Chapter 13: 13
The conversations about the secret room continued for quite a long time. The blood inscription, which could not be erased, only fuelled the students' interest. Lockhart realised that now would be a great time to put himself in a favourable light in front of everyone. He decided to lead the duelling club.
Needless to say, the students loved the idea. Due to the large number of participants, they had to clear and prepare the school hall, moving the tables aside and setting up a straight arena where the battles would take place.
"Children, in light of recent events and discussions, at the headmaster's request, I am ready to lead the duelling club! I will show you how to defend yourselves and attack during battles, which I have fought many and described in my books! My assistant, Professor Snape, will help me. Don't worry, I will return your potions professor unharmed.
Snape entered the arena looking dissatisfied. It was clear that the only thing that pleased him was the prospect of hurting his opponent.
The students crowded around the makeshift arena where the teachers stood. Snape and Lockhart raised their wands, greeted each other, and moved to opposite sides of the battlefield.
I stood at the entrance to the hall, the girls stood next to me and watched with interest. We had a rather strange relationship with them. Astoria and Luna became my students and, one might say, my sisters. Daphne, on the other hand, often sneaked into my room and fell asleep in my arms, but I didn't mind that arrangement. In terms of strength and knowledge, the girls could outclass almost any sixth-year student and some seventh-year students. Of all of them, only Astoria didn't know who I was; she simply considered me a powerful wizard or even the chosen one.
I also learned about the girls' hobbies. For example, Astoria collects snakes; she simply adores them. Luna, on the other hand, prefers to play with rabbits and collect the wings of different pixies.
Turning my gaze back to the professors, I saw a barely noticeable smile on Snape's face.
"Expelliarmus!" the professor said clearly and with relish. A yellow flash flew towards Lockhart, throwing him a good five metres away.
Lockhart managed to get up, smiled as if it wasn't him who had been flying through the air, and approached Snape.
"I saw right through your plan! You decided to teach the children how to fall properly! Good idea, and I executed it perfectly.
"I... I wanted to start by showing the students how to block malicious spells with Protego," said Snape, watching the smile fade from the DADA teacher's face.
"Hmm, who wants to try? Ooh, how about you, Mr. Potter?" - I wonder why they chose me? Well, my opponent is unlucky...
"And I will choose an opponent for our... hero... Mr. Malfoy, step forward," said Snape, stepping down from the arena.
Malfoy stood up with a smile, already anticipating how he would beat me up... I managed to pick up these thoughts from his mind. Let's see what he's capable of.
"I think Mr Potter should remove his cloak before the duel... For the sake of fairness," said Snape, smiling.
The crowd didn't understand and began to ask why this was necessary and what advantage my uniform gave me. Snape simply pointed his wand at me and cast Expelliarmus, which bounced off my clothes and flew back, hitting the teacher. He was clever, he understood that my faculty's uniform was enchanted, but he didn't understand that it reflected spells rather than nullifying them.
Before the astonished students, I took off the Black Wing and gave it to Daphne. Snape managed to get up and looked at me with fury, but that was all. I was not to blame for the fact that he himself had been affected by his own spell.
I was left wearing leather trousers with metal shields, gloves with the same shields, and a white shirt.
Draco and I stood facing each other, raised our wands in greeting, and walked away in different directions. For fun, I set Wabajek to cast a random non-lethal spell.
Before reaching the required distance, Draco turns around and casts a stunning spell at me. Feeling it, I cast a medium-level charm on myself without turning around, one that doesn't require maintenance for a couple of minutes. A silver beam flies towards my back but hits my defence. Taking the last two steps, I turn around, slowly raise Wabbajack and simply wave it.
The red beam flies towards Malfoy, hitting him and turning into a pile of petals that cover his head. The Slytherin student emerges from the petals, spitting, and launches another curse at me, which hits the shield of my amulet.
Another wave of Wabbajack, another red beam flies at Malfoy, turning his clothes pink and growing a pair of feathers on the back of his head. Laughter filled the hall, the young heir to the Malfoys blushed with rage, threw off his robe and stood in a fighting stance.
"Serpensortia!" the boy shouted. A horned snake flew out of his wand. It was a rather rare magical species of snake. This spell summons a random snake. It is very difficult to summon this type of snake, as a huge amount of potions must be brewed with its venom. One drop can kill ten people.
The snake hissed, looking around. Draco stood in shock, not expecting to summon such a snake.
"Everyone stand back! I'll deal with it!" said Lockhart, firing a spell at the snake. But it just flew up, fell down and became even more angry.
The snake looked at the boy who was closest to it. It was already ready to attack, but then I stepped forward. I wanted to tame it and give it to Astoria; she would be delighted.
"Bow down before me! Bow down before the Dragon!" - I hissed, using the language of beasts. The snake looked at me angrily, but then calmed down and bowed its head.
"Submit to me! Serve me! Come to me!" - The snake quickly crawled towards me, wrapping itself around my leg and climbing higher and higher. Finally, it settled on my neck, looking proudly at everyone around.
I turned around and left the duelling arena, giving Malfoy a final wave with Wabbajack, and I left the hall in silence.
The girls followed me, and Astoria began to spin around, happily glancing at the snake, which was soon around her neck.
