How to raise a Russian Girlfriend!

Chapter 20: Ch. 20 - Solving the Yakuza problem!

A new day has start and his little sister has almost ruined it for him.

Thankfully, after successfully kicking her out of the room, it's time for him to start his daily routine.

After a few sets of workout and exercise, Kenshin took a look at what he got.

[Strength +1]

[Agility +1]

[Durability +1]

[Constitution +1]

"It's getting harder to increase them through training alone. I need real life battles." Kenshin muttered to himself, his tone mixed with a hint of frustration and helplessness.

Although he already expected this but it's still quite annoying that he can't abuse increasing his stats forever through training alone.

He had to increase the intensity of his workouts bu at least three times just to squeeze a single +1 on Strength stat.

If one day he reached the three-digit mark on all of his stats, perhaps even a million push-ups would only give him a single-point increase in his stat.

"Oh right. I still have that Yakuza problem. I don't want them to one day arrive in my doorstep and threaten my family." Muttering to himself, Kenshin finally took a bath.

Of course, only after checking that his little sister is nowhere near the bathroom.

Thanks to the information that he got from the 'little brother' yakuza yesterday, Kenshin boarded a bus en route to Ome city.

Yes, a rural city. Even Kenshin was surprised that a supposed big shot of the Yakuza lives in a rural city.

Either the guy is doing an undercover thing or he simply likes the lifestyle of living in a rural area.

The journey took an hour before arriving at Ome City's bus hub.

After getting off the bus and deciding to rent a bike instead of paying a taxi, Kenshin eventually arrived at the house of the Yakuza Lieutenant.

"….What an average-looking apartment." Kenshin muttered with a raise of an eyebrow as he looked up at the apartment complex building in front of him.

Almost all apartment complexes throughout Japan have a similar appearance.

"According to that guy's memories. This guy considers himself retired but the Yakuza boss he used to work with thinks otherwise." Kenshin narrated the story of the Yakuza lieutenant that he got from the man's memories while walking up the stairs.

At the same time, he wore the same black mask he wore back when he approached Sakamoto.

"Not only this guy used to be the pride of the Yakuza boss but he's also feared across Japan. He was a legendary yakuza who's said to have singlehandedly smashed up 10 of his rival clan's offices in one night, completely unarmed."

Finally arriving in front of an apartment's front door, Kenshin finished his words.

"I think people in Japan calls him the Immortal Dragon!"

Knock!

Knock!

Two knocks in and a few seconds passed before the door finally opens.

A tall and lanky man stood before Kenshin, his hands tucked in his pockets, his outfit consists of a formal attire along with a cream-colored Shiba Inu design apron.

His glasses, combined with small amount of goatee and his posture that looks slightly relaxed and arrogant, made Kenshin confused at who the man in front of him is.

'Who the fuck is this guy and where is the legendary full-body tattooed Yakuza Lieutenant?' Kenshin's face twitched.

"Who are you?" The man in front of him spoke, his tone a mix of suspicion and arrogance.

"I'm looking for the Immortal Dragon. Is he h-?" Kenshin crossed his arms and just as he was about to finish his words, a foot sole appeared and blocked his vision, the gush of air pushing his hair back.

Without much to think about, Kenshin tilted his head to the side.

"I'm retired already. I don't want any Yakuza business in my home, understood?" The househusband, revealed to be the legendary Yakuza he's been looking for, said to him with a threatening tone.

'Hmm. Strong, deserving of his Immortal Dragon title but he falls quite a bit compared to Sakamoto.' Kenshin assessed the man in front of him.

"You misunderstood, Immortal Dragon. I'm not here as the Yakuza. I'm here for the Yakuza. I have a grudge against them and I need all the information I can get. I reckon I would be able to get it from you, no?" Kenshin smiled and replied.

"Hm?" The yakuza stared directly at his eyes, squinting them at the same time.

The two of them went on and stared at each other for an entire minute until someone broke it off and its neither of them.

"Oh, honey! We have a visitor?" Behind Kenshin, a beautiful lady with brown short hair approached them, wearing a business woman attire and an exhausted expression.

However, it became less when she saw Kenshin and Tatsu having a manly conversation.

Though it's more of a staring contest rather than conversation.

"Hey babe." Tatsu's expression quickly went from stern to extremely soft and warm.

Approaching her, Tatsu, as gentleman as he is, went over and grabbed his wife's bag, and took off her coat.

"I'll take these and wash them, rest and I'll cook." Tatsu, contrary to his earlier attitude and background as one of the most feared Yakuza members, assisted his wife like a proper and good househusband.

Outside the door, Kenshin stood and stared at the scene, flabbergasted.

Who is the real Yakuza here?!

"You're Tatsu's friend, right? Please come in. It's rare for him to make friends from around here." His wife, now he knew as Miku after introducing himself earlier, offered him to enter their lovely home.

"S-Sure. Thank you, madam…" Obviously, he couldn't refuse her, so he went inside and was greeted with a tight but warm looking home.

