I Become Master of Danger Zones as Incubus With Mastery In Genetic

Chapter 638: 58

Ardent observed as Merith and Ternor handle their new assignment. While both are excellent Mage and Aura User respectively, their greatest talents were in teaching.

With his Eye For Talent, Ardent easily put his newest subordinates into the most suitable assignment for each of them. Some work in creating a new bureaucracy and government while others started to do more menial tasks, like building new facilities for the growing village.

In fact, few already sent to nearby village, offering them a new place to live with better amenities, though some of those will take a longer time to be completed.

Though, despite the new arrival origin from one of the eight Main Cities of the region, none possess Talent greater than his 3 friends and fiance.

"Seriously, how are none of them have potential greater than Curt?" the green-haired teen has the lowest talent of the 4, but he still possess a high talent, one surpass the new arrival by a mile.

"Maybe they are just anomalies. Or maybe there are some that possess high talent in the City." Ardent assumed it was mostly the latter though. After all, he never went to the City before, so he cannot see the talents of the inhabitants.

But surely there will be those with high talent there, right?"

"Atchoo!"

"Bless you, young miss."

"Thank you, Agatha. Did you hear any word from my father?"

"Unfortunately, no. Your father had been sent to handle something. They did not tell me what he was sent for, the information being confidential and all."

"Oh. Well, it can't be help. I will go back to my study."

"Master Merith will be happy to see your improved mastery in Alchemy, young miss."

"Thank you Agatha, but you can call me by my name right? In fact, I insist. You are like a big sister to me."

"It will be my honor, Stella."

Ardent wondered why he was feeling excited and depressed at the same time.

"Oh well. It's time to head back to work." using Fly, Ardent started his patrol, as well as inspecting the new project.

"Overall, thing went stellar." the newcomers, despite showing some arrogance and slightly condescending attitude, had surprisingly meshed in well with the villagers.

Then again, they knew giving bad impression to the villagers, who were closer to the heart of their new King, is the definition of bad idea, and tone it down.

They still keep the condescending attitude, but it did not hinder their work. Instead, it work well with the villagers, who decided to not be outdone by those 'arrogant, city brats,' as they taken to call the newcomers.

The rivalry between the two new formed factions worked well, though Ardent asked the chief and Merith to ensure it did not get out of hand.

The next thing he was happy about is the improvement in combat force. While lacking in Magic and Aura knowledge, it was supplemented by Merith and Ternor, with the help of other 3rd Circle Mages and 1st Rank Aura Users.

With their knowledge being written down for future use, Ardent could see the standardization of Magic and Aura practice. Maybe in the future, building an academy for both Magic and Aura will be possible. But that would be in the far future.

"Though, not all news are good." Ardent turned his head to the direction of the dungeon. The growth and formation of the 4th floor is underway, to his fear and apprehension. Even Merith, who was allowed into the dungeon to inspect it, voiced his concern.

It also forced Ardent to speed up his plan so he can get more Mages and Aura Users to guard the dungeon.

"I need to start in two weeks." Ardent muttered. The plan was to strike 3 months after getting his prisonars slash force labor. But, as it turns out, the time he planned was cut down to half. For the village own good.

"Inspect the City first, before making a plan." Ardent muttered to himself. His plan was to inspect Cruom City first. He might get Merith and Ternor to cough up information regarding the city defenses, but he could not let his guard down in case it was a trap by them both.

After all, the lack of 5th Circle Mage and equivalent does not mean lack of means to handle such powerhouse.

"I have to watch out in case of the worse." Ardent muttered to himself before flying in the direction of Cruom City.

Unfortunately, Ardent had underestimated the distance between Slurom Village and Cruom City. The journey he thought would take a single day turn out to take two. Fortunately, he had told others of his absence and he had ensure the Shadow Needle still remained inside the newcomers.

'Catlin and mom will still scold me though.' Ardent thought. He might have told them personally, so their scolding will be less but he will still be scolded by the two most important woman in his life.

'Then again, this probably worth it.' Ardent let his gaze fell on the large city. While not as large as any cities in his previous life, the size is still larger than what a City in the middle of nowhere would be.

'Magic to replace technology.' if the population of Mage too low, such thing would be impossible. Is it is now, the ratio of 1: 100 allow Mages to be common enough yet still in small number that allow them to retain their importance.

'Plus, the existence of magic tool.' Magic tool require Mage specialize in crafting to make one, but it can be use by anyone, though it depends on how it can be use. Some require minute amount of Mana, one everyone with the exception of babies can have while some require the Mana control of a Mage, or Aura User to use it.

'It's like this world is in its equivalent of Industrial Revolution, just with less steel. Maybe in 100 years or so, there will be flying vehicle, or maybe one already existed.' Ardent would not be surprise if that was the case. The region he was in is in the middle of nowhere, at least to the Superpowers of the Mediterranean.
