I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 74: Loki Escapes, S.H.I.E.L.D. Arrives

In the midst of Su Ye's powerful energy attack, Loki was sent flying into the sky. His attempt to wield the Casket of Ancient Winters and unleash its icy blast was interrupted. The spreading frost slowly came to a halt.

Su Ye, not one to let up, prepared a follow-up move: a devastating flying kick dubbed the "Ultra Split Bomb."

Since he had the upper hand, he aimed to go all out and finish the job. Once you've gained the advantage, you must press on and vanquish the foe, as the saying goes: "Strike while the iron is hot!"

But Loki, still midair, decided to break the pattern. With a piercing scream, he called out:

"Heimdall!"

Boom!

Before the words fully left his lips, a radiant rainbow beam descended, enveloping Loki. Su Ye had no choice but to halt his attack and retreat from the light's range.

Clearly, this was the Bifrost, leading back to Asgard. Su Ye had no intention of stepping into enemy territory unprepared.

That was Loki's domain now—going there would be a one-way trip, like throwing a bone to a dog.

Pulling the confused Terry aside, Su Ye regrouped with the other returning fighters. They stood at a safe distance, watching the Bifrost's colorful spectacle piercing the sky.

"What's this?" someone in the crowd asked.

Su Ye remained silent. This wasn't the time to play the all-knowing sage. Naming the Bifrost might raise questions he couldn't easily explain.

Fortunately, Athena stepped in to clarify.

"This seems like a form of teleportation. The other end likely leads to a distant place, perhaps not even on Earth. That guy just now could very well be an alien."

"Alien!"

Everyone perked up immediately. Aliens had always been a popular topic in literature and movies, but their existence had never been scientifically proven.

Now, they had witnessed one—and even fought him!

Joe Higashi and Ryo Sakazaki looked down at their own hands and feet in awe, as if seeing pure gold.

"We… just fought an alien? These hands and feet punched an alien!"

It was like a die-hard fan meeting their idol and vowing never to wash their hands again. Only now, aliens far surpassed any celebrity.

"Why not cut off your hands and feet, package them up, and sell them?" Su Ye joked.

The two quickly sobered up. "No need! No need! Next time that alien shows up, we'll capture him and sell him. He'll be worth more."

"Right, but we'll need Athena's help to deal with his invisibility tricks."

"Of course. We'll split the profits with Athena then."

The two agreed quickly and were about to head back for drinks. But just then, a group of men in black suits, armed with guns, surrounded them.

"What just happened here?"

The speaker was a burly man… or at least he seemed so compared to the fighters.

Compared to the shirtless Joe Higashi and Ryo Sakazaki, whose martial arts uniforms were wide open at the chest, the men in black were utterly outclassed.

The man who spoke was someone Su Ye recognized. Though he couldn't recall his name, he knew this guy had appeared in Wolf Warrior 2 and had played Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War, nearly taking down Captain America with a suicide explosion.

Oh, and he was also a long-standing Hydra member.

"I'm Brock Rumlow, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Rumlow introduced himself, possibly because he sensed the formidable aura from Su Ye's group and wanted to avoid unnecessary conflict. It also saved Su Ye the trouble of remembering his name.

Rumlow was in charge of security for the research team near the Shiranui Dojo. Although his men hadn't seen the entire battle, they had witnessed enough from afar to know that the fighters in front of them were incredibly powerful.

His tone wasn't overly aggressive, and neither he nor his agents pointed their guns directly at anyone. The weapons were held low, merely a precaution.

Still, Su Ye felt a faint sense of danger. He glanced into the distance and, with his spider-enhanced vision, spotted a short, stocky man crouching on the rooftop of the Shiranui Dojo. The man held a bow, aiming an arrow in their direction.

That had to be Hawkeye, Clint Barton.

In S.H.I.E.L.D., only one person was known for expert marksmanship with a bow.

Being targeted by a sniper, even if it was Hawkeye—a founding Avenger—wasn't something Su Ye could tolerate.

A founding Avenger without a solo movie? How dare he aim an arrow at me? Who gave him the courage?

Su Ye almost launched a web shot at Barton's face, but held back. His current identity as a fighter meant he couldn't risk exposing his Spider-Man powers.

Instead, he charged up a "Gale Fist" and hurled it in Barton's direction.

Boom!

A section of the dojo roof collapsed, forcing Barton to leap off the building to evade the attack.

Finally, with no one aiming at him, Su Ye felt a sense of satisfaction.

"Sir, please refrain from such aggressive actions to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings."

Rumlow's tone was calm but firm, bordering on a warning.

Before Su Ye could respond, Joe and Terry stepped forward, their muscles practically pressing against Rumlow.

"What do you mean, 'unprovoked attack'? That's Shiranui Dojo, Su Ye's home. He wouldn't attack for no reason. Maybe you should check your own team's actions first!"

"So what if you're S.H.I.E.L.D.? Does that give you the right to point guns at law-abiding citizens? We just fended off an alien attack and saved the Earth. We're heroes!"

"East Lord doesn't tolerate this crap. Go ahead, let your flunkies shoot. Let's see if their bullets are faster than my fists!"
