Chapter 146: Marshadow!
Amidst the terrified gazes of the onlookers, Tyranitar descended like a demon god, exhaling thick pillars of white smoke with every breath.
Its metallic-hued body was now shrouded in dark waves of Aura, though this blackness wasn't the pitch-dark of night. Even in the darkness, people could clearly see the glossy black sheen covering its form.
'Did it just tear through the 'On'?' Netero eyes nearly bulged out of his skull, his heart filled with rare astonishment.
After all, he was an old man who had lived over a hundred years and even journeyed to the Dark Continent.
There were truly few things in this world that could shock him. But since meeting Akira, the frequency of this emotion had skyrocketed.
Like when he first saw Tyranitar during the Hunter Exam, or when he sensed those five auras during the [New Five Strongest Nen Users] meeting... Akira always managed to astonish him.
He was naturally familiar with Tyranitar—this was the same Nen beast that had fought him before.
He had expected Tyranitar to use the same green barrier (Protect) it employed against his "99th Style" last time. Who could have imagined it would charge straight in, choosing offense over defense!
Beyond his shock, Netero also noticed something unusual—something he'd sensed the moment Tyranitar appeared.
Its aura seemed even stronger than during their previous battle?
"Take this, Jed!"
The howling wind whipped Akira hair into a wild, untamed style as he shouted in response.
Watching the demonic Tyranitar stride toward him, Jed completely blackened eyes flickered with complex emotions, all ultimately dissolving into a soft sigh.
"Ah..." Every sentiment was contained within that exhale.
The next moment, Tyranitar body appeared right before him, unleashing a torrent of attacks like falling raindrops.
Crunch! Thrash! Stone Edge! ...
The massive Rasetsu became an unmissable target, every strike dealing devastating damage.
A brilliant flash of light later, Jed consciousness dissipated along with the destroyed Rasetsu.
"BOOM!!!"
Amid deafening explosions, the 'Hyakkijuon Rasetsu' was torn apart like a ragdoll under Tyranitar assault.
The collision between Rasetsu and Tyranitar created shockwaves rivaling missile detonations.
Countless debris and dust swirled in hurricane-force winds that only grew stronger, showing no signs of ending
Gon and the others were pressed flat against the ground, releasing torrents of Aura to anchor themselves by driving hands and feet into the earth. Even Hisoka couldn't maintain his usual elegance against the aftermath of Tyranitar battle with Rasetsu.
Half-crouched behind a "gum" barrier formed from countless playing cards infused with Aura, his bewitching eyes remained locked on the battlefield—especially on Tyranitar powerfully aesthetic form.
He now felt grateful that Akira had only intimidated him with his presence back then.
Had that Nen beast been unleashed in the underground tunnel, he'd surely have died on the spot.
At this moment, even the gentle wind seemed to turn violent, wantonly assaulting everything in sight. Gon and the others couldn't even open their mouths to speak, as the howling gale would immediately force its way in.
The slightest carelessness could injure their mouths or even their throats.
After all, this wasn't an ordinary wind—it carried countless particles of dust and fragments of rock.

In the digital world
"Are you leaving already?" Ickshonpe asked curiously, still fixated on the screen.
A spectacle like this was truly once-in-a-century, not something one could witness casually. The scale of the battle between Akira and Jed could rival even the grandest Hollywood blockbusters on Earth.
Ickshonpe was thoroughly engrossed, unwilling to miss a single moment. He had even recorded the entire event to revisit and savor later.
"Send me back. It's all over now" Ging voice came from behind Ickshonpe.
On the screen, the image of Rasetsu fading away played out.
"Yeah, looks like it's been dealt with" Ickshonpe agreed, his abstract head bobbing in a nod.
"If even an attack like that couldn't finish it off, that would've been truly terrifying."
'A Nen beast master, huh?'
'Is this the pinnacle of what a Nen User specializing in Nen beasts can achieve?' Ging glanced at the screen where Tyranitar stood proudly, a sense of awe rising within him.
Each of Akira Nen beasts left a lasting impression.
He remembered the last time they fought the final Brions, this very Nen beast had made an appearance.
Though he'd only seen it in action twice so far, both instances had been unforgettable.
This Nen beast gave him the impression of a tyrant—a tyrant of the desert!!
This could be inferred from the way it always appeared accompanied by swirling sands. There was undoubtedly some connection between this Nen beast and the desert.
