Chapter 4: Birth of King Ghidorah! (Conclusion)
This is King Ghidorah.
Its complete form lay before humanity.
In terms of appearance, there wasn’t much difference between it and the Wings of King Ghidorah. Both had dragon-like and insect-like heads. Both possessed strange exoskeletons and peculiar bodies. The main disparities lay in size and the number of heads.
King Ghidorah had three heads and three necks, while the Wings of King Ghidorah had only one head and one neck.
This was probably one of the most significant differences between them.
As for another distinctive feature—size—the difference between the two was even more colossal in this aspect.
“Can this truly be considered a living being…”
Although mentally prepared, the personnel in the space station felt a sense of unease when they received the detailed data.
Body length… 3 to 4 kilometers? Or even longer?
Wingspan, 6 to nearly 7 kilometers, if not more?
Merely its existence could permanently alter the planet’s ecology, and merely being alive would require a civilization far superior to humanity to deal with it.
Could something like this truly be considered a living being?
“Estimated to weigh around 300 to 400 million tons. If it were to take off, it would be equivalent to tens of billions of tons of TNT exploding together… How did the Venusian civilization manage to defeat it?”
If humanity were opposed by King Ghidorah rather than Godzilla, it was likely that the human race would be annihilated within a day, wasn’t it?
How did something like this come into existence?
“It seems that the Wings of King Ghidorah were evolving towards the form of King Ghidorah. Could we say it’s a kind of convergent evolution?”
“To think that such creatures exist in the universe… It’s truly inconceivable.”
King Ghidorah’s length and weight weren’t something that could be born and evolved on a planet. It was unclear how it flew.
But now, this secret might finally be revealed.
“Then let’s uncover it!”
The tasks of the exploration vehicles extended beyond just analyzing the Wings of King Ghidorah. Their true objective was the colossal entity underground—the being the Venusians referred to as King Ghidorah.
In previous seismic surveys, while they hadn’t measured the entirety of King Ghidorah’s body, they had discovered a part of its form.
Among these findings was a section of the body remarkably close to the surface of the iron layer. This section could be drilled into, and a portion of King Ghidorah’s tissue could be cut away from the tip of its wing.
This was the most crucial part.
After obtaining the complete diagram, the personnel on the space station quickly pinpointed the drilling location. They needed to create a 20-meter-deep borehole directly above the tip of King Ghidorah’s wing.
It was a challenging task; the 20-meter-thick layer of steel was far tougher than bedrock. However, they were well-prepared for this, and some underground explosives could be employed to break the ground open.
Through over a hundred rounds of successive explosions, the exploration vehicles successfully created a pit around 17 to 18 meters deep and 6 to 7 meters wide. Next up was the time for the laser cutters.
After clearing away the iron slag resulting from the explosions, the exploration vehicles fully utilized their all-terrain capabilities. They retracted their tracks and exposed mechanical legs, then clung to the uneven pit walls to descend.
Inside the pit, the crew operated mechanical arms to begin using the laser cutters, gradually removing the remaining iron ground and moving it upwards.
With the unwavering efforts of dozens of exploration vehicles, they eventually sliced through the remaining few meters of iron layer, revealing a substance reflecting a golden light.
Above the excavation pit, a canopy had been constructed to provide ample lighting. Everyone involved in this exploration from the space station felt tremendous excitement.
This was King Ghidorah, the Winged Devil of Venus.
Everyone stopped the cleaning process; after all, they only needed to take a portion of the organism, the exposed part was already enough. There was no need for them to dig deeper.
Although they didn’t believe that Ghidorah could survive for 450 million years without any food, the researchers were cautious. The exposed part might oxidize and corrode in the acidic atmosphere, damaging the specimen.
They began laser sampling.
The place where Ghidorah had exposed itself was a protrusion on the tip of its wing. It was the only place people could currently access. Other parts were too deep and couldn’t be extracted with their current resources.
So, this was the only place they could work on.
The laser cutter activated against Ghidorah’s skin. The rover carefully moved the laser cutter, and the people on the Venus space station stared in awe, watching this scene with bated breath.
Ten seconds, twenty seconds, thirty seconds, even forty seconds passed.
Ghidorah’s body remained completely undamaged, as if the laser cutter didn’t exist.
“Increase the power.”
The people on the space station raised the laser’s power to the maximum, but Ghidorah’s exposed body still showed no signs of damage.
What material is this?
They didn’t lose faith; after all, Godzilla’s high-pressure phase-iron could likely withstand a laser cutter for a long time. But the absence of any damage…
Could this be possible?
At least in the eyes of these scientists on the space station, it was impossible. Chemical bonds couldn’t withstand this level of laser power without any damage.
“It’s no use.”
After several rovers had almost depleted their batteries without causing any harm to Ghidorah’s exposed body, the people said, “It seems this won’t work.”
The people on the space station were both disappointed and excited. They were disappointed that their rovers couldn’t cut through Ghidorah’s body, but excited because Ghidorah’s composition exceeded anything they knew about chemical bond materials.
And it wasn’t composed of white dwarfs.
If humanity could obtain this material, monsters like Godzilla would become insignificant!
“Hurry, build a more powerful cutting device. We must cut it down!”
The head of the research team and the station manager, a black-haired woman, had a joyful expression on her face. She urged everyone to get to work and build a more powerful laser cutter to remove Ghidorah’s wings.
“Yes!”
Everyone was eager to see what Ghidorah was made of. Just then, all the screens began to shake.
What was happening? An earthquake on Venus?
Everyone was puzzled. They didn’t know what was happening. Was it an earthquake on Venus?
Suddenly, the screens of a distant group of rovers went black.
Then the second group, the third group, and the shaking continued.
What was happening? Why was this occurring?
The duration of this “earthquake” was too long; it couldn’t be an earthquake. It was…
*Boom!*
At that moment, in the pit where Ghidorah had been excavated, at the center of the pit, Ghidorah’s wings suddenly retracted.
This was…
*Boom!*
All the exploration vehicles were thrown into the high sky. In the sky, some cameras that had not been completely damaged captured the scene before them. It was…
Golden wings.
