Chapter 439 – Sudden Visit From Old Friend
"Morning! I hope I don't disturb you."
In the morning of the next day they arrived at Gua, Max never expected for a guest to meet them in the hotel.
"Nina! I am glad you can come."
"Yeah, Lily! Thanks for informing me."
But it seemed like only he didn't know about it. The girls were hugging each other as Max looked dazed. His gaze went to two girls who looked surprised behind Nina. One of them, the one with a ponytail, even dropped her jaw.
"B-B-Breeze? And White Lily! Oh my god, oh my god! Are they real? Am I meeting the real ones?! Yina, pinch my cheek."
"Gladly."
"Ouch. It hurts, so it's real! Wow… They are in the flesh."
The cool girl pinched the other girl's cheek until it was red, but she didn't seem to mind it and still looked at Max with excitement that could go up to the roof.
She couldn't calm down and went to Nina's side when she separated from Lily.
"Nina! You never told me that your friend is White Lily and Breeze. You said this Max guy is here, how come he's Breeze. I mean, does that make sense? Huh? I heard White Lily call him Max yesterday.
I thought it was different Max!"
"Calm down, Cali." Yina chirped in. "You bothered other people in this lobby."
"I knew you would be like this, so I never told you anything." Nina giggled at her friend's excitement.
"Ah, sorry. I was just… Ugh, too excited. You know that I loved his content and I followed White Lily for 2 years." Cali whimpered and looked at Lily. "C-Can I get your autograph?"
"Uh, sure?"
"Yay!"
Lily was taken aback by her energy and looked at Max, asking for help. He only chuckled at her and watched her troubled.
"Please, sign it here!"
Happy to get the autograph, Cali took out a white shirt from her bag. This shirt was one of the merchandise that was sold in the concert.
"I am unable to watch the concert live on stage, but I did watch the livestream! The last dance with Breeze was so amazing that I cried. That was the best concert ever!" Cali exclaimed energetically, but then she realized her mistake again. "Ugh, I did it again. Sorry…"
"I-It's okay, just…" Lily raised her hands and smiled apologetically, "I have no marker with me, so I can't sign that."
"Here." Max handed her a marker and smiled, "Give the girl your autograph. She's looking forward to it."
"Thanks, Max." Lily took the marker and opened it. "Where should I sign it? Should I also write something?"
Upon her question, the girl beamed a large smile.
"Here, and if you will, please do! 'For Cali', like that."
"Un, got it."
As Lily gave an autograph, Max approached Nina and spoke.
"Did Lily ask you to come? I heard the culinary school is preparing for an event and the students are busy. Sorry about that, Nina."
"No, it's nothing. Still, that was just like you, thinking about other people first. I'd appreciate it if you give me a heads up if you do visit Gua, though, And yes, we're preparing for an event, but I am not that busy. I don't even know what kind of event it is, as the seniors are responsible for it."
"Ah, my bad then. I really didn't want to bother your education. And we planned to visit your school to meet you after our work is done, but I don't think that's necessary anymore." He scratched his cheek and smiled wryly.
"Yeah, that's not necessary now." Nina laughed, "Oh, have you had breakfast yet? How about some stew? Hehe, I want to show you my new cooking skill."
"Oh? Sure, let's taste it."
The five of them went to the outdoor restaurant belonging to the hotel and Nina gave the stew she brought to Lily and Max.
Nina didn't have one for herself, nor her friends, because they already ate the stew too much when making it. They ordered something from the restaurant instead. At least they didn't refuse when Max offered to pay for them.
They talked about various things and shared interesting things that happened once Nina departed from the school. As for Max, he mostly listened because all things he did was known from his livestream.
After what seemed like a few hours, afternoon arrived and Nina had to return to the school for another assignment. They promised that they would meet again before Max returned to Lime City.
The brown-haired girl was interrogated by Cali while Yina tried to stop the ponytailed girl. Nina could only smile as she was already used to it.
When they arrived at the school, some students apparently saw Nina talking with Max and rumors spread. She quickly became the center of attention as two celebrities' friends. Thankfully, Yina and Cali shielded her from getting surrounded.
Unfortunately, the seniors heard the rumor and tried to find her.
"Student Nina, please head to the representative room right now. I repeat…"
The sudden call left her startled, but she thought that it was due to the commotion she caused. With a heavy heart, she went to the representative room. She hoped it could be settled with a simple apology, although she didn't feel that she was wrong.
However, when she arrived, she found that a professor that called her was with a female senior. They looked at her and the senior spoke up.
"I heard that you met with Breeze and LilyPixel? Are you guys friends?"
Nina didn't like where this was going, but she nodded nonetheless. She didn't want the school to use her connection to them for their benefit.
But, she was thinking too much.
"Great!" The senior clapped her hands, "That was perfect."
"Yes, this is a blessing." The bespectacled professor nodded and sighed heavily, as if a burden was lifted.
Confused, Nina looked at them respectively and asked.
"Umm, what could be a problem?"
"There is no problem, and don't worry, you're not punished or anything. Rather, may I ask a favor?"
"Student Nina, if you don't mind, please listen to us and help us."
Nina narrowed her eyes.
"At least I can listen."
Both the senior and the professor nodded at each other. Then, the senior continued.
"Will you join our event committee? We're having a bit of a problem preparing for the event. Actually, our school will be a shooting location for Couple Paradise Island, and we are given a task to prepare for the dishes that participants hate."
"And?" Nina asked, urging the senior to continue.
"One of the participants is Breeze and LilyPixel. We don't have a clue what kind of dish they dislike, so having someone who knows them is a blessing!"
Nina's eyes widened in realization. She hummed and realized this was the work Max and Lily talked about. She considered the offer carefully, but was it worth it to tell them what Max disliked?
'I can see his funny reaction, so that's good. But, my grade…'
Noticing her hesitation, the professor pushed up his glasses.
"I will give you an A in Social Contribution for this semester."
"I'd gladly help the event committee."
Having the hardest social subject secured, Nina readily agreed to join.
'Sorry, Max. But I am bad at that subject!'
