Chapter 160: Ice demons (2)
"Do you want to return to the territory of the demons?"
The moment that I said this, all of the ice demons looked at me as if they thought that I was crazy.
However, I just calmly looked back at them as I waited for their response.
After a long silence, the leader of these ice demons finally said, "You think that you can actually do something like that? Who do you think you are?"
"I'm someone that will give you this chance as long as you're willing to hear me out." I said with a smile on my face.
"Then talk." The ice demon said in a voice that was colder than usual.
"I only talk to people that can make decisions and you're not the one that I want to talk to. How about you take me to someone that can actually make decisions?" I said with the same sneer on my face.
The ice demons all narrowed their eyes to look at me, but eventually the leader said, "Stay here and we'll bring them to see you."
"No. Bring me to see them."
"You think that we'll let someone like you in our village?" The leader of the ice demons said in the same cold voice as before.
However, I didn't care as I calmly looked at him as if I was waiting for an answer.
But seeing that he wasn't moving at all, I added, "You couldn't stop me even if you wanted to. Wouldn't it be better to bring me in as a friend rather than having me force my way in?"
They all raised their hands and gathered their ice magic once more, but the leader raised his hand to stop them.
The leader knew that I was right, so it wasn't as if they had a choice in this matter.
In the end, the leader said with a sigh, "Give us some time and we'll bring you back."
This was already the greatest concession that he could make, so I gave a nod.
I knew that they were going to take this time to move the children and women of their tribe away, so I didn't mind. This was the least that I could give them since they were willing to compromise.
At the very least, I wasn't afraid that they would run.
They thought that since I was able to find their home, then I would be able to find them if they were to run. Which meant that there was nothing to gain from trying to run away from me.
It didn't take long before the leader of the ice demons came back to lead me to their home.
When we arrived in the place that the ice demons called home, I could see that it was basically abandoned.
They didn't even try to hide the fact that they had moved everyone away.
After all, there were things that were scattered all over the ground. These were clearly things that had been left behind by the people that had been evacuated in a rush.
The ones that were left in this village would be those that could be sacrificed.
At the center of the village was a large hall that was clearly used by the ice demons for meetings. Sitting in the center of the hall were a group of ice demons that were clearly older than the others.
These were the ice demon elders of this village.
The moment that I walked in, all of them narrowed their eyes to look at me as if they were scoping me out. However, I just calmly looked at them with the same smile that had been on my face the entire time.
The looks on their faces showed that they weren't able to see through me and it frustrated them, but there really wasn't anything that they could do about this.
"What do you want from us?" The one that spoke was the one that was sitting at the center of this hall.
With his position, it was clear that he was the leader of the ice demons.
But the strange thing was that there was a weak aura that came from this ice demon.
This ice demon clearly wasn't the strongest ice demon in this tribe, but it was the leader of the tribe.
It was simply because the ice demons ran on a different form of governing compared to normal demon tribes.
It was because they had been in the land of humans for so long that they had picked up a few things from the humans. So when it came to their leaders, they chose to respect those elders and elect their leaders.
When it came to demons, there were no other demon tribes that would do the same thing as these ice demons.
But these ice demons didn't care since they had been expelled from the demon race in the first place.
However, it wasn't as if I could accept this right away. After all, I was in the form of a demon and had to act like a demon.
"I said that I want to talk to someone that can make decisions, not an old coot like you."
"Ha, ha, ha, well unfortunately for you, this old coot is the one that makes decisions here." The leader of the ice demons didn't seem surprised by my words at all, it even seemed that he found this to be natural.
All of the ice demons had the same expressions as their leader.
It was clear that they had a specific view of me after I said this.
But I didn't mind at all.
I looked at the others that were here and said, "Can you confirm that he's the one that speaks for you all?"
They all nodded in agreement without any hesitation.
Once I saw this, I turned back to look at the leader of the ice demons and said, "It really is strange that an old coot like you can speak for all of them, do you have some kind of special hidden power?"
"Why would I need that? I'm just an old man." The leader said with a shrug.
