HE THINKS I'M A ROBOT

Chapter 3: chapter three

Maya was led to a room filled with various robots. She couldn't help but wonder why the stranger was interested in buying her, a human robot, instead of one of the actual robots.

Mr Samuel instructed Maya to stand in the corner. "Stand there," he told her.

Maya obeyed, standing still as Mr Samuel whispered something to the female employee nearby. The woman was busy working on some equipment, but she looked up and whispered something back to Mister Samuel.

Mister Samuel nodded, then whispered something else to the woman. She glanced over at Maya, her expression unreadable.

The woman walked over to Maya, her expression serious. She wasn't smiling at all. She handed Maya a chair, her movements efficient and businesslike.

Maya took the chair, wondering what was happening next. She sat down, her eyes fixed on the woman, waiting for instructions or an explanation.

the woman pulled out a small box. She removed a contact lens and told Maya, "Stay still."

Maya remained motionless as the woman carefully placed the contact lens in Maya's eye. The woman's hands were steady and precise, her movements practiced.

"What's going on?" Maya asked, but the woman didn't respond. She simply continued to work, her focus on preparing Maya for... something.

As the woman adjusted the lens, she explained, "This is not an ordinary lens. It's a robot lens. If you're asked questions, you'll be able to answer them through this lens. You'll see computer data and be able to respond accordingly."

Maya's eyes widened slightly as she realized the implications. "So, it's like a cheat sheet?" she asked.

The woman nodded. "Exactly. And it's also a way to ensure you don't malfunction during questioning. Unlike a real robot, you won't have a red light indicating you can't answer a question."

Mr Samuel added, "If you're unsure or he's giving you a hard time, just say 'shut down' and bow your head, like I told you earlier. That way, it'll look like your battery is dead."

Maya's concern grew. "Isn't this too risky?" she asked.

Mister Samuel's expression turned serious. "It's risky, but if we don't deliver what he wants, it will be... unpleasant. Trust me, you don't want that."

Maya's curiosity got the better of her. "Who is this person exactly?"

Mister Samuel's expression turned stern. "No more questions."

Just then, two men entered the room, carrying a large, coffin-like box. Maya's eyes widened in alarm.

"Don't tell me I'll be going in that thing," she said, horrified.

Mister Samuel nodded. "Exactly. This is the delivery box we use for our robots. You'll be inside, and we'll deliver you to Mister Livan's house."

Maya's voice rose in panic. "Are you serious? I'll suffocate in there!"

Mister Samuel's expression remained firm. "You have to endure it. That's why we're paying you five million. Just tolerate it for a little while."

The mention of five million dollars once again swayed Maya's decision. She thought to herself, "With that kind of money, I can handle anything."

Maya steeled herself, took a deep breath, and agreed. Then, she stepped into the box, her heart racing with anticipation and fea

It was lifted and placed in a van. As the van arrived at a grand mansion, Maya's anxiety grew. She was sweating profusely, and the iron components under her clothes felt suffocating. But she reminded herself of the five million dollars, and how it would change her life.

As she lay in the box, Maya felt it being lifted again, as if she was floating. The box was carried by the men, and she heard the familiar voice say, "Drop it there."

Maya swallowed hard, wondering why the voice sounded so familiar. The box was placed on the ground, and she heard the footsteps of the men receding into the distance. It seemed they had left her alone.

As the box creaked open, Maya immediately closed her eyes. When the box finally opened, she was greeted by a sweet smell and a ruush of fresh air, her new "owner," levan remembered Mister Samuel's instructions: to activate Maya, he needed to press a button located at the back of her head.

Levan stretched out his hand, searching for the button. Maya's eyes flickered, eager to see who this person was. Suddenly, Livan's fingers found the button, and he pressed it.

Maya's eyes snapped open, and she said, "Hello, I am..." But as she caught sight of Levan's face, she let out a shout.

Quickly regaining her composure, Maya remembered she was supposed to be a robot. "I think there's some malfunction," she said, trying to sound robotic. "Why don't you just press the button at the back of my head and reset me?"

Deep down, Maya was stunned. What the hell? No wonder the voice felt familiar. It was mr levan, her former boss, the one she had worked for and disliked intensely.

Levan, stretched out his hand and clicked the button. Maya quickly closed her eyes, and when he clicked it again, she opened them, gulping hard. For a moment, she hoped she could find a way to exact a little revenge while pretending to be a robot.

But she composed herself, forcing a smile onto her face. In a robotic tone, she said, "Hi, Master. I am Zita. How may I help you?"

Levan gazed at Maya and said, "Oh, you have to come out of the box first."

Maya climbed out of the box and repeated, "How may I help you?"

Levan smiled, seeming to savor the moment. "You know, I need someone to keep me company. First of all, since you're a robot, what can you do?"

Maya accessed the data through the lens fixed in her eyes, quickly scanning her programmed capabilities. "Master, I can cook, clean, and perform various household tasks," she replied.

Levan raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Okay, fine. But I'll be testing you myself to see what you're really capable of.

Maya let out a faint accidental cough. Levan's eyes narrowed. "Did you just cough?" he asked, his voice tinged with suspicion.

Levan quickly grabbed his phone and dialed Mr Samuel's number. "I don't understand the robot I got," he said. "I thought all your robots were quality robots."

Mr Samuel's voice was calm on the other end, but he was internally panicking, wondering if Levan had discovered Maya's true nature.

Levan continued, "Your robot screamed when she saw me. I didn't think much of it, assuming she was malfunctioning. But then I had to reset her, and she behaved. Now, she coughed. Do robots cough?"

Mr Samuel's response was smooth. "Mr levan, you don't understand. Our robots are designed to mimic human-like behavior. They can perform tasks just like humans, and even surpass them in some cases."

Levan grunted, seemingly satisfied with the explanation, and ended the call.
