Chapter 26: First Plan For The Nen Ability - Chapter 26
While Nakis and his group of friends tried to hunt down Arkanis.
Arin lay back on the thin mattress of his inexpensive hostel room near Heavens Arena.
He blinked when he reopened his eyes.
"Fifteen Nen Points."
"I have reached it."
"But I need twenty points for a new ability."
He hadn't marked the shift until now, but every level of experience since the first fights had fed both his skill and his aura.
The system had kept pace, awarding him experience-proportional Nen Points like an RPG leveling system.
Twenty points… Once he hit twenty, he'd have the raw potential to create a Nen ability.
He sat up, pressing his elbows to his knees, and stared at the ceiling.
"As a manipulator, my focus should be on manipulating things."
"Normally, I would not be thinking of using Conjuration and Enhancement in my ideas for my first ability."
"But the fact that 'Nen Points' and 'Unknown Traveler' are specialist abilities given to me by the system is still there."
"This reality changes my actions; I should be able to not overload myself like Hisoka said to Kastro."
"In the end, twenty points of nen is the condition for me to create a nen ability, which also would give me freedom when I create one."
"But Nen needed more than a concept; it needed real limitations, activation conditions, and purpose."
"If I truly want longevity, my ability couldn't just be a combat tool. It needed to function in daily life: to influence people or feed his plans."
He thought of the ancient custom, the principle Morena Prudo used in Contagion: power through sacrifice of life, mostly "human life."
He closed his eyes.
Beads of sweat formed on his brow as he mentally built the structure of his first Hatsu.
What would it take to reflect me… to serve me… but still be coherent?
After an hour of quiet calculation, he scribbled in his notebook:
Nen Ability: Black and White—Master of Life
Manipulation / Conjuration / Enhancement
Activation Conditions—Core Creation:
White Core: Sacrificing any living being, from a rat to a human, creates a White Core, the size of a small pearl. The core's power scales with the life's value.
"A human life is a more valuable sacrifice than a 'rat.'"
Black Core: Sacrifice of a Nen user or Nen-capable being creates a life-form that is more powerful and dangerous.
"First Ability—& Core-Powered Life Forms
After consuming a core, Arin can conjure and manipulate aura beings: humanoid or beast.
Arin can conjure up to 100 White-Core Life Forms.
But he can only conjure 10 Black-Core Life Forms.
Life forms derive their strength and stamina directly from the sacrificed life energy that forms the "core."
White Core Life Forms can be summoned and unsummoned, but Black Core Powered Life Forms are permanent and cannot be unsummoned after being created.
Second Ability &
White Master—
Feeding a White Core to a non-Nen user grants mild manipulation: the person develops goodwill towards Arin.
The consumer of the white core must be willing and consent to eating the white core, albeit Arin does not need to say what it is.
Effects are cumulative with repeated ingestion.
(Does not work on Nen users.)
Black Master—
Willfully consuming a Black Core after Arin explains his power, "Black Master," can turn non-Nen users into actual Nen users in three days of time.
This ability comes with a manipulation clause that they may not act hostile toward Arin directly.
(If the consumer of Black Core is manipulated by another, which, because of the nature of the ability, any manipulator with a strong nen capability is capable of doing, they can harm Arin with no backlash from the ability.)
Limitations & Costs:
Core creation requires life sacrifice;
Cores that are not used to create life-forms dissipate after 24 hours if unused.
Maintaining White Life Forms drains his aura proportionally while Black Life Forms only consume aura while they are created and given "direct order."
All existing White Core life forms will be unsummoned if Arin is incapacitated and cannot be summoned for 3 days,
While Black Core life forms will exist but move like "NPCs" and robots for three days.
Core-Powered Life forms, whether white or black, have cores in their bodies.
If the core is damaged by a Nen attack or a high-level force such as an explosion, it is easier to kill them."

He leaned back and let out a long breath.
White is for general control in a world full of non-Nen users honest ally-building.
Black: dangerous and controlled, for awakening strategic partners or for overwhelming enemies.
He closed the notebook and tapped the pen against his heart.
He had accepted the system's principle long ago: you must sacrifice to create.
"Any life-forms created through a sacrifice of a human life should be powerful."
"The condition of using a life to power up my aura to move like a life-form on its own is good enough to give me power."
He pictured the life form: a small, silent creature made of white aura, task-limited but agile.
"It is an ability that can be used in many scenarios."
He exhaled deeply.
His Nen Points: 15.
Arin had named his first Nen ability.
Now it was time to earn more points to reach the level that would give him a chance to create his ability.
