Chapter 25: CHAPTER 25 - I've Been Included in the School History!
Even though Robert wasn't exactly thrilled about it, he was still recorded in the school's history for proposing the so-called magical snowball fight competition. While the first competition didn't have a winner, Robert still felt quite pleased. At least, he had an amazing time in the snowball fight. As for his skills, well, the spells had increased his proficiency a little, but nothing extraordinary.
"Looks like I need to stir up some trouble again," Robert thought to himself as he stuffed the last book into his suitcase.
He grabbed his luggage, climbed out of the common room, and made his way downstairs. At the hall's entrance, he bumped into the Weasley twins and Lee. The Weasley twins were heading home for Christmas, as their older brother Bill had returned. Percy had already left early, and they'd probably meet him on the train. Since Charlie had become the Head Boy, he needed to look after the first-years and might stay at school. Christmas was a time for family reunions, and Robert really hoped Charlie could manage to leave school.
"You're a celebrity now, Robert!" Fred shouted as soon as they hopped into the carriage. Robert was a little worried that Fred might scare the Thestrals pulling the carriage.
George was equally excited. "Mum says it's an honor to have your name in *Hogwarts: A History*. She asked us to send her congratulations. By the way, are you coming to the Burrow this summer?"
Robert hesitated for a moment before replying uncertainly, "Actually, I have relatives in Flower Country. It's been a while since we've been in touch, and Elsa thinks I should visit them during the summer."
Fred looked disappointed. "That's really unfortunate. I was telling Mum that I'd bring you along."
Robert felt a bit embarrassed. "Maybe next year?"
George also sounded regretful. "We were actually planning to take you to the Quidditch World Cup."
"???" Robert was stunned, then realized what they were talking about — the 1990 Quidditch World Cup!
"This year it's in Flower Country," Fred explained. "Dad's trying to get tickets. It'd be perfect if you could come along too!"
Robert was amazed. He hadn't expected to hear something so exciting. "A cross-country trip... for Quidditch?!" he thought.
Fred sighed. "This is such a rare opportunity."
Actually, in a few years, they would be taking a trip to Egypt because Mr. Weasley had won 700 Galleons, and they'd uncover something pretty big. Speaking of money, didn't Mrs. Malkins complain before that the twins were no longer bringing in enough business? Robert had suggested she look for different types of people to be brand ambassadors, so she could launch different styles of clothing. He wondered if her store's profits had picked up by now.
The Hogwarts Express was fast, and by the afternoon, Robert had arrived at King's Cross Station. Elsa and Cliff were already waiting for him on the platform. After bidding farewell to the Weasley family and their friends, the three of them headed back to their home in London.
"Elsa loved the little garden, so we bought it," Cliff said, introducing their new home and casually mentioning some recent matters. "There might still be some issues with your custody, so we need to go to Flower Country. Your aunt suggests you visit this summer. Oh, and this is your document."
Robert received a letter showing that he owned 20% of [Simplified Life] Convenience Store. That seemed like quite a lot!
Cliff, with a tone full of playful complaint, said, "Since the idea was yours, you get a larger share. As the designer, I only have 10%! But don't worry, since you're not of age, I'll hold onto your shares for now."
Robert thought about it and said, "I don't really need that much money. After all, I'll be living in the wizarding world, and I might not even be able to spend these Muggle pounds."
"You'd better keep some of the pounds just in case. You can always sell me some of your shares if you like. I can design some stuff for you. Didn't you want to open a small shop? I can help with product packaging, store design, all that. I don't need wizarding money for that," Cliff yawned. "I've got plenty of free time."
Robert thought that might be a good idea, and the two of them discussed it until Elsa called them for dinner.
The Christmas holidays were pleasant. Before Christmas, Robert went to Diagon Alley and packed all his gifts for his friends. He also received quite a few Christmas presents from the Weasley family, Mr. Badger, some older students he was close with, and even Professor Sprout!
His distant relatives from Flower Country had also reached out. Their English was quite good, as they likely specialized in contacting family members abroad. The letter mentioned that Robert should visit Flower Country during the summer, as they would hold a grand ancestor worship ceremony during the Zhongyuan Festival.
Flower Country's magical world had very little formal contact with the wizarding world in the UK, and Robert didn't know what it was like over there. Luckily, the letter came with a stack of books introducing the magical world of Flower Country.
In Flower Country, magic was known as spiritual power, and wizards were referred to as Xuan Masters. Spells were known as techniques, and in official terms, they even had their own special terms for things like wands — "refining tool master" was the term for wizards who made wands. Robert couldn't shake the feeling that he was reading a Martial Arts novel, despite the books being about real-world magic.
"Clapping" his book shut, Robert couldn't help but marvel. "No wonder it's an ancient civilization with 5,000 years of history. The depth is something we can never compare to in this island nation."
The holidays quickly ended, and before heading back, Robert bought some small trinkets and shoes at the shopping street. "Alright, if they're too big, remember to use the shrinking charm. If you fall over, don't blame me!" he thought to himself.
After bidding farewell to Elsa and Cliff, Robert returned to Hogwarts and gave the small gifts he'd bought to the house-elves. They were overjoyed to receive the presents, even though Christmas had already passed.
The second semester was busy. There were year-end exams in June, though Robert wasn't particularly worried about them. The professors, however, were terrified. In fact, he felt that the people most afraid of exams in the school were probably the professors themselves, as seen from the increasing amount of homework.
Meanwhile, the Quidditch matches reached a fever pitch. Every night, Robert saw exhausted Hufflepuff players returning from practice.
Since Robert knew his skills with a broomstick were almost non-existent, he had long since distanced himself from the sport. Not having talent wasn't so bad, but being talentless and still eager to ruin things for others? No, thank you.
Quidditch might be the most popular wizarding sport, but Robert was perfectly content watching the matches and reading books about it rather than actually playing. He'd much rather stay home and work on his 14 rolls of parchment for his history of magic homework to calm his nerves.
