HxH : Pokemon Master

Chapter 143: That Was Actually Your Nen Beast?

"Hohohoho, Netero! Do you think such words will earn my forgiveness?" Jed let out a chilling laugh.

Provoked by 'Netero' words, years of pent-up hatred erupted violently!

The wrathful visage of the Rasetsu grew even more ferocious, its aura of 'Malice' swirling wildly, instantly transforming the battlefield into a wasteland of death.

The already pitch-black night was now shrouded in indigo-black waves of malice.

Yet standing opposite him was 'Netero', bathed in radiant golden light.

To the left, a golden-hued Kannon to the right, a sinister, wailing Rasetsu.

And sandwiched between them, slightly behind, was the real Netero—reduced to little more than a decorative prop.

Together, they formed a scene worthy of a world-famous painting.

With Jed furious roar, the colossal Rasetsu sprang into action. But instead of slashing with its bladed hands as expected, it stretched both arms forward, palms aimed squarely at 'Netero'.

Within its ghastly pale palms, infinite amount of 'On' gathered, coalescing in an instant into massive orbs of ghostly flame.

Twin spheres of blue-black hellfire—like flames crawling straight from the underworld—instilled soul-deep terror with just a glance. The eerie glow illuminated the darkened night like dancing will-o-wisps, sending chills down every spine.

This was the true power of [Rasetsu]!

[Hyakkijuon Rasetsu] specialized in long-range attacks.

Similar to how Nen Users launch aura bullets. It could condense 'On' into its palms and fire massive orbs of malice.

Earlier, the airships had been too weak to warrant such techniques—a casual swipe of its bladed hands had sufficed to obliterate them.

But against 'Netero', it had to deploy its signature fighting style!

In close combat, it couldn't match 'Netero' [Hyakushiki Kannon].

But in ranged attacks, [Rasetsu] reigned supreme!

From faint embers to colossal ghostfire orbs—the transformation took mere moments. Being composed entirely of 'On', these attacks possessed abilities ordinary Aura lacked.

Corrosive properties!

'On' was energy forged from every negative emotion in existence—hatred, malice, dread, death, and beyond...

It was precisely because of this that Jed and his group were able to create the "On Elixir" turning those defective Floor Masters into puppets.

The Rasetsu formed from these condensed negative emotions was naturally not to be underestimated!

The decision decades ago to eliminate the Shadow Corps was largely influenced by this 'On' ability.

Aura, in essence, is the life force that dissipates from within people and it can be manipulated to achieve various purposes. It originates from the fundamental source within the human body—a perfectly normal ability.

'On' energy is different, one could say the two are complete opposites.

'On' energy is saturated with countless negative emotions, rooted in an obsession with something, and harnessed through that fixation.

This is an ability inherently opposed to Nen abilities!

'Netero' focused his gaze, his eyes locked onto the Rasetsu hands, calmly awaiting its attack.

Moments later, Rasetsu palms resembled Gatling guns spewing blue flames, continuously firing 'On' bullets.

Countless massive ghostly fireballs, as if unconcerned about energy consumption, madly sprayed toward 'Netero'.

Anyone who witnessed this scene couldn't help but feel terror at the horrifying spectacle. Faced with such a terrifying assault, how could one possibly counter it?

"Sigh…" A low sigh echoed.

'Netero', whose hands had been clasped together, had now separated them at some point and the Kannon statue behind him underwent a subtle transformation.

In an incredibly swift motion, his arms trembled, leaving behind a series of afterimages—strangely surreal in their simultaneous speed and slowness.

'Netero' gaze remained resolute, fixed firmly on the barrage of 'On' bullets hurtling toward him.

As his hands trembled, the faintly visible colossal Kannon statue behind him also moved.

Hundreds of hands struck out in various postures, swiftly executing different techniques to firmly intercept every grudge bullet.

First Hand! Second Hand! ...

"Boom! Boom! Boom!..."

Two distinctly opposing auras clashed on the battlefield!

Jed relentless offense, 'Netero' steadfast defense.

The dense golden Aura intertwined with the eerie black 'On', colliding incessantly.

These two seemingly world-destroying forces were now engaged in their first true confrontation!

This scene no longer resembled a battle from Hunter x Hunter but rather something out of the Naruto universe.