Tatsu, the legendary yakuza, was on the kitchen, cooking on a fry pan however, his eyes were everywhere but the frying pan.

Instead, he was glaring at Kenshin, as if telling him that if he were to do anything that is out of place, he wouldn't hesitate to kick his ass out.

'I'm watching you…' Was what Kenshin read in his eyes.

"So, how long have you been Tacchan's friend? You know, sometimes I feel bad that he's alone in this house while I work, so I'm glad that he still have some kind hearted friends out there that cares for him!" Miku, knowing the background of her husband, explained how his appearance tend to make everyone around them scared of him, decreasing his chances of making friends.

"Say, what's with the black mask? If you're uncomfortable, you don't have to answer." Like a glittered personality, despite being curious about Kenshin's appearance, she still considers his feelings.

'No wonder the legendary yakuza fell for this woman. Even I would if she weren't already taken.' Kenshin mumbled under his breath before replying.

"I'm just cautious about people knowing my identity. You know how society goes, with enough money, you can get all the information you need, whether it's a high-profile individual or an average businessman in an average industry." Kenshin made up a lie on the spot.

"Really? I didn't know that." Miku looked like she only just discovered that such thing exists.

"Yeah, ask your husband about. I'm sure he knows what I'm talking about." Kenshin then proceeds to flash a grin at Tatsu in the kitchen who looked like he was about to explode and throw all the available knives except for the dirty ones that were on the sink.

'Heh, that's what you get for trying to plant your foot on my face earlier.' Was the message that Kenshin was trying to pass to Tatsu through facial expression alone.

'I'll kill you, you latex-mask-wearing bastard!' Was Tatsu's reply to him using the same expression method.

Oblivious to the intensifying facial war going on between her husband and Kenshin, Miku continued to ask more questions to Kenshin, wanting to get to know him.

Eventually, their conversation only came to a halt when Tatsu finally finished cooking and placed two bowls on the table, only for him and his wife.

"Where's mine?" Kenshin asked with an innocent face, though he already know the answer that Tatsu will give him.

"Oh? I'm sorry, I didn't know you actually want to eat. There's a bowl in the cabinet, help yourself." Flashing a smug face to Kenshin, Tatsu felt like the victory now belongs to him!

"Tacchan!~ Kenshin-kun is a guest! And isn't your friend? Grab him a bowl also!" Pouting, Miku grabbed Tatsu's ears and pulled, making the fear Yakuza groan in pain.

This time, it was Kenshin's turn to flash the same smug face to Tatsu, taking the victory in the end, with the best assist coming from Tatsu's wife, Miku.

"Okay…" Albeit reluctant, Tatsu went back to the kitchen and fetched Kenshin a bowl filled with his cooking.

The three of them proceeded to eat in silence, with random quips and compliments going towards Tatsu for being such a good cook.

Eventually, Miku offered to wash the dishes even though Tatsu tried to persuade her that he would do it.

Outside the apartment, Tatsu sighed and gave Kenshin a piece of paper.

"Hmm?" Kenshin took it and looked at Tatsu in confusion.

"That's the main headquarters of the Yakuza I used to work with. I'm not sure if that's still their base since it's been years since I retired. That's all I can give you. Consider this payment for making my wife happy and assured that her husband isn't as lonely as she thought I was." Tatsu explained, taking out a cigar from his pocket and was about to light it up when he seemed to remember something before dropping the cigar and stomped on it.

"I see. Thank you then." Kenshin nodded his head at him in gratitude before leaving.

However, Kenshin stopped in his tracks and turned slightly around.

"You have a good wife, Tatsu. I'm glad you chose her over the Yakuza. Because you just saved your own life." With a smirk, Tatsu felt the intense pressure emanating from Kenshin.

Before he could register it, the man has already turned around and left through the stairs, leaving Tatsu alone.

"Saved my life, huh?" Tatsu mumbled to himself before chuckling and went back to his apartment.

"Is he gone?" Peeking through the bathroom door, Miku asked him.

"Yes."

"Hehe~ good." Before Tatsu could react, Miku grabbed him and pulled him towards the bathroom with her.

"I guess you deserve a reward then, Tacchan~"

***

"Yamaguchi-gumi…" Kenshin muttered the name of the Yakuza group written on the small paper that Tatsu gave him.

"One of the wealthiest and biggest Yakuza in Japan. Didn't know I was targeting a huge fish." He smirked.

But does that mean he would retreat and let bygones be bygones?

Absolutely not. You know, a pet dog will continue to bite its owner's hand unless you discipline them.

That's what's Kenshin is going to do.

He won't wipe them off, that would obviously leave a power vacuum between all the Yakuza groups in Japan and cause extreme chaos.

Instead, he'd discipline them and let them know who to mess with and who should they not mess with.

"I guess I'll have to go and visit Greater Tokyo." Kenshin stretched his limbs and entered the train station.

'Though before that. I'll try to see if there's any nearby cursed spirits. I'm not satisfied with my current stats. It's too weak if I want to storm the headquarters of a big Yakuza group.'
