HP: Hogwart's Journey

Chapter 27: CHAPTER 27 - The Champion

Suddenly, Charlie felt a flash of gold in front of his eyes. He saw the Golden Snitch! Although he didn't know why it was hovering motionless in front of the Hufflepuff stands, Charlie had no time to think about it. He crouched low on his broomstick and sped up—faster, faster!

While no one was looking in his direction, Robert quickly tucked his wand away. Although he wasn't skilled at flying, his excellent dynamic vision allowed him to spot something small zipping by in front of him. As he was sitting in the front row, he instinctively cast a spell without thinking. By the time he realized it was the Golden Snitch, he could only innocently shrug, saying, "It's its fault, I didn't mean to stop it! It flies so fast, I'm just a first-year. How could I have hit it? It was fate, truly! And I only used a jinx; it just stopped on its own!"

Charlie moved quickly, and as the Slytherin Seeker was distracted by watching his teammate toy with Gryffindor's Chasers, a loud cheer erupted behind him. Charlie didn't slow down, so when he finally caught the Golden Snitch, he crashed hard into the Hufflepuff stands, tearing their banner to pieces! The banner read "Gryffindor will win!" in red and gold.

The badgers cheered as they helped Charlie out of the tangle of bed-sheet banners and threw him up into the air to celebrate Gryffindor's victory over Slytherin—as though the championship eventually went to Hufflepuff!

Charlie, dazed from the fall, was surrounded by the little badgers and then by Gryffindor's lions. Thankfully, the banner had absorbed most of the impact, so Charlie didn't seem to be hurt, just a little dizzy.

The Slytherins looked as though they had been force-fed something unpleasant. If they had won the championship, the House Cup would have been theirs for sure. After all, they were so close to achieving a five-year streak!

Charlie had become a hero to both Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. He was taken to the hospital wing, as Madam Pomfrey insisted he rest there for the night to ensure his head wasn't injured. She shooed all the visiting students out of the room.

The night belonged to Gryffindor! At dinner, the little lions chattered excitedly about the match, still thrilled from beating Slytherin.

Back in the common room, they even held a celebration. However, compared to the joyous atmosphere in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff was even livelier. They had somehow managed to get their hands on a huge amount of sweets, which nearly covered their entire common room. Professor Sprout had canceled their observation logs for the week and sent over a plant that looked perfect for a celebration—it exploded in bursts of colorful fireworks in the air!

Robert remembered the sodas he had asked Cliff to bring earlier, and he shared them with his classmates. Although the wizarding world was curious about this sweet drink, they didn't quite enjoy the aftereffects, similar to burping potion. It seemed that carbonated drinks wouldn't have much of a future in the wizarding world.

The badgers partied until late. Considering they had Potions class the next day, they all eventually scurried off to bed.

Once his roommates were asleep, Robert sneaked out. The twins were already waiting for him on the eighth floor. When they saw Robert, they eagerly walked over.

"Hey, Robert, you said you found a cool place to show us?" Fred asked, eyes wide. "Is it fun?"

"Don't worry, it's pretty interesting. I've been there for almost a semester!" Robert said confidently, patting his chest. "It's on the eighth floor, across from the tapestry of the Barnabas trying to teach the Troll ballet."

"Huh? You mean that room?" Fred looked skeptical. "Isn't that a storage closet? I think I found a broomstick in there once."

George was equally dubious. "We never went back there after that, but I didn't find it all that interesting."

"You've been inside?" Robert was surprised for a moment, then it dawned on him. "Well, you're right here on the eighth floor, and you're always getting chased by Filch. Finding that room isn't so strange."

As Robert led the twins forward, he explained, "It's a magical room. You can only find it if you really want to see it. When it appears, it's always set up just the way you need it."

He led them to the tapestry, where the ogre was still trying to learn ballet from the troll. It was a strange sight, the troll trying to get the ogre to lift a leg when the ogre's massive club was already swinging down at him.

The poor wizard was getting pummeled, sprawled out on the ground groaning. When the ogre noticed them, it curiously sniffed the air, its nose twitching.

"Walk back and forth three times," Robert said, walking between the window and the vase three times.

A wooden door appeared before them. Fred's jaw dropped. "I think we saw this before, but... did that door get bigger?"

"I told you, this room changes," Robert said, pulling the door open and kicking Fred inside. "Hey, George, welcome to Hogwarts' greatest hidden treasure."

With that, he stepped inside.

The enormous room was filled with countless old, broken furniture: magical books, potions, cloaks, hats, slingshots, damaged decorations... Anything you could think of, and some things you wouldn't have imagined, could be found there. The majority of it, though, was broken.

"Hey, Robert, look what I found," Fred called out from behind a broken cupboard, grinning as he held something in his hand.

Curious, Robert reached out, and Fred placed it in his hands. The fluttering sound and frantic flapping told him it was the Golden Snitch.

"Wow!" Robert gasped. "The Golden Snitch! Wasn't that in Professor McGonagall's crate?"

"Well, the Golden Snitch is rare, but Hogwarts couldn't have just had one since it was founded," Fred shrugged. "This one's probably from a previous match. It might even be mentioned in *The Magical Quidditch*."
