed compensation or an apology. Clearly, they were in the wrong in this situation.

If you're in the wrong, admit it; if you get beaten, take it standing!

"This attitude isn't bad—way better than those clueless old men and women."

Dong Zhang raised an eyebrow with a grin. "I think being an agent is beneath you. The government should put you in Congress, maybe make you a senator or even Speaker of the House!"

Su Ye waved his hand, signaling Dong Zhang to calm down and stop talking before he went too far.

"Agent Coulson, we're old friends. There's no need to apologize too much. I understand your work is unique, and your people tend to be a bit sensitive."

Su Ye paused, and just as Phil Coulson was about to say, "Thanks for understanding," Su Ye continued speaking.

"But as for the compensation, you'd better handle that quickly. After all, this is a society governed by law, and we value contractual spirit. Once something's been promised, you can't easily go back on it, right?"

"..." Coulson was momentarily speechless.

The last time they used the dojo, it was the same. They promised compensation and had to pay on the spot. This time, seeing Su Ye's determined gaze, Coulson felt that if he didn't transfer the money immediately, he might end up in the hospital for a few days under the excuse of "violating contractual spirit."

"I'll apply for it right away!" Coulson reluctantly pulled out his phone.

A few minutes later, Su Ye's phone buzzed with a notification of a sizable transfer to his account.

The fighters, all smiles, returned to the bar to continue their gathering. After the fight, everyone was hungry, and they felt they owed it to their stomachs to have some barbecue and a few skewers.

Soon, the street was left with only the still-melting ice on the walls and the incapacitated agents lying on the ground.

The only one still standing, Phil Coulson, quietly pulled out his phone. "Director, we need ambulances here. Also, please send more agents—I have a bad feeling about this..."

Though Phil Coulson had a kind and simple look, he wasn't just a bureaucratic yes-man. His vigilance and quick thinking were intact. And this bad feeling wasn't about the fighters but rather about the guy who almost froze the entire street.

The ice was still clinging to the walls. Who that guy was, where he had gone, and whether he'd return—all of it was unknown.

That rainbow bridge shooting into the sky just now—anyone in New York who wasn't blind would have seen it.

And as an experienced S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who had encountered aliens, Phil Coulson certainly wouldn't ignore this incident.

Therefore, while redeploying personnel to protect the researchers near the hammer, he prioritized strengthening security to deal with the potentially returning ice-wielding, suspected alien individual.

"Additionally, we've identified a dangerous individual, temporarily classified as Level A threat. Likely an alien, temporary codename: Rainbow Traveler, capable of freezing an entire block in seconds."

At the same time, in Los Angeles, Thor paused his hammering and looked eastward. "I think I sensed something."

Jane Foster pulled the blanket over her blushing face and mumbled, "It's… from that palace..."
