I created my own system

Giant black roots sprouts from the round trapping the beasts it could get. More tangled roots emerge from the ground along its giant thorns and grotesque appearance. From the roots its body began to form until it turn into a giant tower. A silent breathing can be heard and as if by instinct all the beasts stop and stare at the bud that slowly unfolds.

In the next second an inhuman cry was heard creating a path of blood for the enemy.

A flower bud sprout from the beastly plant, its colossal leaves and thorns began moving taking more beasts, and reducing into a puddle of blood.

An hysterical cry fell into the battlefield followed by the fall of large blackned petals. A deathly flower had bloom, revealing a gaping maw of line rows of sharp teeths. It began eating the nearby beasts. Anything it could each ends up being maw alive by the giant plant. Apollo watch it all he was leisurely leaning on the wall.

"This is so easy" he just said then suddenly the flower stop eating and began shooting beams for the incoming beasts that try to attack from afar. Flames rise up engulfing the beasts, on the othe hand Alicia wave her hand an the fire that endlessly torment those around it obeyed her will.

"This is the first I will see her use her strong affinity with fire" Apollo commented but then he was shocked as he witness how Alicia manipulated he flames and almost wipe out the entire horde.

"...."

There was silence between Apollo and Jeremiah, it lasted for a few seconds before Apollo summon his spear to attack.

The night went on but suddenly it went suffocating, the air suddenly shifted, cold and deathly. Snow fell like ash from a broken sky, and soon the ground was covered with snow. It buried the bodies, it buried the burned ground as if it never occurred.

And Apollo stood right at the top of the wall, observing the current situation.

"Here they come again"

From within the storm waves of magical beasts surged through the blizzard. Their forms blurred by snow, their screeches muffled by distance—but he could see their numbers increasing, like the previous assault never even happened. Even with the relentless slaughter, more came. An unnatural that seem to overflow endlessly

Jeremiah's voice echoed in his ear.

[Creator, I don't think this is normal, the statistics and estimation based on the population of this forest doesnt match the amount we are facing. Even if we didn't get thte data about some hibernating beasts it shouldn't be in this amount, they are just too many. The other places of the empire are also experiencing the same thing. While some areas had normal amount of attacks]

"I know, we did notice it before but for now lets study the surrounding"

[What do you plan to do?]

"I'm going in."

[Wait, do you mean inside the horde?]

"Yup, lets use clonis, that will make situation easier"

"Three of me will stay to defend the fortress. And one me should do the thing and investigate this never ending horde"

He then flicked his finger and as he jump down the wall his shadow suddenly multiply.

"What do you plan to do now?"

Apollo just smile and said

"Just a stroll"

Alicia just shook her head and immediately felt two more Apollo's hiding behind the shadows while the other one is moving quite fast into the forest.

One Apollo pushed forward, while those that remained transform into mechanical beast, slaughtering the new wave with no mercy.

[Creator dont get carried away remember you are a mechanical soldier you cant just rush like that, act like the rest]

"Yeah yeah I know"

He only reply while slashing one enemy after the other.

On the western flank, the first soldier Apollo raise his spear and create five Fire Lances, skewering the oncoming Dire Rhinos.

The Second one appeared right between two beast and immediately slash then to pieces, then he changed his weapon the way other mechanical soldiers. He took a rifle sniping enemies with gravity-infused bullets, each one exploding with implosive force. Meanwhile, the Apollo who stood right in front of the wall, just casually manipulated his spear to attack, Alicia on the other hand was manipulating the surrounding flames, using it to attack.

While the fight continues Alicia wass able to pinpoint a certain Apollo who is currently traveling right into the forest.

{Apollo, what are you planning to do?}

"I wanted to know why so much beasts are coming right us, there muts be a reason why we are experiencing such enormous amount of enemies," said Apollo still hidden by the power of space.

{Where are you right now?}

Alicia ask again while Apollo fly over the moving horde. "Still going deeper."

{Be careful}

"I will"

For someone who is being provided by space it shouldn't be possible to be attack nor to be noticed not until something came in.

As he continue to forced his way in, magical beasts with affinity with space swarmed like locusts. Those beast snarl with ice fangs, they unknowingly lunged from every direction. Apollo who didn't notice such beast end up being attack since those beast moved right into the space cube he made.

"Damn it and here I thought I will get pass this horde peacefully"

Out of annoyance with his unruly visitor he took out another weapon with has the stored spell, Thunder Aura: Positive Lightning. Lightning sparks as the dagger coated with volatile arcs fried anything that got near it.

Apollo flick his hand and his skill Automatic weaponry created orbs, enducing them with the authority of gravity. A heavy weaight presses those creatures that accidentally got into Apollo's space cube.

He then walk forward not interested at finishing the immobilized beasts.

Soon however he had no choice but to kill, despite not trying to harm anyone, magical beasts would attack Apollo wanting to kill the boy out of thier instict.

Blood soaked the snow. The air thickened with dark mana, growing heavier the farther he went.

"There's something wrong with this place," he muttered.

[Confirmed. Mana density is abnormal. It's as if the very forest is being engulf by a strange presence]

"What is even stranger is that we only felt it when we got closer, something is controlling that powerful aura so that no one will notice "

He walk even more, minutes passed. Dozens no, hundreds of magical beasts had fallen under his feet. And then he saw it.

A faint glow.

Pulsing.

Apollo closed his eyes and try to feel it.

It was there, something else is silently breathing

Knowing it was the source he rush forward, only to a light

Apollo stopped walking and instead floated just above a broken clearing. And there amidst the carnage stood a beast unlike the rest. A grotesque thing quite similar to the unknown creature he one fought with Alicia, it was more structure than creature, like a pile of flesh put together. It had dozens of legs but no mouth. Its body was warped together but looks incomplete. Right when Apollo thought tha nothing could surprise him any more. He saw the creature's stomach open. And to his dismay it was actually a mouth, full of sharp razor teeths and five giant tongues.

"What the fuck" he could only say feeling his stomach churning, the boy wanted to blast it but decided not to and observe more. Back to the mouth a steady stream of light came out, and from that light, new beasts emerged.

"They're being... spawned," Apollo breathed. "And if the strange phenomenon of hordes is happening throughout the empire...it means" Apollo loook disgusted ust imagining dozens of those creatures moving together.

He flew forward, closer. He needed to see more. He need more data in order to calculate his next attack.

Jeremiah spoke again, voice urgent now.

[Creator, look at its core. Enhancing your vision.]

Apollo squinted as golden runes lit up in his retinas.

And then he saw it.

Buried in the monster's chest, embedded like a heart, was a Fragment.

A shard of the soul of the five pillar's greatest teacher. A piece of what had once broken and somehow contains a power that could bend reality. And now... it was corrupting mana, twisting it into endless horrors.

"No wonder they're endless. This isn't just a beast," he whispered. "Its a mutation forced by the power of the fragmet. That beast is using that power to mass-produce magical life."

"But what I wanted to know it what kind of beast is this originally? Before it was mutated by the fragment it should be something else. But then even with the mutation is should still have an ability to spawn things before being enhance by the fragment"

[Creator, what if its not really spawning but rather an ability to multiply by some beast?]

"I see are you referring to magical beasts that have a high propogate rate?"

[Yes Creator]

"Thats probably it, search in the archive about any beasts that have high reproduction rate"

[Affirmative Creator]
