Chapter 354: Book 13: Part 7 – Aiden’s Plans for the Future
Aiden knew that with his appearance this time, the other Overgods had more than likely correctly guessed the true nature of his heavenly blessing, but he didn't mind too much.
The truth of Aiden's blessing, put simply, was that, aside from the 80 units of Willpower that he received upon becoming an Overgod for not only founding the paths of Concepts but also being the first to become a paragon in the Concept of Wind, he was would also be awarded 20 units of will – the equivalent of a Lesser Sovereign – for every new Concept mastered.
In total, that was 200 for becoming an Overgod, 1 for becoming a paragon of the Laws of Wind, 80 for the Concept of Wind, 120 for the Concepts of the six remaining Laws, 80 for the Concepts of the Four Edicts, and finally, another 20 for the Mandate of Pure Yang.
It may take a while, but after comprehending all Concepts, Aiden would have a total of 501 units of Will.
At that point, although Aiden wouldn't be able to cover the sky with one hand as he would've liked, at the very least, he would be no weaker than any of the Overgods of the Four Edicts when they did awaken.
And the real reason he hadn't accepted the faith of his element was because, after doing so, he would no longer be able to increase the Willpower infused in his Overgod body. And like Ace, he had no interest in short-term successes at the expense of cutting off his true potential. He wanted to create the best possible foundation before taking that final step.
Still, that was just the beginning of his plans, and the best part was that, short of killing him, there wasn't anything they could do to stop him, and unless they were able to somehow miraculously condense their bodies ahead of time, that was all but impossible.
Unless something drastic happened, there were a little under a hundred thousand years before the four Overgods truly awoke, and although a hundred thousand years was like the blink of an eye to true experts, it had to be remembered that Aiden was only a few thousand years old himself.
In his eyes, a hundred thousand years was more than enough time for him to completely comprehend all of the remaining Concepts and still have time to spare to move on to the second part of his plan.
Still, although he was confident, he knew better than to underestimate his adversaries. Unless absolutely necessary, he was determined to spend all of his time focusing on his training.
Thinking to that point, Aiden could only sigh helplessly as he glanced at his disciple, who was causing him to grow stronger quickly so that he could protect him instead of enjoying his time with his wife.
When they returned to the Yulan Plane, Killian and the others prepared to head back out on their adventures, this time with the goal of collecting the remainder of the Overgod Talismans.
Aiden had just fought for such advantageous terms for them, and they had no intention of wasting this opportunity, even if none of them had any particularly burning desire to receive the granted wish of an Overgod.
Still, even if they had no intention of using it for themselves, if nothing else, they could prevent their enemies from getting any stronger.
But Aiden was quick to nip that idea in the bud. He promptly explained what he had discovered when he met Phueus earlier.
According to Aiden, though powerful, Muyan wasn't actually Phueus' most powerful clone. Apparently, Phueus' actual most powerful clone was actually his Viz Clan clone.
Aiden's words stunned everyone, Ace and Mira included.
Aiden went on to explain that it likely hadn't always been the case. If he were right, the change was caused by the Overgod of Darkness, who helped Phueus track down the remnant members of the Viz Clan scattered across the universe.
His words caused Mira no small amount of anger; after all, even if she was born after their fall, that was still the clansmen they were talking about, but that wasn't the worst part.
According to Aiden, although the purity of Phueus' Viz Clan bloodline wasn't equal to Mira's yet, it wasn't far off at all, having long since surpassed what Ace's was previously, and to make matters worse, not only was that clone was already a paragon of the Laws of Darkness, its Visual Manifestation increased the might of his Darkness Divine Power ten-fold, and had condensed two drops of true Darkness-type Sovereign Power.
Hearing that, the bodies of all those present tensed up. It had to be understood that that alone was enough for it to suppress even Killian and Leona, but Phueus also had the ability to share his Chief Sovereign level Willpower with his other clones, as seen in the battle between Ace and Muyan, and the more powerful said clone, the more power it was capable of borrowing.
Muyan was capable of borrowing four units of Willpower, and according to Aiden, as it stood currently, this Viz clone was capable of borrowing six, which would bring its total up to seven, at which point, not even Mira – whose total was four with four units of Willpower with the use of her Gol Clan Divine Ability – would be a match for him.
And to make matters worse, Aiden explained that because the Overgod of Darkness would also know the method of cultivating Concepts, should Phueus' Viz Clan become a paragon in the Concept of Darkness, not only would he have an additional unit of Will, he would also be capable of borrowing another two units, bringing their grand total up to ten.
That total, when combined with their tenfold increase in Divine Power and two drops of true Sovereign Power, would make them no weaker than Ace when going all out.
Although, when boosted by the power of the [Constellation Battle Tactics], Killian's total Willpower would jump to 11 units – one more than Phueus' Viz Clone in that scenario – he would still be easily overpowered.
The increase brought on by being able to utilise true Sovereign Power wasn't something that could be matched by a mere single unit of Willpower.
The worst part was that they knew full well that this clone of Phueus, though the strongest, wouldn't be the only enemy they faced when the time came.
It was clear that all the Sovereigns wanted a piece of the pie that was the Overgod missions, and even if they knew they were destined to not get anything in the end, most would be satisfied to keep their side from benefitting.
In all likelihood, it would be them against the various Sovereign emissaries and disciples. The weakest of which would inevitably be those at the level of an invincible commander.
Killian and the others had faced more than their fair share of adversities and overcome each and every one of them, but this was on a level of its own.
It was then that Aiden told them all not to worry too much, as he had an idea for them to increase their power by another level or two in a short space of time.
Similar to what they experienced a few thousand years ago now, back when they were preparing to break through to the saint realm, Aiden's plan was to have the various Sovereigns of the various laws and Edicts create a batch of new Divine Planes. But this time, aside from the number of Sovereigns participating, the difference was that there would also be two Overgods participating as well, but unlike what one would expect, the Overgods wouldn't be taking part in the direct creation of the Divine Planes. Instead, they would be overseeing the point of fusion.
As soon as he said that, everyone immediately thought back to the Stellar River that separated the two sides of the Planar Battlefield.
When Aiden first brought up that they would be witnessing the creation of a whole host of new Divine Planes, Ace and the others' reactions weren't exactly what one would call excitement.
It had to be remembered that not only had all of them witnessed it already, they had also all become paragons in at least one of their chosen laws or Edicts; as such, the amount of help rewatching would bring was minimal, at best, but the same couldn't be said for watching Overgods creating a point of fusion.
When looking at the energy in the Stellar River, the only word that came to mind was chaotic. It was like a chaotic mesh of various types of energy, and yet, there was an odd sense of order in the chaos that was fascinating. When studying one's element in that chaotic environment, it forced them to look at their element through a whole new lens.
Aside from Kannal, who had become a paragon of both the Law and Concept of Wind, the others had become paragons of only one path, and this was an opportunity for them to make a breakthrough in their lagging path.
That was more than enough of a reason to get excited about the opportunity presented to them. Still, that excitement doubled for Killian, Amira, Leona, and Julius. As soul mutates, they would likely never get an opportunity to progress their fused laws as good as this.
The worry of facing Phueus' Viz Clan clone all but vanished. In fact, they couldn't wait! They knew full well that, as powerful and talented as they were, the Sovereigns still looked down on them, but that would soon change.
