Dodging Goki's lumbering attack once more, Kurapika struck him with his chains, then jumped back, addressing Basho. "Don't just stand there! Find a way to take down this Nen Beast."

Basho was taken aback. "How? This Nen Beast is incredibly strong and its defense is insane. My attacks are useless."

Kurapika, having regained his footing, looked up at Goki, who was charging again. He was frustrated.

To defeat a Nen Beast, would he have to use Absolute Time? Without that, his attacks were ineffective.

'Damn it!' Kurapika gritted his teeth.

Before he could decide, Goki charged again, his massive form like a tank. Kurapika couldn't block it and had to dodge. He hadn't expected to be held back by a Nen Beast.

The battle continued. Outside, the second wave arrived—hundreds more than the first. They carried various weapons; Nen users and ordinary people alike.

"Don't go! That kid's a monster! You're no match!" one of the survivors from the first wave yelled, desperately trying to dissuade them. But they ignored him.

"Move it, coward! Some S-Class criminal. He's just a kid who recently became a Hunter."

"How strong can a kid be?"

The crowd pressed forward, mocking the survivor.

"Didn't you see the video? He destroyed a building! Everyone in the first wave died except me and one other! Believe me!"

"That video proves nothing! It was probably a pre-planted bomb."

"Exactly! This is my special weapon for that kid. One move, and he's dead." A man with a Gatling gun and ammo strapped to his back boasted.

"Haha! And my rocket launcher! I can flatten a tank!"

"You..." The survivor stopped. "Why don't you believe me? He's a monster! You're going to die!"

"Scram! We know what you're doing. You're trying to catch the S-Class criminal yourself. If you get in our way, we'll kill you, then that brat."

Hundreds of people marched towards Loki, leaving the survivor to watch them go.

"Hopeless fools," he muttered. They were either Nen beginners who thought they were invincible, or non-Nen users. They probably only knew Loki was an S-Class criminal and hadn't investigated him.

Or they wanted to, but couldn't afford the information. Every piece of information on Loki, on Hunter or black market sites, cost a fortune.

"A few hundred of us can't handle one kid. We'll flatten this place if we have to."

As they approached the building, their confidence soared. But at the entrance, they heard violent noises.

"Someone's fighting inside!"

"Probably other hunters after the S-Class criminal."

"Doesn't matter. That criminal's head is mine!" A one-eyed man kicked open the door.

Basho, hit by Goki, flew into the crowd, knocking over several people. He wondered why it didn't hurt. He saw a man unconscious beneath him.

Basho looked at the crowd. "Who are you?"

They were about to attack when someone saw Goki fighting Kurapika.

"What kind of monster is that?!"

Everyone turned to look at Goki.

"Is that a human? What's wrong with its body?"

A Nen user, a large man, stepped forward.

"Idiots! Don't you know what that is?"

Everyone looked at him. The man smiled. "That's a Nen Beast, a special Nen ability."

"A Nen Beast!" The non-Nen users were confused.

Some Nen users stepped forward. "It's just a Nen Beast. Nothing to fear."

Boom! Goki punched the ground. The earth shook. Those who'd felt confident stared at the crater, swallowing nervously.

"That Nen Beast is incredibly strong!"

"Hmph! I bet my rocket launcher's stronger. Watch this!" Someone fired a rocket at Goki. Boom! Flames erupted.

"Die, monster! This'll blow through tank armor!"

Kurapika turned to the crowd, fixing his gaze on the man who'd fired the rocket. 'Idiot,' he thought. The smoke cleared, and Goki stood unharmed, slowly turning towards the entrance.

The smiling faces froze.

"That monster's unharmed?"

"Impossible! That rocket can destroy a tank!"

Goki took a step towards the crowd. 'That's a bad move,' Kurapika thought, drawing a deep breath.

Roar! Goki roared, a terrifying sound wave erupting. Dong dong dong dong! He charged. While Goki's size made him slow for most Nen users, it wasn't slow for this crowd.

They didn't react; they forgot to dodge. As Goki was about to hit them, whoosh! chains flew out. Boom! Goki's chest was pierced, and he stopped, motionless, before dissolving into white light.

Kurapika retracted his chains, the red glow in his eyes fading. Basho approached him. "Kurapika, you just..."

"My ability," Kurapika replied. Basho didn't press further. The attack was far stronger than before, but seeing Kurapika's expression...
