Ch. 153
Lin Nan was very curious about where exactly Lina had hidden Lilith's body. At least during Monday's class, he hadn't heard of any dorm or class having an extra student.
Maybe she rented an apartment off-campus for Lilith.
Since Lin Nan had also considered moving off-campus before, he roughly knew the rental prices. Generally, a single room with bathroom cost between 400 to 600 yuan. Lina could work as a tutor and definitely earned more money, so she probably didn't care much about this expense.
The poster assignment wasn't really that difficult. On Sunday, with his roommates' help, Lin Nan barely managed to create something passable.
As long as he could submit something, that was good enough.
During Monday's large lecture, Lin Nan curiously observed Lina sitting in another row while also trying to spot Liu Xuefei.
Liu Xuefei had completely accepted that he was a girl. He didn't know if she was a big mouth or not, he just hoped she wouldn't spread his business around everywhere.
"Nan Nan, want to team up with Big Dog for PUBG?"
Xiong Da had already slipped away yesterday, seemingly not caring about the consequences at all. His whole routine of skipping class and playing truant was smooth as flowing water.
This meant when playing PUBG, the dorm couldn't gather enough people, so they had to add Big Dog from the neighboring dorm.
Lin Nan nodded, then leaned forward slightly and quietly asked Tu Junhui: "What's Big Dog's name again?"
"Zheng Xiang."
Mm, that sounded familiar. So that was Big Dog.
Nicknames were used so often in daily communication that Lin Nan had long forgotten Big Dog's real name. After thinking about it for a while, he felt that the name Zheng Xiang didn't sound very nice either—the nickname Big Dog was actually more catchy.
He didn't usually play mobile games much, only playing a couple rounds with his roommates during class for entertainment. Mobile PUBG was especially hard to adapt to with its controls. Even with his enhanced reaction passive magic, he was still terribly bad at it.
The group bowed their heads playing on their phones while the teacher on stage didn't pay much attention, methodically giving his lecture while mentally noting the students who were seriously attending class. At the end of the semester, these students' behavior scores would usually be higher.
Lin Nan's game was only halfway through when he suddenly heard Lina's voice echoing from deep within his mind: "The soul magic research is going very smoothly. It should be completed in about a month."
"Let's wait until near the holidays then." Having experienced this once before, Lin Nan wasn't surprised and continued to ask: "Why did you knock me unconscious that day?"
This telepathy-like magic was quite useful.
"I wanted to extract Lilith's already awakened soul from your body."
"And then?" Lin Nan's eyes lit up as he excitedly pressed for more.
"It failed."
Well, he had thought that feeling like something was missing from his head that day was the sensation of Lilith leaving.
"But now her influence on you will be much less. Otherwise, I was afraid you'd become another Lilith before I finished researching soul magic."
"How is that possible?"
Although he said this, Lin Nan was also quite worried.
Even if Lilith wasn't resurrecting through his body, if he became another Lilith, that would be completely unacceptable.
After communicating with Lina in his mind for a while, when he came back to his senses, Lin Nan discovered his game character had been dead for who knows how long, so he simply lay down on the desk.
Since Lilith's influence on him had decreased now, why did he still have signs of being addicted to stimulating behavior?
And he still felt envious when seeing pretty girls on the street, and couldn't look away when seeing beautiful women's clothing...
Weren't these behaviors and thoughts Lilith's problem?
Lin Nan was completely puzzled but absolutely refused to admit these were his true thoughts.
Finally making it to the end of class, Lin Nan stretched and prepared to get up, but was suddenly stimulated by the feeling of his clothes lifting up and rubbing against his chest, making his face flush and heart race.
"Let's go."
Chen Yao had already gotten up, but when he turned around, he saw Lin Nan silently sit back down: "What's wrong? If you don't go to the cafeteria now, you won't get any food."
"It's nothing." Lin Nan carefully got up and followed behind his roommate.
That feeling... was like suddenly getting an electric shock, making his heart race.
Lin Nan had occasionally encountered similar situations before, but before today, he'd never felt that such simple friction could be so mentally stimulating.
Maybe he really should buy a bra?
But living in the dorm, whether washing or anything else, it would be very hard to hide. There was almost no privacy in the dorm. It looked like he could only continue enduring it.
Lin Nan sighed lightly and followed Chen Yao's steps into the cafeteria, while Tu Junhui had already ordered takeout and parted ways with them to return to the dorm first.
Whenever classes ended at noon or evening, the university cafeteria was like a horde of zombies had entered—everyone competing to squeeze toward the counters. Lin Nan used to be one of them, but as his body became increasingly feminine, he grew more and more averse to crowds.
Now he could only choose those windows that almost no one patronized to buy lunch. The reason these windows had so few customers during meal time was usually because the food tasted terrible.
"I'll buy food for you. Wait here for me."
Chen Yao knew about Lin Nan's physical condition and voluntarily squeezed toward the window.
Lin Nan had nothing to do and was about to play on his phone when he suddenly sensed a gaze. He looked up abruptly and discovered it was that underclassman.
This underclassman, for some reason, gave him the illusion of being stalked—it seemed like he could be encountered anywhere.
"Senior, there's a part-time job this Tuesday afternoon. Will you do it?" The underclassman smiled and approached. "There's a newly opened cat café that's having an opening event Tuesday afternoon. They're worried about not having enough waitstaff, so they want some part-timers."
"Oh?" Lin Nan was immediately interested. "How much?"
"One afternoon plus one evening, 300 yuan?"
"That much?!" Lin Nan asked in amazement. "That's not very likely, is it? It's just part-time waitstaff."
The underclassman smiled and explained: "Because the evening counts as overtime."
The underclassman's refined and scholarly appearance made it hard for Lin Nan to suspect he was lying. Without much consideration, he was about to nod, but Chen Yao, who had just left not long ago, suddenly interjected: "You mean that coffee shop behind the school's back gate?"
"Yes, senior, you know it?"
Lin Nan looked toward Chen Yao. This guy wasn't carrying any lunch either—he'd clearly gone to queue up, so why had he mysteriously doubled back?
"That's a maid café..." Chen Yao glared fiercely at the underclassman.
"Isn't that even better?" The underclassman adjusted his glasses, still smiling politely.
Chen Yao was stunned for a moment, turned to look at Lin Nan's face, and was actually convinced.
It seemed... it really would be quite good?
"A maid café?" But Lin Nan shook his head frantically. "Forget it, forget it. Everyone's already overused this plot, okay? Isn't it way too cliché?"
Chen Yao looked completely disappointed.
