[Chapter 114: Cecilia]

On Hollywood Boulevard, at the Rex Apartments, Link parked the car in front of the building. He rested his arm on the window and observed the ebb and flow of pedestrians on the street.

There were people of all kinds: some dark, some light, some beautiful, some not so much; there were those who seemed happy and others who looked depressed. If he had the time and interest, he might delve into their lives. After all, each person's story could easily be turned into a decent movie.

But then Link shook his head; these folks were too ordinary. Even if their lives were brought to the silver screen, how many audiences would actually care?

After about ten minutes, Lily emerged from the apartment, wearing a plain, fitted dress and letting her long dark hair hang loose. Despite her minimal makeup, she still exuded natural charm. A little girl followed her, about four or five years old, dressed in a pink jacket and blue skirt, with curly hair and an adorably pudgy face.

"Hello, Uncle Link!" the little girl greeted sweetly, bouncing up to the front of the car.

"Hi there, Cecilia! What did you learn in school today?" Link asked with a warm smile.

"I had English class, art class, and piano class!" she replied with enthusiasm.

"Do you like going to class?" he inquired.

"I don't like it; I love it!" she corrected herself, her big eyes darting quickly to Lily as if she understood the need to be more sensible.

"Cecilia is smart, just like me," Link said as he ruffled the little girl's hair.

"What does her intelligence have to do with you, you shameless guy!" Lily teasingly nudged Link as she laughed.

[T/N: The rest of the chapter is about meeting the Chinese friends, authentic Chinese food, etc. The friends whom they are supposed to meet are the actors from the movie The Last Emperor.]