Thus, Ging dubbed it—the Tyrant of the Desert! The title fit perfectly, without a hint of exaggeration.
At the same time, he noticed that Akira Nen beasts were unlike mainstream Nen beasts.
Normally, a Nen User Nen beasts had singular functions, usually possessing only one or two abilities. But Akira were different—not only were there many of them, but each also had multiple special abilities.
Just this Desert Tyrant alone had displayed several distinct powers: the crushing force it used against the Brions (High Horsepower), its earlier warm-up (Dragon Dance) and that terrifying illusory face (Scary Face)...
One could glimpse the whole picture from just a single detail.
Akira Nen beasts far exceeded conventional understanding of what Nen beasts could be!
It wasn't that Nen beast specialists were inherently powerful—it was simply because this one was called—Akira!
Akira was an exceptionally unique existence!

The ravaged battlefield finally settled into silence.
Gon and the others barely managed to adjust when Jed was defeated.
Once defeated, just like in the original story, he crumbled into gray ashes and scattered with the wind. Rasetsu body also dissolved into streams of 'On', floating in the air before being sucked into Mega Gengar mouth, leaving nothing behind.
The Mega Gengar also cleared away the 'On' that had trapped Chairman Netero.
After being confined for half a day and witnessing scenes more thrilling than blockbuster movies, the old man Netero could finally stand on solid ground again.
Unfortunately, his once-elegant demeanor was long gone.
His face was smeared with patches of dust and his clothes were stained black here and there.
"Tap, tap…" Netero slowly walked to the spot where Jed had just disappeared, only to find half a Hunter Association emblem coin left behind.
Bending down, he tightly grasped the broken coin in his hand, a look of reminiscence crossing his face.
Back in the day, he and Jed had been close friends.
In their youth, they had settled a competition to determine who would stand in the light and who would lurk in the shadows.
In the end, Jed had lost and willingly took on the role of the "dark side" of the Hunter Association.
Yet, the obsession to defeat Netero still burned in his heart.
At that time, Jed hair had still been yellow, but by the time it turned white, he had never managed to surpass Netero.
Each of them holding half a coin was proof of their duality—two sides of the same coin.
Netero quietly pocketed the broken half and murmured in a low voice.
"Jed…"
"May you attain enlightenment in that realm of Nirvana, where there is no distinction between light and darkess."
For a moment, both Netero and Akira stood motionless, appearing lost in thought to any onlooker.
In truth, Chairman Netero was mourning the departed Jed, while Akira was tallying up his gains from this battle.
After defeating Jed, just as he had anticipated, the massive amount of experience propelled Tyranitar to the next stage. It had successfully reached S+ rank!
This was his first S+-rank Pokemon he have—if one didn't count the Mega-Evolved Gengar.
Aside from Jed experience, Gaki and Shura had also contributed significant experience to Lucario and Porygon-Z. Both Pokemon were now just one step away from breaking into the S- rank!
Lucario had previously slain the Demon Cicada in the Demon Realm and now it had defeated Gaki.
It was only a sliver of experience away from reaching S- rank.
If Akira guess was correct, once Lucario officially reached S- rank, it would—like Gengar—unlock its Mega Evolution form!
The fox Mega Evolution form was undeniably cool and Akira was already looking forward to it.
As for Porygon-Z, it constantly absorbed data from the digital world, accumulating experience over time.
Now, it was also on the verge of reaching S- rank. The difference between A rank and S rank was like the distance between America and Singapore.
Perhaps once Porygon-Z reached S- rank, it could evolve from merely using the network to creating it.
At that point, the locations it could traverse would extend far beyond the six continents!
It might even be able to cross directly into the Dark Continent!
Unfortunately, Porygon-Z didn't have a Mega Evolution form, so it wouldn't unlock one like Gengar had.
Still, gaining another Mega-Evolvable Pokemon was a considerable gain to Akira.
Just as he had speculated, once a Pokemon strength reached a certain level, those capable of Mega Evolution could undergo a form change.
Now that Tyranitar had reached S+ rank, it could finally Mega Evolve!
Tyranitar Mega Evolution form was just as imposing, adding even more dominance to its already formidable appearance.
Akira fingers were itching and he even considered having Tyranitar mega evolve right here and now.
As for who to use as a practice target?
That old man who'd been watching the show for so long seemed like a perfect choice.
