Hunter x Hunter - Unlimited Abilities

Chapter 28: 100TH - Income and Stability Ideas - Chapter 28

He'd just come from his third consecutive fight of the day, three opponents defeated.

500,000, Jenny.

That number echoed in his mind as he walked down the street toward a cozy dinner place he'd started frequenting.

Arin ordered a plate of spiced beef, rice, and vegetables.

"Gon and Killua were kids when they came here."

"They never thought about things like taxes, investments, or long-term planning."

"But I'm not like them."

"I'm not here just to get strong. I'm here to build something."

He pulled out his pocket notebook and placed it beside his now half-empty plate.

The first page was filled with training ideas.

The second page with Nen theories.

The third had information about aura control.

But for the fourth, he now turned to a fresh fourth page and began to write.

At the top, he scribbled:

"Future Plans, Income, and Stability"

Below that, he made a quick list:

Real Estate

Stock Market

Gold & Precious Metals

Valuable Items / Auction Bidding

He tapped the pen against his lip.

He was no expert in finance, but he was smart enough to understand one core truth:

Money buys freedom. And freedom buys time.

And with enough time, he could train to heights others wouldn't even dream of.

Property in major cities.

Hostels near the Heavens Arena.

Rentable apartments. Long-term passive income.

He didn't know the specifics of this world's version of Wall Street, but surely there were stock exchanges.

Gold & precious metals are a timeless investment.

Always valuable.

Always easy to liquidate in a crisis.

He paused and leaned back in his seat.

The waitress brought him a second mug of tea, smiling politely.

He thanked her with a nod and returned to his notes.

"A fighter without resources can be manipulated."

"A fighter with gold in the bank and property under his name?"

"That's someone who gets to make choices."

Then, his thoughts clicked together.

What if… he paused.

"Create or manipulate Nen-based items with value. Sell or trade them."

It was a bold idea. Risky.

But worth exploring.

He was a manipulator.

He might be able to create some object imbued with minor properties.

If he could make aura-enhanced tools, they might be worth something on the black market if done subtly.

Or he could produce tiny enhancements to common tools and offer them as luxury items to non-Nen users.

Of course, he would need caution; selling Nen-enhanced items to the public could attract the wrong kind of attention. But as a concept, it had potential.

He sipped his tea again, thinking.

"If I were a conjurer, this plan would be easier."

"Kortopi from Phantom Troupe with his Gallery Fake ability could easily create copies of valuable things and sell them."

"I also remember that he was an 'En' master."

"I would say his 'En' would be only second to that of Neferpitou; if not counting Chimera Ants, I would say only Zeno may have an 'En' like him, and I am not sure of that."

Arin finished his food and left the restaurant.

As he walked through the corridors, he muttered to himself,

"This will be my first one hundred-level match. If I win, I'll elevate into level one hundred." His eyes narrowed slightly.

"And I'll earn good money… while finally getting a private room."

The prospect of a private room wasn't just a comfort or luxury.

For Arin, it was necessity.

He had spent the last few weeks juggling mental training, physical improvement, and aura development in a cramped hostel room with paper-thin walls.

"I need a great place to continue my training."

"The cheap hostels will not cut it."

Arin stepped onto the waiting platform of the 100th floor and checked the digital display overhead.

His number was listed there, blinking next to the word

"PREPARE."

A few minutes later, a voice rang out over the announcement system.

"Arin Walker vs. Agris Meril. Battle to commence in three minutes."

He nodded and cracked his knuckles.

He could feel the eyes of spectators, analysts, and gamblers tracking his every move.

Walking toward Arena C-5,

The hallways leading to the 100-level battle arenas were far quieter, more tense, and almost clinical compared to the bustling lower levels.

When he arrived, he noticed immediately this arena was different.

"The bigger the levels, the bigger the gambling returns and the more entertainment for the people," he commented and waited for his opponent to arrive.

A moment later, the opposite door slid open.

Agris entered.

He was a tall, broad-shouldered man with short, unkempt black hair and a grizzled beard.

He wore a fitted combat vest and loose pants tucked into boots.

As Agris walked into the arena, Arin's eyes narrowed.

In that instant, a wave of tension surged through the space between them.

Arin blinked.

He focused his vision "Gyo".

A soft shimmer appeared around Agris's body. Like a faint mist of power radiating from his skin.

"He is a Nen user!" Arin's thoughts exploded in his mind.
