Harry Potter Isn’t Holding Back Anymore

Chapter 79: The Crown Strikes Back

"Let me shed some light on things, then. We do have your 10 Aurors. They are all alive and in good health. In talking with them we learned some interesting things. Would you like to know what we learned, Minister?" asked the PM. Minister Fudge's face immediately switched from tomato red to bone white. He began sweating. "Yes, well we will show you. Be advised that this information has already been made available to the Queen, and she is to say the least…displeased. Let's have a look first, shall we." He said. They then played the video of the interrogation.

"Lies. It's all lies!" shouted Minister Fudge, loud enough for the security guards outside to open the door to check on them. "I am told that we employed methods that ensured they could not lie." Said the PM. "Veritussum? That is a controlled substance and illegal to have by anybody but the Ministry" said Minister Fudge "I have no idea what Veritussum is. Do you Commander? General?" asked the PM. "No, Sir. Never heard of it. As the Ministry of Magic has a 'truth serum', you have to understand that we, as well as many other countries, have their own version of 'truth serum'. Do you, Minister, feel that only magicals should have something like that? That you are somehow 'superior beings'?" responded the Commander. "Your Aurors were incapable of lying, Minister. In addition, we have here an official directive penned by you, specifically ordering Auror Dawlish to make sure Miss Granger and her parents did not make it to Azkaban alive! That, Minister Fudge, is conspiracy to commit murder, against a sovereign citizen of Great Briton! The punishment for that is 5 to 10 years in OUR prison alone! Believe me, you would not want to be in our prisons any better than you would want to be in Azkaban." Fudges face couldn't get any paler – it was death white now. "We warned you, Minister, what would happen if you could not reign in your terrorists. We warned you three times. We asked Madam Bones to show you a memory of the attack at Christ Church yesterday, and our response to that attack. Did you see the memory?" the Commander asked. The Minister shook his head. "The attack on Christ Church included 25 marked Death Eaters, 15 Giants, and 30 Dementors. How long would it take your Aurors to overcome such a force?" he asked the Minister. "15 Giants and 30 Dementors…I….I….I don't know. It would require many more Aurors that we have to battle that." Fudge responded. "How long did it take us" the PM asked the Commander. "Not more than a few minutes" the Commander replied. "Now I know your lying!" trumpeted Fudge. "Who ever heard of taking down Giants in minutes?" he laughed rhetorically. "I was there Minister" responded Madam Bones. "I saw it all from the very beginning. In fact, it took no more than three minutes. The Giants were down in less than two. It took the rest of the time to deal with the Death Eaters and Dementors." She said. "It's not possible." Said the Minister. "I have the memory and would be willing to show it to you. " Madam Bones offered.

"Minister. We have warned you repeatedly to reign in your terrorists. You have not. Through your inaction, and possibly even encouragement, magical terrorists have attacked and killed non-magical citizens of England. You have maliciously maligned the Crown in your media. Being a division of the Crown itself, the Ministry of Magic has thus committed treason against the Crown. By sending Aurors to arrest Miss Granger and her family, with the intent of either killing them or incarcerating them in the magical prison known as Azkaban and with the explicit intent of killing any responders, you have violated the laws of the Crown and conspired to commit murder. Having committed these things, the Ministry of Magic has violated the conditions of agreement of the Magna Carta of 1225.

It is within the right of the Crown to abolish the Ministry of Magic; to abolish the Wizengamot, and to fold the magical community of England back into the general population. Rule over the wizarding world of England will fall to us. This is your last warning, Fudge. This WILL NOT be swept under the rug. As we speak, this notice will be posted throughout Wizarding England, and is being sent out to the magical communities of the world. Do you understand this warning, Minister? Do you understand the consequences of further infraction?" asked the Prime Minister to a bone-white and sweating Fudge. Madam Bones herself was in shock. How had the Prime Minister learned of the Magna Carta? What had Fudge and Dumbledore gotten them into?