Though he could no longer gain experience points from him, as an S- rank powerhouse, he'd at least be more durable.
Definitely more suitable than those dazed kids like Gon over there.
Chairman Netero, who was reminiscing about the past, had no idea that the young man who'd just rescued him was planning to use him as a training dummy.
"Ding!"
"Pokemon incubation complete!"
Just then, the new Pokemon was finally successfully incubated, forcing Akira to shelve his "wicked" thoughts.
When he focused on the new Pokemon, his first reaction was astonishment.
His second reaction was shock.
His third reaction was ecstasy!
Without exaggeration, with this Pokemon, he could charge straight into the Dark Continent and go wild!

Heavens Arena
"Akira... won!" A faint murmur from the audience seats shattered the previously deathly silence.
Watching the standoff between Akira and Jed, though most couldn't understand the techniques being used, they could still feel the tension radiating from the scene, their heartbeats quickening in response.
The entire audience had watched with bated breath, being model "spectators."
For them, whether the Martial Arts Tournament could continue no longer mattered—they were just here to see Akira.
Compared to watching him fight relatively weak Floor Masters, this battle against some unknown villain was clearly far more exciting!
Expert versus expert, expert versus rookie. The audience would always prefer the former.
Under Tyranitar fierce assault, Jed body dissipated into dust before countless eyes, leading to that earlier murmur.
Then came the scene of Akira releasing Chairman Netero, the two standing proudly at the summit.
Clearly, this was a resounding victory!
They'd all seen clearly how completely outmatched that man was against Akira "pet."
With someone breaking the ice, what followed seemed only natural.
The audience seats erupted into a sea of cheers, everyone shouting Akira name.
After today, the legend of Akira would be permanently etched in their hearts!
Because the nature of their admiration had completely changed!
Before, they'd liked Akira for his journey of defeating Floor Masters and his strength—mainly stemming from their admiration for the strong.
Now it was different.
They could say their idol, the legendary Akira, had saved them from an attack by some unknown force.
Though in the original story they hadn't been harmed, with Gakit later going after Gon and Killua, and the remaining robots being effortlessly taken out by Biscuit Krueger without even transforming.
Without Biscuit intervention, they'd believe that if Akira hadn't been here today, they likely would've met their doom.
Thus, their admiration for Akira grew even stronger!
This was the debt of a life saved!
To them, Akira wasn't just an idol—he was their savior.
"Phew~ Finally over?"
"But I have to say, that was terrifyingly powerful~" Biscuit Krueger sat in her seat, watching as Jed turned to ashes and couldn't help but sigh in relief while also marveling at Tyranitar terrifying power.
"That Nen beast gave me such an overwhelming sense of pressure, yet Akira actually has three of them."
"And that's just what we've seen—who knows how many more he hasn't revealed yet." Her wine-red eyes filled with deep astonishment as she propped her chin on her hands.
Akira Nen is truly outrageous!
"I remember Akira once told me about that Nen beast—it's called Tyranitar" Menchi chimed in from the side.
"I know that" Biscuit nodded.
A long time ago, her good friend Pyon had mentioned it to her. That was after the Moros Ruins incident, quite a while back now.
She only knew the names of three Nen beasts: Tyranitar, Gardevoir, and Gengar.
"But you probably don't know Tyranitar title. According to Akira, Tyranitar is the ruler of the desert."
"That's why he calls it the 'Desert Monarch'—or alternatively, the 'Desert Tyrant'!" Menchi recalled Akira words with a serious expression.
"Desert Monarch, huh..." Biscuit murmured softly, committing both titles to memory.
Admittedly, those names fit the Nen beast called "Tyranitar" perfectly.

Akira stared at the new Pokemon, barely keeping his expression under control.
It wasn't that he was exaggerating—this newly hatched Pokemon was truly extraordinary.
He had speculated earlier that this one might be a Ghost/Fighting-type.
But that was just a guess—he couldn't be certain.
Even if it were Ghost/Fighting, it could have been a newer Pokemon like Annihilape.
He never expected this new Pokemon to be a Mythical one!
It was already beyond the scope of ordinary Pokemon!
Thinking back to the Ditto he had hatched earlier, Akira could somewhat understand.
It seemed Pokemon hatched from movie adaptations were absurdly strong.
Too bad Hunter x Hunter only had two movies—it would've been great if there were more.
This new Pokemon was none other than the mythical Pokemon—Marshadow!
