Chapter 243: Interlude
Kyle had a lot going on but knew he had to keep tabs on Jasmine's older brother because there was no telling how serious his condition was.
This wasn't about the injury Kyle inflicted on him but rather the drug abuse he had subjected his body to.
However, before any of this could happen, his doorbell rang, informing him of an unannounced guest.
Kyle sighed. He had enough of all of this and knew he had to make active plans to sell his home to a selected few, as he was becoming a public figure.
If his home was easily accessible, it could spell bigger problems shortly.
"I will get it," Calista said because Kyle was still stuffing his mouth with all the food he could eat.
Kyle didn't think too much of this and gave her the go-ahead because what was the big deal if she was in his house?
Calista answered the door and part of her wished it was Jane so she could rub it in her face but this wasn't the case unfortunately as the person behind the door was revealed to be Aiysha.
A lady she had a run-in with already and left a terrible first impression but Calista wondered why she was here.
"Is there a problem?" Calista began the conversation but Aiysha had no time for some confrontation, it wouldn't bear any fruit.
"I want to see Kyle, is Jasmine alright?" Aiysha asked right away, looking past Calista like she wasn't even there.
She liked Jane a lot better but wondered why this woman was here when it was clear that Kyle was involved with the other lady.
However, this was none of her business and she wasn't going to comment about it either.
It was one of those things that was beyond her control but she had to find a way to humble this woman before her.
Jasmine soon entered the fray and while she hadn't seen Aiysha, she recognized her voice.
She walked towards the door and stared blankly at Aiysha for a whole minute without uttering a single word.
Jasmine walked past Calista, grabbed Aiysha's hand and led her right to Kyle.
Calista couldn't stop her or say a word because she was still on the fence with Kyle and had no way of telling the importance of this woman in his life.
However, there was one thing she noted, this lady was attractive upon closer inspection.
There was no way that Kyle's body wouldn't respond to such an attractive lady but Jasmine was what worried her.
Aiysha was brought to the kitchen by Jasmine and even Kyle was shocked to see her.
She had no reason to be here but it must be because of Jasmine.
She must have come to check if she was doing alright, even Kyle was surprised by how well her body responded to the treatment.
Although she had a slight fever, her immune system was showing that it was stronger than that of the average person.
"How is she doing?" Aiysha asked Kyle as Jasmine returned to her seat to continue her meal.
"She is much better, thanks to you," Kyle confessed. Calista heard this as she came to join them but it felt awkward with her there.
"I'm glad to hear that, I came to check in on her," Aiysha said to which Kyle flashed her a smile.
"Thank you very much, Aiysha. I mean it, if you need anything, let me know," Kyle showed his gratitude and it was genuine.
Calista found herself getting jealous because this woman had something she didn't possess.
A nurturing instinct which came from motherhood but the ring on her finger told her she was married.
Aiysha realized this was the same woman who informed her husband about Kyle's condition.
But this was only part of the reason she was here, she wanted to speak to Kyle regarding what her husband had said to him to clear up any misconception.
However, this would have to wait, unfortunately.
-
Ella had gone to the Agency to speak to Isabella about a plan to produce a song.
She had the means to but knew she needed the go-ahead from Isabella as she was no longer an independent artist.
She was the person who spoke on behalf of her band as well, they had gotten their cut and this was a reminder that they could earn a living doing this.
This was good as it reignited some spark in the band but Ella worried that money might change the motive of her band.
If money was the thing that brought some spark into their lives then there was a chance that it would distort their reason for making music.
Ella knew all of this was a possibility but had to trust her band not to lose sight of the goal they all shared.
However, she knew how a person's past had a habit of sneaking up on them so she had to come clean to Isabella so she understood what she was getting herself and the label into.\\
She couldn't be the reason why Kyle's agency suffered due to her poor choices in life even though her deceased parents had given her a way out of poverty.
A card she wasn't sure she needed due to how long she had been doing this in the first place, she wanted away from her past and had done so much work on herself to be able to stand on her own two feet.
All that wasn't about to be undone but the idea that she had that option relieved the stress on her shoulders.
"Good morning Carly, is Isabella in?" Ella asked to which Carly nodded with a bright smile
"She is but let me inform her that you are here," Carly was being professional but her aura was inviting.
"Thank you, Carly," Ella responded but she was nervous for some reason because this felt like a big step in the journey she was about to take.
