I am an Eldritch Entity

Chapter 299: A whole group of disciples

As Eryndor's attack landed, Anya flinched, a flicker of pain crossing her face. Her grip on the Whisperwind Whip loosened for a fraction of a second, and even her defensive art faltered.

In that minuscule window, Eryndor moved, the influence of eldritch form allowing him to grasp timings in increasingly efficient ways.

He didn't unleash a powerful offensive art.

Instead, with a burst of Cloud Stride, he closed the distance and executed a swift, almost casual-looking Internal Fist strike to Anya's solar plexus – a vulnerable point with fewer layers of Qi protection, especially with her focus fractured.

The impact was deceptively light on the outside, but Anya's eyes widened in pain as she felt the pain straight to her inner organs.

She staggered back, clutching her stomach.

Eryndor pressed his advantage. He didn't give her a chance to recover.

He launched a series of rapid Air Cleaving Slash attacks at her legs, now less protected by her faltering Qi.

The sharp blades sliced through her skin and muscle. Apparently, she hadn't tempered her body as much.

Anya cried out, her movements becoming clumsy.

Finally, Eryndor executed another precise Internal Fist, this time targeting Anya's heart. The strike, though seemingly weak compared to her Foundation Building power, bypassed her outer defenses, the internal shockwave causing catastrophic damage.

Anya gasped, her eyes losing focus. She collapsed to the ground, the Whisperwind Whip falling limply beside her.

The powerful aura of a Foundation Building disciple faded, replaced by the stillness of defeat.

Eryndor stood over her. He was battered, bruised, and his energy reserves were nearly depleted.

But he had endured, his seemingly weak attacks, coupled with the unyielding defense of his leveled-up Sovereign's Cloak and his precise tactical thinking, had allowed him to overcome a far more powerful opponent.

He glanced at the remaining durability of his Sovereign's Cloak.

Less than one fifth left.

His heart felt heavy as he understood the implications of it.

It was only because of his upgraded Sovereign's Cloak that he was able to stay alive and clinch a victory.

The fight had been so dangerous that even a top most level of defense had been reduced to less than twenty percent of its durability in front of a rather simply stage one Foundation Building disciple.

It was due to the fact that Eryndor was weak himself that the Sovereign's Cloak had to keep defending against the majority of the attacks.

If he had been strong then his defensive cultivation art would've been enough to defend against a huge portion of attacks by itself.

Anyway, I am in strong need of a rest right now.

Eryndor buried the body of the disciple after looting everything, then returned to his transport treasure.

There, he dumped all the loot into the cargo and rested inside the concealment formation itself.

Normally, the problem with such a thing would be that the disciple inside wouldn't be able to see outside.

Unless they had the capability to look past the concealment formation from the outside, they also wouldn't be able to look past it from the inside.

Of course, there existed other types of concealment array formations which allowed a user to see from inside even if they weren't much capable.

However, those were far more expensive than the normal version.

And anyway, Eryndor didn't need those.

His Spatial Sight could easily see through such formations.

I wonder what the limit of my Spatial Sight is.

Eryndor shook his head to remove those thoughts and began cultivating.

His injuries were being fixed by his Passive Regeneration, and even his Energy of Consciousness was filling up every moment, albeit slowly.

Hours later, he opened his eyes, having recovered fully both in the aspect of injuries and energy depletion.

There was also an additional surprise.

I broke through to the third stage of Qi Condensation realm.

The abundance of Qi Gathering and Pure Qi pills was certainly helping him in this aspect.

It wasn't in vain that he was killing so many disciples.

He could afford to be so generous that he would always use Pure Qi pills while cultivating, and even use Qi Gathering pills just for passive cultivation, which was bordering on wastefulness.

This was also the reason why he could refill his Qi so quickly through passive cultivation.

At this rate I'll truly climb the stages too quickly.

Eryndor smiled, and left the concealment formation after checking the surroundings with his Spatial Sight.

For the next hour, he travelled far from his transport treasure and began finding more disciples to hunt.

