Chapter 188: Father Magla
Both Nyx and Adam rushed toward the back, though really, it was more like Nyx dragging his ass along. On their way, they passed a few other girls, exchanged quick hellos, then kept it moving.
Eventually, they reached the backdoor. Standing guard was a strange figure.
The man was cloaked in deep red, his face hidden in shadow. It didn't take much for either Adam or Nyx to realize this guy was probably part of some creepy cult.
"Halt there. No one is allowed past this point."
The man spoke in a flat, serious tone.
Nyx and Adam exchanged a glance. Then Adam leaned in and whispered into her ear.
"May I?"
Nyx smirked.
"Sure… go ahead."
With that, she let him go. And Adam walked up to the cloaked man and said cheerfully.
"Hello there, mister. Can we pass, please?"
The man shrugged and replied dryly.
"No one is allowed past this point. Just get lost, kid. There is a very important meeting going on right now."
Adam sighed.
"Shame… I really wanted to do this the easy way. Oh well."
Wha...
FLASH!!
A green light went off, and the man vanished. Just like that, the door was unguarded.
Nyx stepped up beside Adam, blinking in surprise.
"Where did you send him?"
"The Monster World."
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
They looked at each other. Nyx gave Adam a confused, half-concerned look.
"For a kid, you're kinda terrifying, you know that?"
"He didn't want to move, so I moved him myself."
"…What part of the Monster World did you even send him to?"
Adam just shrugged.
"Dunno. Middle of the Black Ocean, I guess. He is as good as dead anyway. Bro's probably a Hollow by now… or Monster food at the very least well on his way to become Monster shit."
"..."
"..."
"..."
"Anyways, let's see what is going on on the other side."
Without another word, Nyx kicked the door… but it didn't budge.
Seeing the issue quickly, Adam commented.
"A dimensional barrier using Spatial Magic, huh… You must have some pretty high magic defense, right Nyx?"
"Kinda, yeah."
She nodded.
"I usually take drugs with anti-magic properties every day. Helps me resist spells. A lot of the supernatural entities the Hellsing Organization deals with when they use magic in combat, some standard, others original, so I've got to stay prepared. Why do you ask? Is there something special about this door?"
Adam stepped closer to it, eyes glowing with interest.
"What an interesting spell... To answer your question, yeah, this barrier's actually pretty advanced despite its simplicity. But I already copied it and figured out how it works."
He placed a hand on the door.
"It's an Original Spell called <Banishment>. Basically, it converts anything from the third dimension into the second dimension and then exiles it there. Brutal stuff. But nothing I can't handle with a bit of Overwrite magic."
With that, Adam began casting his Overwrite spell. As he worked, the barrier shimmered, turned transparent, and then completely faded away, its structure dismantled as Adam erased the spell entirely.
Just like that, the path to the other side of the door was now open.
And with that, Adam was the one who kicked the door open. It blasted off its hinges with a boom, flying straight into two cloaked figures standing just behind it.
"Ghraaa!!...
"Ahhh!!...
They both cried out simultaneously, right before the door slammed into them, knocking them out cold.
Inside the room, three more people remained, one man, and one woman in particular who immediately turned to glare at Adam with disdain.
"Who the hell are you, intruder?"
Like the others Adam had seen tonight, this woman wore a cloak, but hers was barely holding on as is, stretched to its limit by her massive chest and wide hips. Her black mascara and lipstick glinted under the lights, and a glowing purple magic circle formed in her palm.
She had clear, bordering on pale skin, and a craze looked in her eyes.
"It doesn't matter."
She said with a sharp voice.
"Off to interstellar space with your ass."
A spatial warp gate opened beneath Adam's feet. But before it could activate, it shimmered, then abruptly shifted positions and expanded under her instead.
The woman blinked, confused as to why her own magic circle was doing this as she had lost control over it.
"What is this?"
Adam smiled at her confusion, as he voice his thoughts out.