Both [Hyakushiki Kannon] and [Hyakkijuon Rasetsu] manifested in colossal forms.

Their battle was fascinating in its own way.

Rasetsu was like an emotionless "Gatling gun," ceaselessly firing at the Kannon statue.

The Kannon statue, in turn, swung its golden arms, effortlessly deflecting each ghostly fireball.

Since their strengths were nearly equal, the battle quickly reached a stalemate.

Neither could gain the upper hand.

But in a prolonged battle, 'Netero' would inevitably lose.

After all, the mimic only possessed half the Aura of the original.

Watching this familiar scene, Netero felt a surge of mixed emotions.

In the past, he had always been the one in such battles—this was the first time he observed such a spectacle as a bystander.

After calming down, he began to form a vague suspicion.

Not only could it mimic appearances, but it could also wield the Nen abilities of the one it imitated, matching their strength almost perfectly.

Achieving this level of replication was exceedingly rare.

The only person he could think of capable of such a feat... Was Akira!

Akira Nen beast possessed a variety of special abilities.

The fact that it could perfectly mimic others didn't seem too far-fetched, did it?

***

In the digital world

"Hyakushiki Kannon, huh?" Ging raised an eyebrow, murmuring to himself.

The moment 'Netero' unleashed [Hyakushiki Kannon], even he found it difficult to distinguish the real from the fake.

At this point, either one could still be genuine.

After all, abilities capable of perfect mimicry—even replicating Nen abilities—were nearly unheard of.

But that didn't mean they didn't exist at all!

At the very least, in his view, there was one person who might be capable of such a feat.

Beyond his surprise, Ging also pondered the nature of this ability.

Such an overpowered skill must come with significant restrictions, right?

Could it transform into anyone appearance?

Or was it limited to mimicking just one specific person?

If anyone could potentially become a target, its practicality would be incredibly broad.

***

Countless people across the six continents were watching the battle between the two. Those who could follow the fight were all awestruck by its intensity.

"Is this really a level Nen Users can reach?"

This was the shared thought among many Nen Users.

The difference between one Nen User and another could sometimes be greater than the gap between a Nen User and an ordinary person.

Just as Netero was fully engrossed in admiring the battle, a figure suddenly appeared beside him.

"Chairman, you're looking a bit too disheveled, aren't you?"

Netero current state was far from pristine.

He was suspended in a crucifix-like pose on a frame composed of 'On', surrounded by eerie tendrils of black malice.

Though the 'On' blocked some of the shockwaves, it didn't stop dust and debris from settling on him.

As a result, while Chairman Netero remained unharmed, his once-pristine robes were now covered in gray dust.

Even his face and beard were tinged with a layer of dirt.

"So? Enjoying the show?"

Hearing the familiar voice, Netero shifted his attention from the battle to the figure beside him.

When he caught sight of the person face, his pupils contracted briefly before relaxing with a hint of realization.

"I knew it was you~"

"Akira!"

The one who had appeared beside Netero was none other than Akira, the very person everyone had been waiting for!

"Hey! Look! Isn't that the legendary Akira?!"

"It's true! The legendary Akira is here!"

"Go! Legendary Akira, defeat him!"

The audience in Heavens Arena erupted into cheers, thrilled that their idol had finally made an appearance.

"Finally showed up, huh? Guess there's nothing to worry about now." Biscuit Krueger let out a sigh of relief. With Akira here, no matter what happened, the situation would be under control.

Sensing its master arrival, 'Netero' gradually withdrew his Aura. The faint golden visage of the Kannon slowly dissipated, leaving only 'Netero' standing alone on the battlefield.

"Huh?"

"What's wrong, Netero? Why did you stop attacking?" Jed frowned, puzzled by 'Netero' sudden halt and the deactivation of [Hyakushiki Kannon].

Was he surrendering?

A moment later, 'Netero' dissolved before his eyes, dispersing into wisps of pure Aura that scattered into the air.

'Netero' body vanished like a bubble, disappearing from Jed sight in an instant.

"What is this?!" Jed pupils first contracted, then suddenly dilated.

His originally cold expression was now filled with shock.

"How could this be?!"

As a seasoned warrior, he instantly recognized what this was!

This was unmistakably the dissipation of Nen!