When I returned, I created a glass aquarium and placed the snake inside.
"Now everyone will think you're Slytherin's heir," said Daphne, looking at the aquarium with disgust.
"What difference does that make?
"Everyone will be afraid of you, you just spoke Parseltongue, it's a gift from Slytherin. He created the secret room," said Astoria happily, fearlessly putting her hand in the aquarium and stroking the snake, even though it wouldn't bite her... "Luna, can I have the rabbit?" The girl quickly ran away to get the rabbit, which she hugged tightly and wouldn't let go.
"Would you like me to teach you how to talk, not only to snakes, but to all animals?" Everyone happily agreed.
Things got much more interesting. The students really started to consider me Slytherin's heir. They began to look at me with fear. I immediately remembered that feeling of being feared, it's so nice...
The second piece of news was that Malfoy had changed his gender and become a blonde for a week. All week long, a squeaky blonde voice yelled at me, demanding that I return everything to the way it was. But of course, I didn't do it...
The first-year Gryffindor who was running around with a camera seemed to become even more determined to film me. It's very annoying, but I'm holding on... To my wand... Getting ready to cast Avada... On him... And devour his soul.
Well, what could be worse than Weasley trying to force his friendship on you? Only Weasley running around accusing you of being related to Slytherin and attacking a cat, as ridiculous as that sounds.
The day before the Christmas holidays, Colin Creevey was attacked, which gave me something to cheer about. He was lucky to survive, by the way; the basilisk managed to attack him while he was looking at his camera, which weakened the paralysing curse.
After gathering all our things and putting on our regular clothes, the girls and I went down to dinner, where a surprise awaited us.
"You attacked him! He's a Muggle-born wizard, and that's why you decided to get rid of him!" Weasley shouted when I entered the hall. The girls, already used to everything, just stood behind me, ready to support me if necessary. I wondered if Ron was really so stupid as to openly accuse someone who could get rid of him.
"Let's say it was me, what are you going to do about it? Come on, lion cub, be brave, or are you afraid?"
The whole hall was watching us, and the headmaster signalled to the teachers not to intervene. Ron looked around the tables for help, but there was none, not even from his brothers, who weren't as stupid.
"I thought so, if you have neither the courage nor the strength, sit there and don't get involved.
Turning around, I started to walk away, and Daphne, Astoria, and Luna followed me.
"Freeze!" The spell flew at my back just as Luna stood behind me. It hit her in the back, knocking her unconscious. I noticed in time and caught her before she fell. Unfortunately, our faculty uniforms were already in our bags, and we were only wearing amulets...
Rage began to fill me, fangs grew, scales appeared under my shirt, but I was able to stop the transformation in time... First, I had to take care of Luna. I waved my wand over her, checking her condition.
Making sure she was okay, I laid her on the knees of Astoria and Daphne, who had been keeping Ron at bay with their wands the whole time.
I stood up and slowly approached Ron.
"You're not a lion, you're a rat... And you smell like a rat, by the way." Something squeaked in Ron's pocket, but I didn't pay any attention to it. I got closer and closer to him, releasing my aura.
"Attack from behind, attack the girl, go on, hero, now attack me... Just try.
I weakened my aura, letting him come to his senses. Gathering himself, Ron clenched his fist... He's going to attack without magic?! Has he lost his mind? No, spells won't hurt me, but he's a mage! Ron runs up and punches me in the face. Calmly catching his hand, I squeeze it, forcing Ron to fall to his knees in pain. Fear, despair. I felt it, I missed it so much! I enjoyed his state!
The red-haired twin brothers were the first to come to their senses, running up to me and trying to pull us apart. I turn my head towards them and knock them back with a cry of merciless power.
"Don't interfere! I will punish whoever attacked the Dragon Pack!
Now the older brother came to his senses.
"Let him go. This is the head boy speaking." Was that his only argument?
"In fact, I am the senior in my faculty, which means I am the leader and head of the faculty. So don't interfere!" - With my last words, I squeezed my hand harder, breaking the sixth's bones.
Percy took out his wand and pointed it at me, but the back of his head touched Daphne's wand, which was ready to unleash its curse.
"If Alduin said not to interfere, then don't interfere. You attacked first and without cause.
"But he's the heir and he cursed Colin! He's a snake-tongued liar!" someone from Hufflepuff shouted.
Daphne hissed in Parseltongue, and Astoria, holding Luna, repeated the trick.
The students looked at us in confusion, trying to understand what was happening.
"You so-called 'wizards' are accusing me without understanding. Yes, I can speak the language of snakes, as well as other animals. Whose heir am I if I can talk to owls? Or wolves? And there are plenty of other animals... How many ancestors do I have... I, Alduin James Potter, Leader of the Dovas, declare war on the Gryffindor Faculty. Anyone who wishes to challenge me to a duel may do so, but do not touch the members of my Faculty. If anyone from other houses wishes to challenge me, I am always ready.
With my last words, I clenched my hand tightly, leaving Ron with a piece of torn flesh and bones in place of his hand. They will be able to repair it, but he will remember this lesson, and the rest will learn, not all, but most.
When I picked up Luna and left the hall with the girls, the headmaster gave the teachers permission to rush to the redhead's aid. It's none of my business now; Dumbledore will sort it out himself.
