I Became a Magic Warrior in my Second Life

Chapter 24: Chapter 24

Before we came here, I asked G about Bora's personal information. Not just her, but also the other members and also the manager.

Bora is of Korean descent and she's the most popular member of the group. So I thought that maybe the culprit is in the same group. They do it out of jealousy or something because of her popularity. But I think that's not it.

Now that all of them are in front of me, they are all beauties. Even the manager. If those who are not superhumans awakened their class, they could be prettier. But they are already pretty as it is. And I don't think one of them is jealous of another.

According to G, they are getting along with each other quite well on and off the stage. So it's not likely that the culprit is among them and is hiring someone to cause trouble.

And now, with so many suspicious people nearby, I don't think any of the girls in the group have enough power or influence to gather those people.

This might be related to the boss of the agency. Because I know that the entertainment industry is actually the easiest industry to get involved with the underworld. It's from my past life's experience.

Not that everyone in the industry is involved with the underworld. It's just that they are easy to get involved. For whatever reason.

I was once told to protect a certain popular actor. He's a womanizer and the worst of the worst. If he's on the list of my target to kill, I would kill as soon as I see him. But he's not. Though I knew that he's a bad guy.

I asked my boss for a confirmation back then if I only had to protect him during for duration of time. And he only replied by saying to not leave behind any traces.

So he ended up in the news dying of heart attack. Well, the cops there always wanted to arrest him but they couldn't. So they actually covered the story.

What I meant to say by that story is how powerful and influential people can easily have connection with the underworld. They use the people in the underworld to hide their crimes for a price. That's usually the case. Or that they benefited by getting something from the underworld. That would be bad.

But I could be wrong. Maybe the security guards are ex-convicts. But that doesn't mean that they are still bad guys. They might be trying to turn their lives around by taking a job as security guards. It's just that they got tricked and joined an unlicensed security firm.

I'll just stay suspicious the whole time. We still don't know who the stalker is and how many of them are there.

"You're alone? I thought that they will send more people with how much I have to pay," the one who said that is Bora. The client.

"I think it's best for you to ask me if I could prove that I'm someone you hired. Because I'm just a stranger to you. If I'm the stalker or any other person with bad intention to you, something bad would already happen," I said.

I'm also still standing in front of the door and not approach them because in the end I'm still a stranger.

Hearing that, they suddenly became aware that one of them is in danger because of a stalker. Did they forget about it?

The two who are superhumans stand in front of the rest in case anything happened. That's a good decision.

"Sorry. I was just not in the right mind after what happened to me. Now, show me the proof that you are the one taking this mission," Bora said.

It's something that we were given when we take a mission that needs us to meet up with the client or someone the client appointed. We have to show a certain object to them.

Frank and I were given one each so one of us can show it to the client.

The proof that we're from the unnamed organization where we gather information and also take requests from clients is a coin. But it's not a normal coin.

It's a yellow coin and not gold. And it's actually a magic device. A technology from this world. So instead of electronic device, we call them magic device because well, they use magic. And the people of the slum invented this coin.

"Here it is."

I show the coin to them. Then I put it on the floor and slide it to them.

The superhuman member of the group stopped it and picked it up before giving it to Bora who checked it. And when the client picked it up, one surface of the coin will show up in the color of her choice. The color that she picked when she gave the request to the organization other than yellow. Should I start calling it the Slum? I'll do it for now until we have a real name.

"It's true. Thank you for showing the proof," Bora said as she threw it back to me. It's also something that must be returned. If the client didn't return it, it means that the mission is dismissed. I don't know why there are so many rules about taking a mission.

I catch the coin and destroy it. Again, it's the rule that once this coin is given to the client and returned, we have to destroy it.

"Thanks for accepting us. Now, I believe that you can now trust us so I will not stand on the door anymore," I said.

I entered the training room and approached them. While G is asking me why it seems like this is not my first time taking missions like this.

[This unspeakable thing of you, once you remove the curse, I want you to tell me all about it. If we both can.]

If we both can? Sure, whatever she wants.

"Are you alone? The stalker is expected to be a level 3 warrior. Can you defeat him?"

The one asking me was the manager of the group. While the others are wearing their training clothes, she's wearing suit. Her business outfits perhaps?

"The thing is… the situation might be worse than I expected," I said.

I told them about the security guards here. The security was increased after the agency learned that Bora is being stalked. But they hired suspicious people to be the guards. And the stalker could even be one of them. Or maybe even all of them.

"What?! What did the agency thinking when hiring them?!" the manager shouted.

"Oh, I just told you about something I'm suspicious about. I still don't know if they are with the stalkers or not. Anyway, I just can't trust those people. Although my client is just Bora, I don't want the rest of you to be in danger as well. So please be careful when you're with those security guards," I said.

Their songs are nice to hear. Not all of them. But I like those that are nice. So I don't want anything happened to them. This is just my request to my idols for them to be more careful.

"And with the reward from this mission, we can only spare three people here. One of them is outside guarding from the shadow. The other one is a hacker so she's useless in a fight. As for me, I will protect Bora directly. Maybe from the shadow as well. Depend on the situation. Just know that when you're outside, I will be protecting you. I can't be seen by anyone yet because you hired me personally, right? You didn't ask for permission from your agency to hire a personal bodyguard. So it's best if they don't know about me. Because I'm still suspicious with your agency," I said.

Then G showed herself. Well, not that anyone can see her. She just hacked into the speaker here and talked from there.

[I'm the hacker. Call me G. While the other two will only protect Bora, if you give me permission to hack into your phone, you can connect it to your earbud so I can talk to you and guide you in case I see someone suspicious from the security cameras. Pleased to work with you.]

I told her to do this. Because even if the client is just one, she is letting some other people to wait for us. So they are also potential clients in the future. It's best if they're all safe.

Still, even though we said that we want them to be safe, it's not like they can put their trust in us right away. Some of them are shaking in fear.

"What's the plan after this?" I asked.

"Ah, we're just going to go back home after this," Bora said.

"Then continue with what you're doing. Sorry to say this but you have no choice but to be our bait to lure the stalker. But don't worry. We will protect you from the shadow. As for the others, as soon as you return home, lock the doors and the windows. It should be common sense to do that but I'm just saying that to remind you that you're all popular. It won't be strange if each of you have your own stalker," I said.

[Oh, by the way, there are hidden cameras in the toilet and in the dressing room. I will turn them off when you're changing. I'm also a girl so you don't have to worry about being seen by me.]

"…Sorry, she's an idiot. Even if she said that she's a girl, she hasn't showed herself to anyone so it's hard to tell. When you're changing, don't do it in front of the hidden camera and make sure the camera of your phone is covered as well if you can't trust G. And if you want to go to the toilet, ask G which one doesn't have hidden camera. But when you're at home and not changing, it's best to get your phone camera or any other cameras in your home to face a spot in your home where if there's someone sneaking into your house or your room, G will be able to see them," I said.

In the underworld, trust is the most important thing to have. And you can't just tell other people to trust you without showing them your action. So I have to remind G who is still an amateur about this.

Though everything I said will not be useful once we cleared the mission. I don't think G will try to protect everyone when she's not working.