"So? Did you enjoy fighting my Nen beast?" Akira slowly stepped out from beside Netero, a playful smile on his face.

Especially when he saw Jed stunned expression, Akira found it even more amusing.

A Nen beast?!

"So... the one I was fighting just now wasn't the real Netero..."

"...but your Nen beast?!" Jed golden pupils locked onto Akira as he spoke each word deliberately.

"Like it? This little act of the real and fake Netero." Akira crossed his arms, standing directly opposite Jed, his smile only fueling Jed growing fury.

"So... he was the real Netero all along!" Jed shot a glance at the restrained Netero beside him, his tone laced with irritation.

"Hohohoho, so I was the real one after all?" Netero let out his signature laugh once more.

It was clear he found the whole thing highly entertaining.

Akira carefully staged performance had genuinely surprised him, but overall, he had enjoyed the show.

Such amusing spectacles were rare.

"SHUT UP, NETERO!" Realizing the truth, Jed face twisted with rage as he snapped at Netero to keep quiet.

"Kid, to possess a Nen beast like that... you must be no ordinary man."

"Tell me your name! Though you're destined to die by my hand, you're at least worth remembering."

Jed arrogant words echoed around them, but given the overwhelming 'On' radiating from him, no one doubted his word.

He truly meant every word!

"Jed, my boy, this is the one I told you about—the new strongest in the world!"

"One of the new Five Greatest Nen Users—the Nen Beast Master, Akira!" Netero booming voice rang out from the side, forcing Jed to reassess Akira with newfound seriousness.

"So you're that Akira? With strength like this, calling you the world strongest isn't unreasonable." Jed scrutinized Akira with sharp eyes, his tone grave.

Netero words made him rein in some of his contempt.

Anyone hailed as the world strongest surely wouldn't be weak.

A title like "Nen Beast Master"... was that the Nen beast that took Netero form earlier?

Combined with this man own power, it was enough to earn him the title of the world strongest.

He must have dismissed the Nen beast earlier because his Aura was running low.

A Nen beast that overpowering must consume an enormous amount of energy.

Jed mind raced, piecing together what he believed was a logical conclusion.

"The new world strongest? Then let's see what you're made of!" Jed lips curled into a bloodthirsty grin.

He had returned from death for one purpose—destruction!

No matter who stood in his way, the outcome would be the same! Death!

As Jed thirst for vengeance intensified, the 'On' surging from his body grew denser and darker!

A torrent of malevolent energy erupted skyward, swirling around him like towering water spouts, rotating clockwise.

"Netero! Watch closely! I always keep my promises!"

"If I say I'll tear him apart, then that's exactly what I'll do!"

Netero could only shake his head inwardly at Jed words.

Revived from death, Jed had gained even greater power—that much was undeniable.

But the one you're facing... is Akira!

"Oh?"

"You want to tear me to pieces?"

"Let me think... what happened to the last person who said that?" Akira rested his chin on his right hand, feigning deep thought.

"Oh, right! They were crushed into pieces!" A mocking grin spread across Akira face, directed unabashedly at the furious Jed.

"Tch! All you do is talk big! Die already!" Jed casually grabbed two nearby pillars of 'On', transforming them into long whips in his hands.

The 'On'-formed whips exuded a sinister aura, wreathed in blue flames.

With a fierce swing, the two whips lashed against the ground first.

The ground shattered violently, leaving a large crater covered in dense, spiderweb-like cracks.

Beyond the unnerving fractures, the ground was also coated in a layer of blue-black substance.

That was 'On'—with terrifying corrosive properties!

An ordinary Nen User wouldn't just struggle to block the attack, even the lingering 'On' would be enough to ruin them.

The rebounding whips coiled like two black serpents, dancing through the air before striking unerringly toward Akira.

The thick 'On' whips sealed off most of Akira escape routes, making it seem impossible to evade this 'inescapable net'.

"Care to guess why they call me the Nen Beast Master?"

Faced with Jed fierce assault, Akira didn't even bother lifting an eyelid, uttering words that only deepened Jed confusion.

What did that mean?

Jed bewilderment didn't last long—soon, he understood exactly what Akira meant.

The next moment, several terrifying auras erupted into the sky!

Jed shuddered violently, his pupils widening in shock.

How is this possible?!
