I can rewind time to prevent death

Chapter 484: This is the answer we want!_3

Yan Junze took a look and found that there was no broken wall opening in this room at all.

"Huh? Did it just disappear in this room?" Yan Junze straightened up and began to frown in thought.

Soon, his gaze fell on a three-phase socket in the corner of the room. At the moment, a plug was inserted into it. The plug was white, but possibly because it had been there for a long time, it was already covered in dust.

He followed the wire behind the plug, which stretched down into the floor, unable to tell where it went.

Pointing to the plug, Yan Junze asked Yuko, "What is this plug for?"

Yuko shook her head and said, "I don't know. If Mr. Kitahara hadn't moved those wooden boxes, I wouldn't have even noticed there was a plug here."

"A three-phase socket in a residential house? How unusual." Yan Junze muttered to himself.

Yuko said, "The electrical setup in this courtyard might be a bit outdated. Sometimes the voltage isn't stable, and it often burns out the light bulbs."

Yan Junze glanced again at Daisuke Kitahara and said, "Mr. Kitahara, I'm afraid I'll need your help again."

Daisuke Kitahara nodded.

Yan Junze pointed to the spot where the plug's wire connected to the floor and said, "Pry all these floorboards open. I want to see where this plug is connected."

Everyone stepped back to give Daisuke Kitahara ample space.

Daisuke Kitahara inserted his katana into the edge of the floorboard and gave it a sharp pry. The board immediately came loose. He repeated the method and soon pried up more than a dozen boards, revealing a black hole below.

Underneath, it was completely hollow!

Everyone was momentarily stunned, their gazes fixed on the dark, gaping void below.

Daisuke Kitahara leaned down on the floor, pressed his ear to it, listened for a moment, and then looked up at Kurosawa Tsuyoshi, saying, "Sensei, there's a strange noise down here. It's faint but definitely there."

Yuko shrank back in fear.

Yan Junze traced the direction of the wire from the plug, which matched exactly with the location of the black hole.

"Be careful. Watch out for electric shock."

Daisuke Kitahara pried open a few more planks, enlarging the exposed area. Then he jumped down. The hole was about half a person's height in depth, and faint traces of white could be seen inside.

Daisuke Kitahara reached out to touch it. The surface was smooth. He stood up and said, "It seems like there's a machine down here."

"Can you lift it out?" Yan Junze asked.

"The electric wire is connected to it," Daisuke Kitahara replied.

"Let me pull the plug out first," Yan Junze nodded.

He walked over, grabbed the three-phase plug, and after struggling for a bit, managed to unplug it. It seemed like it hadn't been touched in years.

However, the moment the plug was removed, the storage room's light bulb burst with a pop and plunged the room into darkness.

Kurosawa Tsuyoshi looked up and remarked, "It seems like the entire courtyard has tripped its circuit breaker."

"Yes, that's how it is," Yuko nodded repeatedly. "It happens all the time."

At that moment, Daisuke Kitahara, standing inside the pit, suddenly exerted his strength. His arm muscles bulged as he tried to shift the machine below, but it wouldn't budge.

Kurosawa Tsuyoshi and Yan Junze both took out their phones and turned on the flashlights, shining them into the pit.

"This looks like... a freezing unit!" Kurosawa Tsuyoshi exclaimed in surprise.

"Mr. Kitahara, can you open the cabinet door directly?" Yan Junze asked.

Daisuke Kitahara nodded, "I'll try."

"Perhaps the answer we're looking for is inside this freezer," Yan Junze said, looking up at Kurosawa Tsuyoshi and Yuko.

Before long, Daisuke Kitahara found the handle to the freezer's door. Clutching it with both hands, he gave a sharp tug. With a "clack," shards of ice flew everywhere, and a cloud of white mist billowed out.

The storage room instantly became much colder.

In the flashlight beams of Yan Junze and Kurosawa Tsuyoshi, a grotesque, deformed human body curled up inside was revealed, frozen solid into ice.

But it was clear that this person was dead long before being frozen. Their hands and feet had been cleanly severed and crudely stuffed into the mashed-up heap of flesh that made up the body.

Half of a head protruded from the ice, tilted at a bizarre angle, as though staring at everyone present.
