Chapter 569: Arranging Work
Qi Yongrui gritted his teeth when he saw Fan Meilin questioning him about the picnic. He knew that the mer had heard him and was deliberately putting out questions like these for him and Luo Huian. He took one long, smooth breath before saying to Fan Meilin, "We are going on a picnic. Do you want to go?"
"I want to go."
Though the question was asked to Fan Meilin, the one who answered was Liao Liqin. The mer had just stepped inside the living hall and was now walking towards them. His violet eyes shone like gems as he came to a stop in front of them. One look at the three of them, and he typed on the phone before a clear voice echoed in the room, "I want to go too."
This time around, neither Qi Yongrui nor Fan Meilin could summon the energy to get angry. Liao Liqin was the youngest, and he was the one who suffered the most at the hands of Luo Huian. They had seen and watched it. And they had also seen Liao Liqin growing exceptionally introverted; the two of them didn't even remember the last time Liao Liqin had requested to go out with them.
"Sure," Qi Yongrui spoke through gritted teeth, even though what he wanted was to spend time with his wife. Alone that was, but he was going to grit his teeth and bring these two along with him because, as the official husband, this was what he needed to do. His duty was to keep the peace, so that was what he was going to do.
He turned to look at Luo Huian and said to her, "Then I will tell the staff of the farmhouse to clean up; the three of us will go there this weekend."
Luo Huian hummed. However, as she looked at the three mers standing next to her, Luo Huian had a feeling that this little picnic was going to be quite thrilling.

"Miss Gu."
Gu Sirou raised her head and looked at the man with whom she had arranged a meeting. She raised a brow and looked at the time on the clock that was hanging on the wall. She turned to look at the man, who was a nervous wreck, and then said to him, "You are late."
Her voice was like a whip, which left the man shivering even harder. He lowered his head and then said to Gu Sirou, "I am sorry. It was just —it was just that I never thought that there would be such thick traffic. I was caught between and couldn't get out; please do forgive me, Miss Gu."
Gu Sirou scoffed. She hated getting involved with humans; they were scaredy cats who didn't know anything better than grovelling and pleasing those in power. It had been years since she had faced anyone who knew how to hold his or her ground.
However, at the same time, she adored the power play.
At least, in this world, the ones who were grovelling were others and not her. She said, "You should be glad that I had the patience to wait, Mister Rong, or else I would have left this room without completing this meeting, and you know what would have happened if I did that."
Of course, Master Rong knew what would have happened. He was well aware of Gu Sirou's temper. This woman was not only cruel; she was filled with the savage desire to ruin everything and anyone who was of no use to her.
Master Rong, who loved his life, clearly didn't want to die.
He swallowed hard and lowered his head before saying to her, "I am sorry, Miss Gu."
Only then did Gu Sirou hum and say to the man, "Tell me. Did you arrange for everything that I asked you to do?"
"...I…I did try…" said Master Rong with a nervous expression. He raised his hand and wiped the sweat off his forehead and continued speaking in a low voice, "However, no one is willing to take on this task. They keep saying that we are being foolish. How could we even think about kidnapping, Miss Luo? That woman is well protected by Luo Qingling, and no one can get close to her."
He gulped and added, "I even went to her bakery to see if there was a chance to kidnap her there, but Luo Qingling seemed to have thought everything through. The bakery is well equipped with weapons that are designed to kill the second someone tries to harm Miss Luo."
Gu Sirou clicked her tongue. She was not even surprised that Luo Qingling had gone to such lengths to protect Luo Huian. That woman was smarter than other people gave her credit for; she might be young but her mind was sharp.
She pursed her lips and said, "What about Li Lin? Did she refuse as well?"
"I don't… I didn't ask her," replied Master Rong. With sweat dripping down his back, he said to Gu Sirou, "She is joined in an alliance with the Heavens' Knights Guild, Miss Gu. I don't think she will be willing to join in this hunt."
"You idiot," Gu Sirou snapped. She rolled her eyes and then said to the man, "When I said to you that I want you to contact Li Lin, I meant the higher-ups of her guild. Those who have the power to control her and make the decisions. With Li Lin, you will naturally be refused, but if you pull the elders of her guild to your side, I am sure that she will agree." Gu Sirou had been having trouble raising a gloom under her wing. Those monsters, though created through her essence, didn't accept her as their leader and mother. Even though she had tried again and again, nothing seemed to be working. Since that was the case, she was thinking about using Luo Huian's skill to tame those monsters. If that woman could tame the dungeon beasts, maybe she could also contain the glooms.
Gu Sirou had been trying to control this world. She couldn't take the immortal realm back then, but she knew that as long as her soul was strong enough to be free from the restraints that the old had and Wei Yuxian had placed on her, she would one day take those bastards down with her.
The place where she had been humiliated and insulted, she would raze and ruin once she got her strength back. The very thought alone was enough to fill her with glee and excitement.
But for that, she had to first deal with Luo Huian. Unless she could get her hands on that woman and her skills, Gu Sirou didn't believe that she would be able to get what she desired.
When Master Rong heard her words, he pursed his lips. He wished to say something but he knew that there was no point. Gu Sirou was adamant about getting Luo Huian kidnapped. Since that was the case, he could only lower his head and accept the order.
"I understand, Miss Gu," said the man as he took his leave. He needed to find someone reliable, or else he was worried that things would go south for him very soon.

"And this is where you need to work," said the woman as she pointed to the small cubicle that had been arranged for You Ruojin. Even though nothing was said or done, Luo Huian could see that the head of the weapon department was not happy with this new addition that she had made in her workplace.
She turned to look at the woman and smiled at her. She said, "Oh my heavens, do let the head of your department know that I am thrilled with the exceptional and excellent treatment. I was thinking that You Ruojin would be given a doghouse. It's bigger than that."
Her words were not low at all, and the entire place turned silent as they all turned uncomfortable. Good. Luo Huian scoffed. Since these people wanted to make them uncomfortable by making You Ruojin feel like an outsider, she would do the same to them.
"It is alright", You Ruojin knew that Luo Huian was unhappy with how she was being treated, but honestly, she didn't care. As long as she could continue working on what she loved to do, she didn't think that there was anything wrong with how she was treated.
Luo Huian glanced at You Ruojin, who seemed excited to start working, and felt the change in the spiritual energy around the egg that she was carrying. She pursed her lips and then said to You Ruojin, "Very well, I will leave this matter. But if someone bullies you, then you can let me know."
Humans had the habit of doing silly things like bullying others just because they were better than them. Luo Huian could never understand their thought process behind this but she was unwilling to let You Ruojin face the same.