"Not bad, human not bad at all. But in a battle of magic? Very few can match me."
Before she could respond, her own magic circle turned from purple to white, Adam was Overwriting the spell, altering its very code. Space magic became heat magic. Then…
FLASHHH!!
The temperature collapsed around her. The air stilled.
In the next instant, Adam activated <Flash-Freeze> — dropping the temperature in a tightly focused area to -210° Celsius.
The woman's body froze solid in a flash, then shattered into dust as the environment returned to normal.
Nyx turned quickly, calling out to her friend.
"Are you ok ZZ?! You're not hurt, are you?!"
She used Zinee's old puppy name, voice filled with concern.
The dark-skinned woman looked over calmly and replied.
"There was no need for all that, you know… but thanks anyway. I'll explain everything later. For now, at least you give me a negotiating hand here."
"Huh?!"
Nyx blinked in surprise. Zinee only smiled, her chocolate-brown skin gleaming in the light, her single visible eye locking onto the last cloaked man in the room.
From beneath his hood, only a pair of demonic or draconic glowing blue eyes could be seen.
"So tell me, Father Magla."
Zinee said.
"Do you still want to force my hand into selling this place? Because my answer's still no."
However the cloaked figure did not react in panic rather, his reply was calm.
"A pity…
Father Magla said.
"Though the situation has taken… a rather unexpected turn, my vision did not foresee these events, how strange."
Then his gaze shifted to Adam.
"You there. The black-haired boy. You carry the scent of the Demon Berreta."
Adam stared him down.
"Hmm. And if I do, what of it?"
"I see… so the reports were true. Alustus is dead. You must be the new Sidhe King, am I right? By tradition of killing the former king of course."
"…"
"Your silence answers for you. Interesting. I assume you're putting the self-sufficient slave I gifted Alustus to good use? Tell me… have you found the relic yet, I wonder, or you know nothing of it?"
"…"
But yet again Adam did not bother to answer, this guy knows way too much about him, and doesn't know anything of who or what he is.
Sensing his energy he could tell that this bastard was Demon, but strange enough he also has two other weird energies inside him that Adam is not familiar with.
And monster energy too.
But as he focus on this, Father Magla began to speak once more.
"Hmm. Perhaps fate brought us here today. But this is hardly the place to talk."
He turned slightly.
"If your interested looked for the Cult of New Order and we can talk there... with that said... Susan, if you would, get me and the others out of here."
Right then, the woman who had turned to dust earlier suddenly reappeared next to her own body, perfectly intact. Adam's eyes widened in surprise.
"How the hell are you alive, didn't I killed you?"
But he didn't give her time to reply at all.
Rather he just decided it best just to kill her again.
Reacting instantly, he used a memory point and teleported Susan like he did that other guy, this time, directly near the Sun of the human world (or as close as his line of sight reached… somewhere around Mercury).
A green flash of light, and she was gone from the room taking everyone by suprise as everyone here can tell that was not magic.
"…Interesting."
Father Magla murmured.
"That's some advanced teleportation you got there to just teleport an entire human without touching them is quite the scary ability to have. I wonder what kind of monster species you are… Still, it'll take more than that to get rid of Susan."
"Death has a different meaning for that child, if your not affecting her soul loss beyond the reaches of time and space it is pointless."
Suddenly, over thirty clones of Susan teleported into the room from magic circles, surrounding Zinee and Father Magla.
"You bastard! You'll pay for what you did to #235 and #8,738,839!"
One clone shouted as black and purple magic circles began glowing in their hands, spells of Space and Darkness ready to launch.
Adam raised an eyebrow and muttered.
"You will join them soon, here I will help."
Another green flash went of, and just like that, all the clones were gone.
Teleported straight toward the sun.
But the moment he cleared the room, both the two guys he knocked out, and Father Magla was gone leaving only Zinee behind still sitting behind her desk.
