Chapter 3: CH 3
Su Hai's Confession – A Means to an End
After Rias politely rejected his confession, Su Hai didn't care at all.
At that moment, all of his focus was on the Sword of Oath Victory inside his System Space.
A faint smile appeared on his face. After all, his confession wasn't genuine—his true goal had been to unlock the golden egg's reward.
"Since that's the case, I'll take my leave, Rias-san. I hope we can be friends in the future."
Hearing this, Rias nodded politely, not thinking much of it.
However, Akeno and Rias both noticed something odd—Su Hai showed no sadness at all from being rejected.
In fact, he looked… happy?
Neither of them had ever seen someone confess and look even more excited after being turned down.
"Strange…" Rias muttered as she watched him walk away.
Su Hai, on the other hand, was practically giddy with excitement.
"The legendary Sword of Oath Victory… I need to go home and check it out!"
With that thought in mind, he hurried home.
A Dangerous Encounter in the Alley
Due to the time spent following Rias and setting up his confession, it was already nightfall when Su Hai finally arrived near his residence.
But this didn't dampen his excitement over acquiring the Sword of Oath Victory.
However…
Just as he was passing through a dark alley, a strange chewing sound reached his ears.
"Crack… Click… Chomp…"
Su Hai's enhanced senses from his Breath of Thunder training made it impossible to ignore.
It was the sound of something hard being crushed to pieces—and it was coming from the depths of the alley.
Curious and slightly cautious, Su Hai turned to look.
And then… he saw it.
"Oh~? Another snack has arrived!"
"How lucky! You walked right into my trap~!"
Deep in the alley, a monstrous figure emerged from the shadows.
Su Hai's pupils contracted sharply as he took in the horrifying sight before him.
It was a Fallen Angel, but not just any ordinary one.
Her upper half resembled a beautiful woman in revealing attire, but her lower half was that of a grotesque spider-like creature.
Blood dripped from the corners of her mouth, and traces of a fresh corpse still clung to her lips.
She had just finished her previous meal—and now, her gaze was locked onto Su Hai.
"Damn… A Fallen Angel?!"
A perverted, cruel smile spread across the monster's face as she licked her lips.
To her, Su Hai was just another helpless human—the next delicious meal.
For a brief moment, Su Hai felt fear creep up his spine.
But then, he took a deep breath and quickly calmed himself.
"Wait… I'm not the same weakling I was before."
His fear vanished.
In a flash, Su Hai reached into his System Space and gripped the handle of his Sun Blade.
As soon as he drew the weapon, his eyes sharpened—his presence transformed entirely.
"A Fallen Angel, huh?"
"Perfect timing. I need to test my new strength."
With a steady breath, Su Hai lowered his stance into a sword-drawing posture.
A cold aura of battle radiated from him.
He inhaled deeply, releasing two pale white misty breaths—his body overflowing with power.
Then, in a calm yet chilling voice, he whispered:
"Breath of Thunder… First Form—Thunderclap and Flash."
A Flash of Lightning
The Fallen Angel snapped.
Feeling mocked by Su Hai's lack of fear, she launched herself forward, charging at him with explosive speed.
She was furious—determined to tear him to pieces.
But unfortunately for her—
The moment she closed in, Su Hai vanished.
"—?!"
In an instant, Su Hai transformed into a streak of golden lightning, disappearing from her sight.
When he reappeared, he was already behind her, his blade returning to its sheath in a slow, controlled motion.
"Huh…?"
The Fallen Angel's face twisted in confusion.
Her vision blurred, her body felt strange.
"Wait… something's wrong."
Her eyelids grew heavy.
Her consciousness faded.
Her head… felt light?
As she struggled to process what happened, she looked down at the ground—and saw a headless body.
Her own body.
Before she could even comprehend the reality, everything faded into darkness.
Her severed head rolled across the pavement—lifeless.
A Strange Reward
"Ding!"
"Congratulations, Host! You have obtained [Rias Gremory's Original… Underwear?!]"
"…."
Su Hai stared at the new system notification, his expression blank.
In his hand, a piece of delicate, lace-trimmed fabric rested—still warm.
His mind went completely silent for a full second.
Then…
"DOG SYSTEM! What the hell kind of reward is this?! ('^')"
He clenched the cloth in his fist, his face twitching in disbelief.
"I am a righteous, dignified man! How dare you pollute my noble soul with this nonsense?!"
Despite his angry rant, he quickly stored both the Sun Blade and the mysterious garment back into his System Space.
"…It would be a waste to throw it away, and littering is bad for the environment."
Muttering to himself, Su Hai shoved his hands into his pockets and casually walked away—as if nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, in the Gremory Household…
In a large, elegant villa at the center of Kuoh Town, Rias Gremory had just finished her evening bath.
Wrapped in a towel, she stepped into her room.
But then—
"…Huh?"
She blinked, looking at her bedroom window.
Her expression darkened.
"Where is my… underwear?"
She had left it hanging to dry, yet it had mysteriously vanished.
A feeling of suspicion crept into her mind.
A New Player Arrives
Back in the alley where Su Hai had left, the air was still thick with blood.
A few moments later, a young man with blonde hair stepped into the scene.
His blue eyes narrowed as he examined the corpse.
"…It's already dead?"
This was Kiba Yuuto, a Knight of the Gremory household.
As he inspected the clean, precise wound on the body, his expression hardened.
"Strange… This wasn't done by an ordinary exorcist."
After disposing of the remains, Kiba turned away.
He quickly made his way back to the Gremory mansion, preparing to report to Rias.
Inside the Occult Research Club, Rias, Akeno, and Koneko were already gathered.
As Kiba stepped in, Rias greeted him:
"You've handled it? Thank you for your hard work."
Kiba, however, was still deep in thought.
Something about this attack felt off.
And he had a bad feeling that this was just the beginning.
