Chapter 45: Half of me

One week later, Liz returned to the country with herin, still without her memory. However, she remembered her father but couldn't recall her stepmother.

"Hi, Liz," Katharine said, trying to get along with Liz because she knew she didn't remember her again.

"Hey, what's up?\" she replied.

"I know you don't remember me. I'm—\" Katharine wanted to introduce herself, but Liz cut in.

"Katharine, stepmom's younger sister," Liz said.

"How did you know?\" Katharine thought she remembered her.

"Dad told me about you,\" she replied, and Katharine faked a smile.

"Okay, hope we can get along,\" Liz said and walked out. Katharine stared at her as she walked to the stairs, still unable to believe Liz had said that. She thought to herself that it was good Liz had lost her memory; maybe it would be better than before.

Light shone at Favorite Musical High School. Bianca was in her room, applying some makeup to her face, preparing for the club when she heard a gentle knock on her door. She thought it was Jay, but she was surprised to see Herin when she opened the door. She was so happy that she jumped and hugged him.

"Herin, you are back!\" she said with excitement.

"Yes,\" Herin replied with a smile.

"What about Liz?\" she asked.

"We arrived together,\" he replied.

"Jay will be happy to hear this. I need to let him know,\" she said, a smile playing around her face. But Herin's face fell.

"You don't need to tell him,\" he said in a hard voice.

"Why? He has been disturbing me for so long, and you know their relationship,\" she explained.

"I know, and you also know her condition and you know whose fault it is. She is just getting better, and I don't want her to be hurt again,\" Herin explained.

"Yes, I understand, but Jay needs to know,\" Bianca insisted.

"Bianca, I thought Liz was your best friend and you wouldn't see her in pain,\" Herin raised his voice.

"Herin, don't tell me you don't want Liz to remember Jay,\" Bianca raised a thought.

"Bianca, you need to understand me,\" Herin said with a cool voice.

"Okay, but we need to tell him,\" Bianca insisted.

"I'm am not here for you to inform Jay,\" Herin raised his voice.

"Okay, I understand you, but I will do what pleases me,\" Bianca said and entered, shutting the door. Herin was angry and left the the door.

"What kind of person is that?\" Bianca said as she walked to pick her phone off the bed and dialed Jay's number. Luckily, he picked it up.

"Jay, we need to see,\" she said, and Jay promised to see her in short minutes. Not long after, Jay arrived, and Bianca opened the door for him. He entered and sat on her bed.

"What's wrong, Bianca? Is Liz back?\" he asked.

"Yes, she is back,\" Bianca replied.

Jay was happy; he held his head and smiled.

"At last!\" he said.

"I need to see her,\" he said.

"The problem there is that you can't see her now because of her condition, and she will see you as a stranger. You need to be patient,\" she explained.

"But I need to see her. I miss her so much,\" Jay said with a soft voice.

"Don't worry; I will pay her a visit tomorrow at her house to know her health, and I pray she recognizes me,\" Bianca said.

"Okay, you go and see her. Anything you hear from her, let me know, please,\" he said, and Bianca assured him.

The next day at Mr. Bezos' house, Bianca was at the gate, waiting for the security to open the door. Not long after, the security came out.

"Who are you?\" he asked, as if he didn't know her.

"You won't tell me you don't know I'm Liz's friend,\" she said.

"I was told not to allow you inside,\" the security said.

"You must be joking,\" Bianca said with a fake smile.

"Maybe you should call Herin or Mr. Bezos and tell them I'm here to see my friend,\" Bianca said. Not long after, Herin's car drove to the gate. When Bianca saw him, she walked to him to explain what was going on, but Herin didn't give her an ear. He rolled down the window.

"Have you told Jay about Liz?\" he asked.

"Sure,\" she replied.

"I explained everything to Mr. Bezos, and he said you should not come to visit Liz again because he didn't want to see her in pain again,\" he said. Bianca was mad at him.

"You can't be serious, and I think you're joking,\"she said with a soft voice.

"I think Liz will be okay without seeing Jay again,\" he said and rolled up his window. The driver drove inside the house. Bianca was speechless and didn't believe what was happening.

Inside the mansion, Herin came out of the car and saw Liz, who was standing in front of the car. Herin walked to her; he saw Liz's reaction that she was bothered by something.

"What's wrong?\" he asked with concerns.

"I had some maids talking about someone who was here to see me, and the security didn't allow her in,\" she explained.

"You don't need to worry about that,\" he said, trying to confuse her.

"Did you see the person?\" she asked.

"Yes, it was some beggars, and I have given them some money,\" he said. Liz believed him, and they walked in together.

At the favorite hostel, Bianca explained everything to Jay. He was angry.

"I know Herin will try to steal her from me," he said angrily.

"I don't believe Herin will act like this. I'm so disappointed," she said and sat on her bed.

"I need to see her," Jay said.

Light shone at Mr. Bezos' mansion.

Liz was in her room, lying down and reading a novel. Katharine entered her room without knocking.

"Hi, girlfriend," Katharine said and walked to her on the bed. Liz raised her head and smiled.

"Hi, Katharine," she said, sitting up as Katharine sat beside her.

"What's wrong?" she asked when she saw Liz's reaction.

"Nothing," she replied with a fake smile.

"You don't need to hide anything from me. Moreover, we are friends, not only friends but family now," Katharine explained.

"Katharine, I don't think everything is right," Liz confessed.

"What is bothering your mind?" she asked curiously.

"I think my dad and Herin are hiding something from me," she explained

"Ahh…\"Ahem," she was speechless.

"Also, I think I am not complete. Half of me is missing, and I don't know what it and is, which makes me sad," she explained her feelings.

"You don't need to bother think about your health, " she tried to avoid her questions.

"Katharine, can we hang out tonight without herin or any bodyguards coming with us?" she asked.

"No problem, I will tell my sister, and I know she will confuse your father," she assured her.
