Chapter 302: Chapter 302 Instant Second

The five Scale Lizards flying back to the prison were likely retrieving reinforcements from the island, while the remaining five stayed behind to pin Law down, which is a clear division of labor.

The five Scale Lizards on the shore skimmed low to the ground, carrying an unstoppable momentum as they closed in on Law from behind.

The advantage of magical beasts became evident at this moment. The speed of the lizard was extremely fast and they had already caught up to Law in a few seconds.

Whoosh!

The first Scale Lizard positioned itself perfectly, with the bone spikes on its wing jutting straight toward Law's back as it swept past in a deadly arc.

As if he had eyes on the back of his head, Law leaped forward, narrowly avoiding the strike.

Mid-air, he twisted his body and delivered a powerful Aura-infused kick straight into the beast's spine.

A crushing force erupted from his foot, transmitting through the Scale Lizard's body with a thunderous boom as Law slammed it into the ground.

Instantly, the earth beneath them cracked like a spiderweb, with fissures spreading outward.

But the second Scale Lizard was already upon him at this time, attacking in the same sweeping motion. With his momentum spent, Law could only sidestep, barely dodging the second strike… only for the third and fourth to follow in rapid succession.

The attacks were seamless, with barely a moment's gap between them, leaving Law no room to breathe.

Even so, Law skillfully evaded the second, third, and fourth Scale Lizards' coordinated strikes. When the fifth lunged at him, he kicked it head-on in the chest, sending it flying into the air.

The whole exchange lasted barely more than a second. The three lizards that had flown past Law quickly banked around in midair to come at him again. Meanwhile, the first lizard he'd stomped into the ground was already getting back on its feet.

Seeing that the Scale Lizard he'd kicked full-force didn't seem seriously injured, Law couldn't help but frowned.

'I'd unleashed 50% of my Aura in that strike, but it got up immediately. Could it be that the defense of its back is stronger?'

'Still, that contact should've been enough to infect it with the virus. Even if I couldn't take it down in one blow, the effect would play out soon enough.'

With that in mind, Law turned to face the three Scale Lizard rushing him from the front.

Once in close combat, he realized just how formidable their defenses were. Though they used Aura, their weakness was their inability to control it fluidly.

The Aura they emitted remained at maximum output at all times, like a glaring beacon in the dark. Even without looking, Law could sense their movements.

Thanks to this, Law easily weaved through the three troublesome lizards. Even while carrying Sanbica in his arms, he easily dodged their attacks and made his way toward the dense forest.

The three lizards that had missed him quickly turned around, but the first one that had been chasing Law suddenly crashed to the ground, tumbling before shakily getting back up.

It's Sanbica's virus at work.

Law was holding Sanbica and needed to devote some of his energy to resist the virus himself, so he couldn't use his full strength to attack the lizard.

However, the very virus that suppressed him also became a useful weapon, taking down the lizards without shedding blood.

Despite this, the lizards' defensive capabilities still concerned Law.

At that moment, Kuro finally caught up from the side.

Law's dark green face tilted slightly, looked at Kuro, and said coldly: "Sword."

Kuro immediately understood, spit out Shin from its mouth and handed it to Law.

"Protect Sanbica. If even a single hair on her head is harmed..."

Holding Sanbica with one arm and gripping the sword with the other, Law looked at Kuro with a terrifying glare.

Kuro's body trembled slightly, 'I just wanted to get stronger! That's why I took advantage of this rare opportunity to finally increase my Aura Reserves fivefold after so long!'

'Do you know how hard I've worked?!'

Kuro shouted in his heart!

However, he himself was also very clear that the initiative was always in Law's hands. Even if he wanted to act out secretly, he couldn't go too far, otherwise, Law might discard his Nen Ability altogether to erase him.

Originally, he had thought the prison's forces were nothing special. So even with Law losing 70% of his Aura, escaping unscathed shouldn't have been difficult. But the bizarre magical beasts that appeared out of nowhere instantly elevated the prison's threat level.

Now, he couldn't afford to mess around anymore. He had to protect both Law and Sanbica properly, though he had no idea how much of his hard-earned Aura would be consumed.

"Don't worry. If anything happens to this girl, I'll die along with her."

Knowing he had already gained enough benefits, Kuro didn't dare mess around anymore. He immediately expressed his stance in a serious manner. He's not just making empty promises, as his forehead now has a silver flame mark, which is a Vow he had just made.

Just as he said, if Sanbica unfortunately died under his protection, his soul would perish alongside hers. It is effectively a self-imposed annihilation.

Law didn't say anything. He handed the unconscious Sanbica to Kuro. Then, he gripped his sword and stepped forward, watching as the three remaining Scaled Lizards prepared to attack.

In their earlier clash, Law had struck two of the lizards with Aura-infused attacks. Although the lizards were not knocked down, with the help of Sanbica's virus, the two lizards had lost their fighting power.

Now, there are only three lizards left.

Judging from their movements, Law knew the five lizards flying towards the island were clearly intending to ferry the enemies there to the shore. So before they could succeed, Law needed to eliminate these three as quickly as possible and escape.

His right arm, holding the sword, hung loosely at his side. The rusted blade slanted downward, with its tip lightly touching the ground.

Bright Aura, seemingly masking the sickly green hue of the virus, flowed steadily over Law's body before channeling into Shin, dyeing the rusted blade with the same eerie green.

His eyes locked onto the lizards, his expression cold and unreadable.

The lizards flapped their wings, surging forward without a sound, with only the sharp whistle of their wings cutting through the air.

Just like before, they skimmed low at blistering speed, their wings sweeping horizontally. But this time, they came from left, center, and right, forming a pincer attack.

Law's eyes narrowed slightly, and his body shot forward, slipping through the narrow gap in their assault. As they passed each other, his blade moved.

Three streaks of emerald-green sword light flashed across the lizards, which appeared abruptly and vanished just as fast.

Silently, the three lizards that had overshot Law were bisected mid-air, crashing heavily to the ground.

There was no blood, nor screaming. The severed lizards writhed on the ground, and their vitality was still strong.

Although these three slashes could not cause any substantial damage to the lizards, they could destroy their mobility. Now, with the addition of Sanbica's virus, it wouldn't be long before they succumbed.

Law sheathed his sword without glancing back. Instead, he looked at the island in the distance. With his eyesight, he could vaguely see the magical beasts gradually walking out of the prison, and there were about a hundred of them.

After a brief pause, Law snorted coldly, then retracted his gaze, turned around and ran quickly towards Kuro and Sanbica.

He needed to find a hidden place for Sanbica to recover, and also to report his findings to Netero.

The two humans and the cat vanished into the dense forest.

At this point, the remaining five lizards had only crossed half the lake.

On the island, Dove lowered his binoculars and looked rather unhappy.

"Damn bastard."

He cursed under his breath.

But he has to admit that the guy is not weak at all. He was terrifyingly strong.

'Even while poisoned, he had instantly dismantled the lizards with a single slash.'

Dove knew the details of these hundreds of artificial creatures very clearly. Not to mention their attack power, the defensive power formed by the combination of their magical beast's bodies and the amplification of Aura was enough to enable them to fight against even the top-tier Nen Users.

But now, they had been dispatched so effortlessly.
