I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: The Iron Gate Breaks Open, Sacrificing Others_1

Fu Xinkun stared at the giant zombie, his eyes widening in shock the very next second.

"Damn! What on earth is this?" He had never seen a zombie of such colossal size before. Just its brawny muscles, knotted and bulging like a loaf of charred bread, were enough to send chills down his spine.

The moment the giant zombie saw Fu Xinkun's head, it excitedly lunged towards the iron door below, causing him to recoil in fear. All he could do was pray that the door would keep the creature at bay.

Tang Ye also felt his scalp tingling. What kind of monster was this? A zombie? Would he turn into something like that? How horrifying!

Roar roar!

As the giant zombie ran, the regular zombies behind it followed like a horde of minions. Tang Ye felt a strange pull, as if he were being led by invisible strings, urging him to charge along with the zombie.

He shook his head, casting that thought away. He didn't know why, but it seemed like powerful zombies could command weaker ones to follow them.

Tang Ye walked a few steps forwards, putting as much distance between himself and the giant zombie as possible. Freed from its pull, Tang Ye moved far from the zombie and sat on the roof of a car to observe the chaos.

Bang!

The giant zombie slammed into the iron door with its body side-on, causing it to tremble. Upstairs, Fu Xinkun and the others felt their hearts skip a beat.

The door was of good quality; the giant zombie couldn't knock it down immediately, only managing to dent it slightly in the middle.

The giant zombie seemed frustrated that it couldn't break through. It let out a deafening roar of rage, and the other zombies echoed it, joining in with their own angry cries. It raised its fists, each as big as a bowl, and hammered them against the door.

Thump!

The iron door trembled again, and this time the screws in the hinges bulged out due to the giant zombie's powerful punches.

Seeing that it still hadn't broken through, it delivered another heavy punch.

Thump!

The upper part of the iron door fell off, stuck in the doorframe, and the entire door bent out of shape.

"Quickly! Gun! Give me the gun!" Fu Xinkun wasn't sure of the exact state of the iron door below him, but he knew that if the rampaging zombie continued to strike it with such force, they were all doomed.

This wasn't a game. There were no respawns.

Grasping the gun, Fu Xinkun furrowed his brow. Since half of the bulky zombie's body was blocked from view by the eaves, and zombies could only be killed with a headshot, he felt a bit at a loss.

"Screw it! Let's do this!" Fu Xinkun gritted his teeth, raised his gun, and began firing bullets at the muscular back of the giant zombie, hoping to kill it.

Each bullet sprayed blood onto the zombie's back. Although it didn't seem to feel any pain, the spray of blood only served to enrage it further, causing it to strike the door with its enormous fists again.

Bang!

The iron door could no longer withstand the sheer force and collapsed, sending the furniture barricading it inside scattering onto the ground. The giant zombie lifted the fallen door and threw it outside. It could smell several living humans upstairs, their scent making it excited.

It reached out with both hands, grabbed a wooden cabinet, and violently threw it to the side, killing another regular zombie in the process.

Crash! Smash! Crash!

Within just a few minutes, the giant zombie had cleared all the furniture inside and charged upstairs.

Fu Xinkun upstairs could feel the tremors from every step the zombie took. His heart pounded with fear. Contrary to their frantic state, Tang Ye, watching from a distance, felt a sense of excitement rise within him.

"Serves you right! Kill them hulk! Yes, kill them!"

Tang Ye didn't have any intention of helping them. If they were to die, they deserved it. They had almost cost him his life just now. Luckily, he had narrowly escaped.

Fu Xinkun watched in panic as a horde of zombies rushed into the room. They were on the third floor, and given the unrelenting speed of the zombies, they could reach them in mere seconds.

"Go! Close the door! Hurry up! What the hell are you standing there for?" He was enraged by the stunned expressions on his minions' faces.

"Shut the door? ... Right, right, the door! I'm on it!" One of the henchmen stammered. Even though their week-long escape had toughened them mentally, the sudden appearance of the unknown giant zombie left him weak with fear.

Looking upstairs, the giant zombie was moving quickly on the stairs, but because of its size, many regular-sized zombies moved even faster.

When it reached the stairway on the second floor, which was slightly lower than its height, it banged its head against the roof. Despite its evolution, it was as unintelligent as the other zombies and continued without ducking.

Thump!

Dust fell as it left a substantial dent in the roof, but it kept moving. As a true "Iron Simpleton", it appeared to have no concept of bending over.

A real man never bends over! All hail Oreilly!

One of Fu Xinkun's henchmen approached the door to close it. Halfway through closing, a decomposed, skeletal hand seized his arm. Before he could react, he was yanked outside by the hand's owner.

"Ah! No! Brother Kun, save me! I don't want to die! I have a paralyzed mother! I need to see her! Please, save me!"

The sound of gnashing teeth filled the air. Soon after, five or six zombies squeezed in through the entrance. Fu Xinkun's face grew darker. He felt the ammunition belt on his waist, finding less than ten bullets left. The few bullets left in the gun weren't nearly enough to kill the wave of zombies.

His henchmen each raised their guns and fired at the incoming zombies, but their eyes were filled with despair. How long could they hold off the growing number of zombies?

They moved back towards Fu Xinkun for support. Fu Xinkun held his gun but didn't fire, gazing out the window, lost in thought...

After watching most of the zombies enter the building, Tang Ye lost interest. He hopped off the car roof and walked towards the building. He wanted to know what was happening inside. He wasn't concerned about Fu Xinkun and the others' survival; he was just passing through.

If the man in black hadn't tried to shoot him earlier, they might have been able to evade this catastrophe. But was that even possible?

The excited zombies crowding the corridor entered Fu Xinkun's room, their cries filling the air. Fu Xinkun looked at his henchmen's retreating backs with cold eyes.

He needed to escape, but that required time. The only way to buy that time was to sacrifice his minions. Seeing the advancing hoard of zombies, he aimed a kick at the back of one of his unsuspecting minions, knocking them to the ground. Meanwhile, he jumped onto the windowsill.

He looked at the air conditioning unit not too far away, slung his gun over his shoulder, and reached out with both hands to climb onto it.