He was doing this so he couldn't be hunted down through location.

He would always change his location of hunt, and keep it at a variable distance from the transport treasure so his common point couldn't be calculated either.

Sigh, the troubles I am going through to keep myself safe and out of suspicion.

Over the next three hours, Eryndor killed two more disciples, who were at stage four and six respectively.

The latter was obviously much more difficult than the former but with his Sovereign's Cloak he could fight to his heart's content without any worries of getting seriously injured.

After breaking down against his fight with Jaxen in the beginning when it was at Stable realm, his Cloak never failed him again, always holding on with its Active realm durability.

As soon as he killed the tenth disciple, Eryndor carried on with his usual procedure and entered his concealment formation.

It was time to check the orbs!

He quickly took out the blue and green orbs.

Which one has the requirement of ten kills?

Eryndor picked up the blue one first, and immediately felt that he would indeed be able to accommodate this one.

So it's the blue one?

A moment later, his brows furrowed.

He put down the blue orb and picked up the green one.

Eh? I can accommodate this one as well?

Soon, he thought of an answer.

Hmmm, most likely, the colors don't matter at all.

I could have even taken in the blue or green orb in the beginning and nothing would have happened.

If I had done that, the requirements to use the next two orbs would still be the same at ten and hundred kills respectively.

As he finished thinking, Eryndor no longer lingered on that topic.

He took the blue orb and input some Energy of Consciousness into it, activating it.

Just like the red orb, it glowed for a brief second, then dimmed, before immediately turning into a blue light which drilled into his palm.

Understanding his intentions, his Sovereign's Cloak didn't interfere with it either.

Uh, I still don't feel anything different.

Maybe a change would happen once I take in the last orb?

Eryndor looked at the additional blue dot beside the red one on the very top of his right arm, the area near his shoulder.

He physically touched those two dots with his index finger, but nothing happened.

He even tried inputting Energy of Consciousness into that area, but there was still no reaction.

Keeping the green orb on him, he stood up, ready to resume his work.

This time as he was about to leave the concealment formation, something caught his eye.

A disciple.

He was fighting against a beast, near the edge of the normal range of his Spatial Sight.

Eryndor considered for a moment and decided against taking a risk.

He left the concealment array formation and ran in another direction.

I should try going deeper into the forest.

Even though mid stage Qi Condensation realm disciples were giving him a tough fight, with his Sovereign's Cloak, he failed to get any sense of threat to his life.

Sure, he was a cautious person, but that didn't mean he didn't want to improve.

After the episode with Dr. Kirchoff, he was even more determined to push his boundaries now and then occasionally after taking sufficient preparations.

However, it's also similarly difficult to find stronger disciples as they are far less in numbers compared to others.

He wasn't joking when he estimated that he would be among high ranks among disciples if he had the combat prowess of the late stage of Qi Condensation realm, and even more at the top if he had the combat prowess of a beginning stage Foundation Realm.

It wouldn't be a high rank if it was common among disciples.

Encountering that madman of a female disciple was already a feat in itself.

There was also the fact that higher the stage and realms of disciples, the more the loot they carried due to the confidence they had in themselves.

That female disciple at stage one of Foundation Building realm had given him the most loot out of everyone till now.

After about three hours, he had still not found any disciple at the late stage of Qi Condensation realm.

He encountered two at mid stage, but ignored them.

Just how long till I find one?

Eryndor glanced at the map.

He traced his fingers over the border of the Training Camp, and realised that he was walking towards the country which housed the Sky Reaching Bamboos.

Coincidentally, the hunter which he wanted to have a talk with also lived in the same area along the borders.

Well, I am still in the campus, there should be no danger.

After about two more hours, he still didn't find a single disciple of his criteria.

Yes, not a single, but a whole fucking group.

Even though he had already seen them from quite far away through his Spatial Sight, and was confident that they wouldn't be able to sense him, Eryndor still hid behind a tree out of instinct.

Huh? What is going on?
