"Request?" Yu Dong tilted her head to the side with an amused smile. In fact, she was certain that Old Madam Murong would try to make a profit out of this situation. If she was not greedy for the shoes that she was wearing, then Old Madam Murong wouldn't have arranged for this match even though it looked shady from the start.

She would have invited Yu Tong to her house and in case Second Madam Yu refused to let her meet Yu Tong then she would have come looking for Yu Tong on her own. Of course, this was if she truly cared about her son.

However, Old Madam Murong did not care about Murong Si. Just like many other women who used their mer sons as chips to gain as much profit as possible, Old Madam Murong was also using Murong Si to gain a much greater advantage than she could have gotten while working as a village head.

"That's right," Old Madam Murong did not feel ashamed. Instead, she felt like she was doing a favour to Yu Dong and her cousin with whom she arranged the marriage match. "Since my son's reputation has been harmed, shouldn't the Yu family compensate us?"

Yu Dong's smile widened even further while Fang Chi's brows were scrunched up in reproach. He said, "What do you mean? This marriage was fixed by Second Madam Yu and she was the one who promised the position of the official husband to your son without asking anyone in the family. If anything she is the one who should be compensating!"

"That's right, who are you trying to fool?" Chen Mi questioned with a haughty voice. "You think that neither of us can see what you are doing huh? You are trying to make a joke out of our wits if you think that we can't see what is going on in your head."

Old Madam Murong's cheeks were stained with red. In fact, she also knew that she should be demanding compensation from Second Madam Yu but the thing was that the woman could not give us what they wanted!

"We did try to speak with Second Madam Yu but she told us that we should discuss this matter with you," Murong Tai wittily explained. She looked at the two mers who were speaking up for Yu Dong and then stated, "She said that this mess was not something that she created and it should be dealt with by you."

Though the mother and daughter did not talk with Second Madam Yu, they were smart enough to draw their own conclusions. If their daughters fell for a prostitute, they would do everything in their power to make sure that their daughters married decent mers, the fact that Yu Tong's stubborn and self-willed wish was fulfilled…

It could only mean that someone helped her by going against Second Madam Yu.

"That.." Chen Mi opened his mouth but Yu Dong patted him on the back. She turned to look at Old Madam Murong and asked, "What do you want? Unless it's an unreasonable demand I will see what I can do."

Old Madam Murong's eyes lit up, she did not think that this conversation would go this well but given that Yu Dong was taking a step back, she was overjoyed. She immediately replied, "A job for each of my daughters."

She had five daughters in total from all her husbands, if every one of them earned fifty taels then the income of the entire house would become two hundred and fifty taels. That would be enough for their family to live comfortably.

However, the second she finished speaking Yu Dong burst out laughing. She clapped her hands and then leaned on the couch, "I guess you are mistaken about something, Old madam. The one who is in a vulnerable position is not me. It's you… if we refuse to take responsibility for your son then the one who will lose more than you can gain."

"Now," the smile on her lips widened even though it did not reflect in her eyes. "Take it back to the top and bring it back down, think it again and tell me what you want, again."

Old Madam Murong stiffened. She looked at Yu Dong who was still smiling but she knew that if she was to make a mistake then Yu Dong might really break the engagement. She was right, the one who was in a bleak position was them.

If someone else was there in front of them, Old Madam Murong would have asked her daughters to make a fuss but she did not think that it would work on Yu Dong.

"Then at least for my eldest daughter," Old Madam Murong changed her request. She couldn't allow the marriage to be called off and once Murong Si married Yu Tong, she would have enough ways to get what she wanted.

"Very well," Yu Dong agreed. "I will arrange a job for your daughter at the slaughterhouse as it's the only place that lacks workers for the time being."

"Slaughterhouse? Can't my daughter work at another place? I mean a slaughterhouse is …. A bit uncomfortable for my daughter," Old Madam Murong expected that her daughter would be hired at the mall or the bar but she never thought that Yu Dong would hand her the job at the slaughterhouse.

Even Murong Tai had a frown on her face as she did not want to work at a slaughterhouse.

"My sister in law also works at the slaughter house, do you want to tell me that your daughter is much more pampered than my sister in law? If that is the case then we can call the deal off?"
