Hokage Teacher: With Dimensional Teacter System

Chapter 51: Chapter 52: The Difference Between Teachers

"This is what happened. This morning, during my class, I conducted a practical exam within the class," Mu Yue explained to Kamimura Toshihiro.

However, Mu Yue slightly embellished the students' complaints to avoid making them sound too harsh.

"I just wanted to motivate them, to make them take their training more seriously. I never expected something like this to happen. I'm truly sorry," Mu Yue said with an apologetic look.

"It's my fault for being too strict with my evaluations; I should have been more lenient with them," Mu Yue continued, placing all the blame on himself.

Although it was Kamimura Toshihiro's own teaching ability that led to the students' complaints, Mu Yue chose to take the responsibility. He wanted to maintain his image and avoid giving any impression of malicious intent, so he directly explained everything to Kamimura and apologized, portraying the situation as a well-intentioned mistake.

Even if the entire situation was unraveled, Mu Yue would not be seen as someone with ulterior motives, because he immediately informed Kamimura of what happened. A person who cared so much for his colleagues could hardly be suspected of anything bad.

"Well…" Kamimura Toshihiro didn't know what to say. He knew that the students were right. His teaching level was not comparable to Mu Yue's, who had quickly gained recognition from both students and staff after only teaching for a short time. The Third Hokage had even praised him.

Kamimura himself was a relatively average teacher. How could he possibly compare to Mu Yue? The latter was a new instructor who had quickly gained fame, received the approval of everyone, and even been commended by the Third Hokage. Kamimura was just a regular teacher, and trying to compete with Mu Yue would be an exercise in futility.

"I've already told them to stop criticizing you, but, well, they're just kids. They'll say one thing on the surface, but you never know what they actually think," Mu Yue sighed and gave Kamimura an apologetic look.

"It's fine, I'm not concerned. After all, they're just six-year-old kids," Kamimura said with a cheerful smile.

Even though Kamimura had been criticized by the students, he wasn't about to give up his position as the body techniques instructor for Class 1. After all, the class had excellent practical results, consistently ranking in the top two in the year, and their overall scores were the highest in their grade.

Though Kamimura knew these achievements had little to do with his teaching, the results spoke for themselves. He had nothing to worry about in terms of performance, and his bonus would only increase.

"I know, Ueno-sensei, you're doing this for the students," Kamimura said, showing that he understood Mu Yue's good intentions.

Despite the incident, Kamimura still thought of Mu Yue as a kind colleague who, when something happened, immediately came to explain and apologize.

This morning, Kamimura was supposed to teach his body techniques class, but he had a personal matter, so he switched his lesson with Mu Yue's afternoon class. Mu Yue had agreed immediately. Kamimura had heard that Mu Yue often substituted for other teachers. He was amazed by Mu Yue's flexibility and thought to himself that he couldn't possibly do this himself. It was manageable once or twice, but if it happened every week, it would be exhausting.

Mu Yue's high teaching level, the top-notch class results, the praise from the Third Hokage, his good looks, and his kind nature made Kamimura realize why the female teachers in the office were constantly discussing Mu Yue.

Kamimura knew the root cause of the situation. He was fully aware that his teaching ability was simply average. This was how things had been for many years.

But Kamimura had no intention of voluntarily giving up his position as the body techniques instructor for Class 1. Teaching at the Ninja Academy was supposed to be a way to make money with no danger, and this was a chance to earn a substantial bonus while barely breaking a sweat.

"Kamimura-sensei, now that I know you feel this way, I can rest easy," Mu Yue said with a relieved smile.

"Haha, if you have time, let's grab a drink at an izakaya sometime," Kamimura said, also smiling.

Mu Yue nodded with a smile, and after a brief conversation, he found an excuse to leave.

Back in his office, Kamimura was asked by one of the female teachers:

"Kamimura-sensei, did Ueno-sensei come to see you about something?"

"It's nothing, just some small matters with the students. But Ueno-sensei is really a stand-up guy," Kamimura said as he sat down.

It wasn't easy for Kamimura to admit that his teaching wasn't up to par and that the students had been openly criticizing him. However, he was glad to use Mu Yue's name to spark some conversation with the female teachers.

When the class bell rang, Kamimura made his way to Class 1.

Entering the classroom, Kamimura didn't feel much had changed. As usual, he began with some theoretical knowledge about body techniques before taking the students outside for a run.

After the run, Kamimura began teaching the body technique forms. After demonstrating them once, he allowed the students to practice on their own.

"Kamimura-sensei, can you demonstrate a few more times? I didn't really understand it the first time," Akamame asked.

"These are just the basics. If you don't understand, it means you haven't practiced enough. Just practice more," Kamimura replied.

"But Ueno-sensei always demonstrates many times and breaks it down in great detail," Akamame countered.

"Ninjutsu and body techniques aren't the same," Kamimura explained.

"But body techniques also have many practical details. Shouldn't those be explained in detail?" Tetsu asked.

Kamimura was speechless. As a middle-level ninja, how could he possibly know so many practical techniques and details? He just gave a vague response.

Then, a lot of students began asking questions and offering suggestions.

"Stop, stop! You can all train now, and we'll address your questions in the next class!" Kamimura said, feeling overwhelmed with dozens of students firing questions at him.

"Kamimura-sensei, how about we all compromise? We won't ask any more questions, and you won't teach us either," Shinmozu proposed.

Kamimura stared at Shinmozu, confused. Were the students really this bold? Asking the teacher to stop teaching?

But what came next was even more aggressive.

"Kamimura-sensei, I think you should retire soon. I've never hit the target with your shuriken throwing lesson."

"Kamimura-sensei, since taking your body technique classes, the whole grade has been saying our class is great at ninjutsu."

Kamimura was stunned by the students' blunt remarks. He had been teaching for over three years, but this was the first time he had faced such direct hostility.

He realized that if Mu Yue hadn't warned him earlier, he would have been completely blindsided by these comments.

"Cough, cough. Everyone, quiet down. I'll demonstrate a few more times," Kamimura said helplessly.

But then, Kamimura noticed something interesting: despite the students' discontent, their training didn't stop. In fact, they seemed more focused than before.

Kamimura thought that Mu Yue's influence might be at play, and that although the students were dissatisfied with him, they didn't dare slack off in their training.

Kamimura couldn't help but feel a sense of envy and admiration for Mu Yue's ability to command such authority over the class.

"Let's just get through this year," Kamimura thought to himself, unwilling to give up his position as the body techniques instructor for Class 1. He hoped to be able to find a way to become a better teacher.

If this were an ordinary class, he would have reprimanded the students for speaking so disrespectfully. But this was Class 1, the best-performing class in the school.

The more Kamimura taught, the more the students realized his lack of skill, and their resolve to get a new teacher grew stronger.
