I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time!

For several minutes, twenty people carefully examined one another, trying to be at least somewhat prepared and get a rough idea of each other's fighting styles. Then a loud voice rang out, echoing across the entire arena:

"Another great battle is about to begin! Welcome, everyone. Today is a significant day, as Duke Frinz has arrived in the Unified Capital, and a major battle has been arranged with a very unusual prize!" The man pulled out a beautifully decorated pillow and slowly removed a red cloth, revealing to the world ten small purple crystals!

"These unusual gemstones were obtained from very strange creatures, also known as: Distorted creatures. They are very beautiful and can be crafted into many sparkling jewels. But their main feature is that they can be used to enhance one's body..."

"There are ten of them in total, and to obtain one, you must kill two people! In fact, to pass, you also have to kill two people. So by the end of the battle, only five people will remain in the arena!"

Some of the prisoners looked at not only their opponents with clear tension in their eyes but also at the purple crystals prepared for the victors!

"Those are Low Soul Shards..." Lin closely examined the pillow with ten purple crystals and recognized them as the very Soul Shards that drop from Distorted creatures.

This wasn't unexpected news for Lin, as he had previously heard that Low Soul Shards could be given to prisoners as rewards — or as they were called here: "purple crystals."

It was just that this was the first time a Low Soul Shard had been offered as a reward in a battle in which he was participating.

"To pass the battle, you have to kill two people... And for two kills, you get Low Soul Shards... That's actually not bad, since you can kill the craziest ones here and then sit back and do nothing. Of course, you still have to defend yourself."

Lin shook his head and slowly prepared to receive a barrage of attacks, as he saw that many prisoners were looking at him with murderous intent.

"Since everything is ready, the battle officially begins!" the man announced the start of the battle!

After the announcement, the whole arena erupted into chaos!

Several prisoners immediately rushed toward others!

But Lin and a few other interesting individuals stayed in their places, as if waiting for the prey to come to them.

Unfortunately for him, Lin didn't get to see any interesting fights with those people, as no one ran toward their side. It was as if no one in this arena wanted to deal with them, depriving Lin of the opportunity to observe their approximate abilities.

"Void!!!" a loud shout echoed.

Lin looked to his left and saw a two-meter-tall muscular man running at him with two axes in hand!

"Void! I've always wanted to fight you! The rumors about you are like legends of a great killer. Let's see how true they are!"

Naturally, this thunderous roar drew everyone's attention. All eyes turned toward the shout, and they saw that a fight between the large man and Lin was about to begin!

"This will be interesting to watch..." said a man with a two-meter sword, smiling at the upcoming battle.

"Void, die!" the tall man suddenly spun around and pointed both axes at Lin!

Whoosh!

The two axes sliced through the air, but Lin successfully dodged to the side, not wanting to engage the axes directly!

The man snorted coldly and made another spin with the axes in hand, aiming them at Lin!

Whoosh!

Lin once again dodged the axes, avoiding direct confrontation.

The man showed rage on his face and spun once more, trying to slice Lin into pieces. But this time, instead of swinging the axes, he threw one of them straight at Lin's head!

Whoosh!

Clang!

"Damn!" Lin managed to react instantly and parried the thrown axe, but the force behind the throw was insane!

"The power of the throw is just terrifying! It felt like a giant boulder was dropped on me," Lin barely managed to hold his ground and looked at the man, who now had only one axe.

"Don't underestimate them... This man's strength alone is many times greater than that of everyone I've fought before..."

"Ha-ha-ha-ha! You should've seen your face — Void! How do you like my strength? Terrifying, isn't it?!" the man grinned widely, showing his yellow teeth, and rushed at Lin!

Lin met the man's axe and looked him straight in the eyes, suddenly raising his right leg and striking the man in the side of his torso!

Bam!

Lin's leg hit the man as if it had struck a huge boulder, instantly going numb!

"Ha-ha-ha! What a pathetic attempt! Just die, Void!" the man laughed loudly, putting a massive amount of force into his axe and pressing it down on Lin's katana!

Bam!

Lin decided to dodge to the side, causing the axe to crash into the sandy surface with immense force, scattering sand everywhere and creating a small crater!

Lin quickly pointed the sharp edge of his blade at the man's head and lifted it!

"That's Void? Isn't he too weak?" came a sharp voice near Lin.

Bam!

Lin felt a sharp pain in his stomach, as if he had been hit by a massive iron statue. He was instantly thrown backward along with his katana!

Whoosh!

Bam!

Lin flew dozens of meters in a second before crashing into a stone wall, creating a spiderweb of cracks several meters wide around him.

"Aah... Damn... That's the hardest I've ever been hit..." Lin spat a large amount of blood onto his cast-iron mask and slowly fell to the sand, continuing to cough.

"Ha-ha. Brother, Gary. This Void turned out to be a weakling," said a young guy next to the man.

Gary looked at his younger brother and snorted.

"Don't use that much power for a single hit. You need to understand that a fight isn't a place for such hasty actions. A battle must be felt in order to grow. If you keep doing that, you'll die faster."

The young guy rolled his eyes at his brother's scolding. He looked at Lin, who was slowly getting to his feet, and said:

"Void doesn't seem like the person they describe... He's too weak."

The man shook his head and slowly picked up his second axe from the sand, saying:

"No. Void is strong... He just hasn't revealed his strength yet."

"Hm? So, the way he fought with you just now — that was just a warm-up?"

The man nodded and said nothing more.

Meanwhile, Lin slowly stood up and looked at the sky. He raised his katana and in an instant made a cut at his cast-iron mask, allowing all the accumulated blood to flow out.

"Ah... How unpleasant this is..." Lin looked at the two people approaching him.

A serious fight was coming.

Lin took a deep breath and opened his eyes — now as cold as ice.

His aura changed instantly!

He looked at the two people and waited for their attack.
