Harry Potter: Using science to be IMMORTAL

Chapter 391: Chapter 390: The Wizarding Union Entrepreneur Support Program

Suppressing the Danish Ministry of Magic didn't take much effort.

On the one hand, they were significantly outnumbered compared to the British Ministry of Magic, and they also happened to hit a timing gap where the Danish Aurors were all stationed at the wizarding prison, leaving the Ministry defenseless. As a result, the Ministry, left with only some non-combat clerical staff, was easily overtaken by Lascim and his team.

Then, waiting leisurely for the Danish Aurors to show up for a fight, they set up a counter-ambush, decimating the rescue team led by Lennstrom and capturing the Minister of Magic, Sorensen.

Sorensen was still waiting for reinforcements from France, but the latter, sensing the unfavorable situation, retreated at the speed of light without sending a single Auror, leaving the Danes in disarray.

"Feels like being used as a pawn, doesn't it?" Lascim brought Sorensen before Murphy, who looked at the Minister of Magic as if he were the village idiot.

"I'm curious, what exactly did they promise you that made you dare to jump against me?"

Sorensen was utterly humiliated and remained silent. Murphy didn't bother with niceties and directly used Legilimency to read his mind.

"…The French didn't even give you a single Galleon, yet you obediently jumped out to take a beating. You're more foolish than Ukraine."

Oh, that's not right. Ukraine is quite obedient now, living happily ever after in the Soviet Union's big family, not foolish at all.

Compared to that, Sorensen really failed to gauge his own weight.

When even France and other wizarding superpowers haven't made a move against Murphy, only sighing from afar, Denmark, with not even two thousand wizards and fewer than sixty Aurors, including the retired and interns, who gave you the courage to challenge me?

For such fools, Murphy felt there was no need to keep them around. After letting Lascim torture Sorensen with a series of Obliviate, Cruciatus, and Avada Kedavra curses, he turned him into a puppet with a loyalty-inducing mental seed.

After all, it wasn't like he had much of a brain to begin with; better to serve as a puppet for me than for the enemy.

Three days later, the Danish Ministry of Magic announced joining the Wizarding Union, adhering to the Union's constitution, with all Danish wizards automatically becoming Union citizens under its governance.

This caused a huge stir among wizards worldwide.

Murphy and the British Ministry of Magic's reputation worsened, but fortunately, the shock tactic worked immediately, significantly showcasing the Wizarding Union's strength and its determination to protect its members. As a result, many wavering opportunists from various countries came forward to join the Union.

Murphy, leveraging his influence in the Muggle world, intended to give all wizards willing to follow him an opportunity to benefit alongside him.

"Mr. Faust, here is your Union membership card. Please keep it safe," said a receptionist on the fifth floor of the Ministry of Magic in underground London, handing a card to a Swiss wizard, "From now on, you are a citizen of the Wizarding Union. At any time, you can call for the Union's assistance through this card, and we will do our utmost to protect your personal safety and legal property from any unlawful harm."

This area, originally the International Magical Cooperation Department, had been transformed into the Wizarding Union's UK office after the Union's establishment.

It mainly handled all matters related to the Wizarding Union, especially for wizards wanting to register as members. The reason these wizards didn't go to the Union's headquarters for registration was that a "headquarters" as such did not yet exist.

To date, the Wizarding Union had not yet established a real government but had only a few nominal leaders, with the entire team still in the process of being formed, largely still led by the British Ministry of Magic.

Murphy had no choice but to find suitable people, as he was short of wizards.

Crouch repeatedly offered to resign from his position as Minister for Magic to serve as a minor chairperson within the Union but was politely declined by Murphy.

With Dumbledore out front for show, Murphy saw no need for Crouch.

Lucius also eagerly volunteered, believing his expertise in the economic field could serve well as the Union's Minister of Finance, but was also politely declined by Murphy.

"If you can't even figure out how to sell potions, how can I entrust you with the Union's economy? Would you not bankrupt us in three years?"

Moreover, did I lack bureaucrats? I needed administrative staff.

Eventually, Murphy found a group of people from the Soviet Muggle government.

Due to the Augustus Plan, the Soviet planned economy department began significant layoffs. These people might not excel in other areas, but their accounting and actuarial skills were decent, far surpassing the wizards', and Murphy planned to reemploy them in the Wizarding Union as administrative officers.

However, with too few members and vast distances between them, there was no immediate need to establish a governing body with real power. Murphy simply sent these laid-off workers for training to familiarize them with magic-related affairs, and they hadn't started working yet.

The Swiss wizard, Faust, took the membership card, about to leave, when an adjacent office wizard approached, "Are you Mr. Faust Campbell?"

Faust looked at him curiously, "Yes, how can I assist you?"

"I heard the Campbell family has a thousand-year legacy specializing in magical cloaks, enjoying a prestigious reputation throughout the wizarding world," the officer said, "I wonder, are you interested in expanding this business to a larger field?"

"What do you mean? Our family's cloaks are already selling well across the wizarding world; I don't think there are many more fields we can expand into." Faust was skeptical.

"The wizarding world is only part of this world, Mr. Faust. Have you never thought about promoting magical cloaks to Muggle society? Imagine a cloak that can protect against wind, rain, fire, change colors at will, and offer various aids to travelers in critical moments. Think about how popular such a magical cloak would be in the Muggle world."

Faust appeared enlightened, as coming here to register was precisely with a similar intention.

Seeing his interest, the officer immediately handed over a brochure, "If you have such an entrepreneurial plan, we can definitely help you. This is a new policy recently issued by the Wizarding Union, called the 'Wizarding Union Entrepreneur Support Program.' You might want to take a look."

Faust took the brochure, which was boldly titled "Wizarding Union Entrepreneur Support Program," with a twinkling pentagram between the words "wizard" and "entrepreneur."

He opened the brochure, and immediately, several compelling sentences entered his ears.
