Chapter 23: Chapter 23
Two guys wearing black suits leave the slum. We're going to infiltrate a certain entertainment agency and meet with a member of a girl band.
…That doesn't sound nice to hear. But that's what we're going to do.
"Let's go," Frank said.
"On foot? Isn't it far? Or you want to go there by bus?" I asked.
"How else? Do you have a car?"
After Frank asked me that, I approached the homeless guy who kept saying that Bob is waiting for me whenever I came here.
"Can I get a car? I'll return it after this mission," I said.
Then he grabbed a car key from his pocket and threw it at me without saying anything.
"He'll pay for the gas," I pointed at Frank.
"I'm paying? Fine. But what car is it? What car could a homeless guy have?"
I lead him to a nearby junkyard and there's a car there hidden under a camouflaged cloth that made it looks like just a collection of garbage. When I remove it, there's a normal sedan there.
"That's good. If it's a pickup truck, it will be weird seeing two guys in black suit driving it," Frank said.
"I thought you have worked with Bob and the others for a while. You never bother to befriend other homeless people?" I asked Frank.
"I only care about the reward. But now, I feel like I want to do that. Though if I can buy a car myself, I might not need to do that. But I'll see if there's someone I can connect with," Frank said.
"So, who will drive?" I asked.
"You got the car. I'll drive. Do you even have driving license?" Frank asked.
"I do. I drive a car to school every day," I said.
"I thought it's against the rule for a high school student to go to school with a car. Is it not the case with your school?"
"It is the case. I just parked the car in a friend's place," I said.
"…I should have made a lot of friends in my teenage days."
We're driving to the destination while trying to get to know with each other. The three of us. Including G. Though her physical body is not here.
I told Frank what I can tell him. Though with G, she's the one talking about everything as if she's boasting about me.
"…You're too much of a stalker. What about you? What can you tell us about yourself?" I asked.
[I'm just a special girl who can do many things.]
That's the only thing she told us about her. So now, it's Frank's turn.
He's a twenty years old man who takes jobs like this for living. Though after several missions, he decided that it will be great if he has Hero license. So in the entrance exam in a few months, he will take the exam with me. And he's already a level 3 warrior. So the chance of him getting accepted is high.
"And you make it harder for me to be accepted. Which Hero Academy you're thinking of going to? Please be the one that is far from here," I said.
"Why not? Let's be classmates, okay? Also, a lot of people who attended Hero Academies might be older than me. There's nothing for me to be ashamed of by going there when I'm twenty. As for you, you might be the youngest if you get accepted. I still can't believe that you're just a level 1 warrior and magician. But if you can solo a Dungeon, then you should be able to pass," Frank said as he drove the car.
"Do you know what the entrance exam will be?" I asked.
"There should be at least one theory exam and one practical exam. Theory exam should be because no Hero Academy wants idiots to become Heroes. Practical exam is obviously the most important test though," Frank said.
[If you want to know the content of the test, I can check it for you.]
Getting someone to check the content of the exam for me? That's nice.
"Nah, let's not do that. I want to take it fairly like most others. I know someone must be cheating. But I don't want to be like them," Frank said.
Well, that is true as well. I think I will be fine. I shouldn't ask for help from G all the time.
"Once you become a Hero, what will you do?" I asked Frank.
"I don't know. I just thought that having the license alone is good already. I'll think about it later."
He's similar to me. Just thought of getting one because it will be more convenient that way.
We talked all the way to our destination. We parked the car somewhere before we infiltrate the place.
[Bora is done training. She's in the training room together with the manager and the other members of Wishing Well. Seems like she has told them that she hired you guys and wants you to meet them. As I said, I'll take care of the security cameras. Don't get caught on the way.]
Infiltrating mission is easier when I don't have to care about the security cameras. I have taken several assassination missions in my past life. And I was never caught. So I'm confident.
The only problem is the heavy security prepared for Bora because of the stalker. They should be superhumans with great senses. I need to be careful of them.
"Frank, can you infiltrate the place on your own?" I asked.
"If it's me alone, I am confident that I won't be caught. Do you want us to go separately?" Frank asked.
"Together is fine too. But it depends on you."
"Then let's go separately. Let's meet in the training room."
He moves on his own. Going to the other building and is probably trying to enter from there.
"G, where is the training room located?" I asked.
[It's on the second floor of the building. They are currently resting there.]
"Is there cameras in there? I hope there's none in the dressing room and the toilet," I said.
[Hmm… actually, there are some of them. There's no technology that can get pass me.]
The voice of G in my ear sounds very confident. Her hacking skill must be god-like.
"Then there's a chance that the stalker is related with the agency. What about the security guards? Are they from a real security firm or not?" I asked.
[Oh, right. I forgot to check. Hmm… nope. They are not from any official security firm at all. Some of them even have criminal records.]
This is bad. Maybe the entire agency is involved. And Bora might not be the only one being targeted.
My job was to get rid of the stalker. But it seems like there might be multiple stalkers. This could be harder than I thought. And it's just my first mission.
"Well, isn't it fun? G, stop Frank and tell him what you just discovered. We can split up. One of us will protect Bora and the other will be in the shadow. Ask him which one should do what," I said.
[I'll just connect you two so you two can talk.]
…She's an amateur. She's a great hacker but she's a bit slow on the field. Though it's good that her first on-field mission is with me. This way, I can teach her to be a better support in real time.
I told Frank about the situation and we decided that he should be the one hiding in the dark because he's more experienced. It's not the time for me to argue with him so I just agree. Going there to protect the client directly also needs talent.
"G will guide you to a perfect spot to hide. I'll greet the client and her friends then," I said.
And so, it's time to infiltrate an entertainment agency.
From the information we gathered, only two out of the five members are superhumans. The other three are not including Bora. And one of the three is still a high school student.
If it's necessary, I will ask the two superhumans to help in the fight. But that will be for later. I can't ask the friend of my client to fight, right? Or we will lose their trust and they won't ask us for help anymore.
Infiltrating the place was easy. The security guards, whether they are real guards or not, didn't even notice me at all. Because I used magic on my shoes to silence my steps. And the rest was easy because of my experience and the help of G who hacked the security cameras.
Inside the building, there are some employees who are still working late at night. They are too busy to check their surroundings.
Now that I have seen it, it seems like in the entertainment industry, the people working in the background work as hard as or even harder than the celebrities they are managing. I give my respect to them.
Just like that and I reach the door to the training room. I check around to see if there's anyone nearby. When it's safe, it's time for me to enter.
I entered the room and see six beautiful ladies are staring at me. Five members of the group and the manager.
"I'm here as requested to get rid of a stalker. Or maybe stalkers. Nice to meet you all," I said.
