Chapter 82: Chapter 83: Might Guy's Reward for Improvement
"Climbing trees requires precise control over your chakra. You need to find that sense of anchoring and maintain it steadily to remain attached to the tree."
"Water, on the other hand, is fluid. Don't apply your experience from tree climbing directly to walking on water. Focus on sensing the water's movement and c
"And don't underestimate the importance of practicing your hand signs. The speed of forming hand signs is critical; casting a jutsu faster than your opponent could give you a significant advantage."
In the training field, Mukai moved around, providing guidance to each group.
It was Friday afternoon. After several days of conducting these lessons, Mukai had grown accustomed to the flow and wa
Mukai also encouraged his students to exchange ideas with one another. "Sometimes, the solution to a challenge you're stuck on can emerge from a discussion with someone else."
The summer training sessions were designed with a more relaxed structure. Unlike theoretical classes where students were confined to desks, here they had the freedom to move around.
Gradually, the students adapted to
Initially, Anko found it a bit overwhelming to spend the entire day training. However, after a few days, she grew accustomed to it. The schedule consisted of two major sessions in the morning and afternoon, with a half-hour break in between. But Mukai wouldn't interfere if someone needed to rest during the sessions.
"I really want to get into Group B by Monday's afternoon test! Shisui is already in Group A. If I, the second in our grade, remain in Group C, it would be so embarrassing," Anko confessed to her two friends during their break.
"It's not that we don't support you, Anko, but right now, you're not at Group B's level," Kotetsu said bluntly.
"I've seen Ebisu-senpai train. He's much stronger than you think."
Izumo nodded in agreement. "Plenty of fourth-years are still in Group C. Hoping to jump to Group B after just a few days of training is a bit of wishful thinking."
"Who's Ebisu?" Anko asked, scratching her head. It seemed her friends had suddenly gained a new "big brother" she didn't know about.
"A fourth-year senior currently in Group B. He's incredibly strong and a true genius," Kotetsu explained.
"Hmph! Go ahead, underestimate me! I'll train hard over the weekend and prove you wrong!" Anko declared, her hands on her hips.
Kotetsu and Izumo exchanged uneasy glances. The thought of Anko surpassing them and entering Group B was far more troubling than failing the test themselves.
"Come on, we're just kidding, Anko! You're the strongest female student in our year. That test will be a piece of cake for you!"
Both quickly tried to pacify her, worried that her determination might lead to something unexpected.
[Completed a Large Class Training Session]
[Evaluation: A]
[Reward: Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall, Water Style: Water Prison Jutsu]
"Double rewards as expected," Mukai thought to himself.
Earlier, when he noticed that the B-grade reward for chakra was doubled, he speculated that the A-grade reward might involve two jutsu.
In truth, Mukai would've preferred receiving duplicates of the same jutsu to speed up his mastery. But even with different ones, it wasn't a bad deal. Four jutsu in a day, assuming consistent A-rank evaluations, would allow him to amass an impressive arsenal quickly. His disciples would never run out of jutsu to learn.
After class, Mukai returned to the main district to finalize the details of Saturday's sweet and sour squirrelfish cooking lesson with Kushina. Once done, he headed back to the Southern Forest to continue instructing his disciples.
Might Guy and Shisui were still diligently training in the art of "Soru."
Although both had managed to execute it to some extent, neither had fully mastered it yet. According to the system's criteria, simply using a technique wasn't enough for it to be considered "learned." True mastery required consistent and effective application, akin to casting a proper Fireball Jutsu instead of merely spitting out sparks.
Even so, the basic version of "Soru" had Guy ecstatic.
Using the rapid, chakra-enhanced bursts in his legs, Guy moved several meters in an instant, delivering a high-speed kick that snapped a tree in two.
"This speed is incredible! If I deliver a kick like this to Kakashi, would he even be able to react?" Guy exclaimed, brimming with excitement.
However, he quickly reminded himself that Kakashi could also use the Body Flicker Technique. Motivated, Guy redoubled his training efforts.
[Your disciple Might Guy has shown dedication in training and improved significantly under your guidance. Reward: Finger Pistol (Proficient Level)]
"Guy triggered a reward too. Now it's just Obito left," Mukai thought as he glanced at Obito, who was practicing chakra nature transformation.
Lately, Obito had been working harder than ever, likely spurred by seeing Guy and Shisui practicing "Soru" together while he trained alone. Wearing weights during the day and running tirelessly, it seemed Obito's reward was on the horizon as well.
Mukai immersed himself in the system's detailed instructions for "Finger Pistol."
Like "Soru," the system had adapted it into a chakra-based taijutsu. To test its effectiveness, Mukai focused chakra into his index finger and pierced through a large rock, leaving multiple small holes with ease.
"It's similar to the Third Raikage's Hell Stab. Adding lightning chakra to it could greatly enhance its power," Mukai concluded.
"I wonder what reward Obito will unlock," Mukai pondered.
If Obito's reward were another technique from the Six Powers, Mukai hoped it would be "Geppo" (Moon Walk).
Flight capabilities were rare in the ninja world and provided a significant advantage. Though not true flight, "Geppo" would allow him to leap to incredible heights.
After finishing his chakra nature practice, Obito decided not to head home but instead proposed a night run with Shisui and Guy.
Both eagerly agreed, and the three set off together.
"Haha! Obito, have you finally realized that youth thrives through training?" Guy asked, giving him a thumbs-up. His gleaming white teeth shone brightly in the moonlight.
"Enough with the youth nonsense! I just want to improve my taijutsu and finally learn the Body Flicker Technique," Obito replied, exasperated.
Watching the two train in "Soru" while he struggled with nature transformation felt like doing homework while his friends gamed. It was unbearable.
"Keep it up. I'm sure Mukai-sensei is looking forward to your success," Shisui encouraged.
Shisui felt that Mukai wasn't intentionally neglecting Obito but was instead laying the groundwork for teaching him "Soru."
"Yeah! On Sunday, I'll challenge myself again!" Obito declared with renewed determination.
A hundred practice questions couldn't stand in the way of Uchiha Obito's progress!
