Harem Overlord of the Apocalypse

Chapter 63: Explosion Part 1

Gunfire erupted right away. Despite his speed, Terrence was forced to duck behind corners and walls as bullets tore past them.

Six trucks, each mounted with a Gatling gun, roared after them across the garden.

The spinning barrels spat out endless streams of bullets, shredding trees and smashing statues around them.

Terrence tightened his grip on Katya, his mind racing. He knew they couldn't keep running like this forever — they needed a plan, and fast.

Katya, knowing how difficult it was becoming, spoke softly.

"Just leave me here,"

"Are you stupid?" Terrence snapped, raising his eyebrow. "If they catch you, they won't just torture you — they'll do even worse things... Like passed you around ."

Katya swallowed hard. She already knew that, but hearing it from him made it even more terrifying.

"But… we don't have a choice. If you don't carry me, you can escape on your own."

"Yeah, I could. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let you die."

She gave him a sad, trembling smile, her heart pounding so hard it almost hurt.

"James… it's not your fault," she whispered, her voice gentle and firm. "I chose this life knowing I can die any day. Please… just leave me and save yourself."

He closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh.

Around him, the snow started to melt, steam rising from the ground.

All along, he had been holding back his mana, saving energy for an emergency.

But now was not the time to hold back.

The diamond in his hand began to tremble, and when he opened his eyes again, they glowed a fierce, flaming red.

"Just wait here. I'll show you what a mana-born can really do!"

Without waiting for a reply, he jumped — his speed so fast that one of the trucks only saw a burning figure flash through the air, leaping 20 feet and landing on their roof.

BOOOOM!

An explosion ripped through the truck, destroying it completely.

Before the soldiers could react, he was already in the air again, leaping toward the next target.

They tried to track him with their Gatling guns, but it was useless.

He used wind and fire to change direction in midair, diving like a rocket and smashing through anything in sight.

When he looked up, he saw the full moon shining above and smiled.

On any other night, he would have been much weaker. But tonight, with the moon full, his Lunar State was at its peak.

'Breath in... Absorbed the moonlight ,' Terrence took a deep breath, feeling the moon's energy flood through his body.

He jumped again, moving so fast he looked like a blur of fire.

Metal twisted and flames roared as he tore through them like a living human torch .

The soldiers tried to shoot, but he was too quick. Their bullets only hit empty air or bounced off burning debris.

Katya saw her chance.

With him drawing all their attention, she ran as fast as she could toward the exit.

Behind her, the garden turned into a battlefield of fire and smoke.

Terrence kept fighting, making sure no one could follow her.

Finally, she reached the wall at the edge of the garden.

With one last burst of strength, she climbed up and threw herself over, landing roughly on the other side.

Just as she hit the ground, a loud, roaring sound filled the air. She turned her head in shock.

Three helicopters thundered into view above the garden, their searchlights sweeping across the burning chaos below.

The bright beams locked onto him instantly.

Without warning, they opened fire, bullets raining down.

One helicopter even launched a rocket, forcing him to flip backward and dodge, flames trailing behind him.

The explosion shook the ground, sending shards of stone and metal flying everywhere.

'This is getting out of hand,' Terrence gritted his teeth.

Even with his power boosted by the moon, facing helicopters armed with heavy guns and rockets was a whole new level of danger.

But he didn't back down. He dashed across the garden, using fire and wind to propel himself, dodging bullets and rockets as he planned his next move.

As all this unfolded, Katya decided to run.

This level of fighting was way beyond her skills, and she knew she would only slow him down and become a liability.

She ran to Sergie's location in the woods, and to her surprise, he was still there waiting for her.

"Let's go! We need to get out of here," he urged, grabbing her arm.

"But… what about him?" she gasped for air.

"Don't worry about that guy," Sergie shook his head.

"Did you see what he did? I'm sure he could escape anytime he wants. Not even an army can stop someone like that."

Turning around, she saw the entire garden burning to the ground.

Suddenly, a huge ball of fire shot up from the garden and slammed into one of the helicopters.

BOOOOOM!

The helicopter was destroyed in midair, breaking apart in a massive explosion before crashing to the ground in flames.

"See?" Let out a laugh that was a mix of awe and fear.

Smiling, she nodded, and together they went deeper into the woods.

In the garden, Terrence kept firing fireballs at the helicopters.

They were small, but each one was designed to explode just before hitting its target.

It was a technique he had learned to take down flying beasts.

Of course, the him from before was way weaker than he was now.

With the Lunar State and the diamond boosting him.

'I should get out of here,' he muttered, seeing the helicopters fly higher and realizing Katya was already out of sight.

Terrence knelt down and pressed his palm firmly against the cold snow.

A faint glow spread from his hand, and the snow around him began to melt and hiss.

Thick white mist slowly rose, curling and spreading across the garden.

In seconds, the whole area was covered in a dense fog.

Then he slipped away into the night, vanishing before anyone could even realize he was gone.
