Chapter 81
Chapter 81 Midnight
At night, the auditorium was as gorgeous and splendid as ever, but tonight it was a bit desolate.
When Dumbledore announced that he was temporarily retiring from the post of principal and was about to leave the castle, the students felt at a loss and fear.
Even the greatest white wizard of our time is helpless, so is Hogwarts Castle still safe?
“I have rarely suffered like this before.”
Professor McGonagall stood up and said in a somewhat suffocating voice, “The school is likely to be closed unless the criminals who planned these attacks are caught. I urge everyone who thinks he knows something to take the initiative to stand up. .”
Like the students, she closely followed Dumbledore with her eyes, hoping to keep his sight with her.
Unfortunately, Dumbledore seemed to ignore it, and his old body disappeared at the entrance of the auditorium.
Harry felt a sudden panic. If the criminal can’t be caught quickly, he will go back to Dursley’s house to spend his life.
Only here did he feel the warmth of home. The Dursley’s house at No. 4 Privet Road is no different from a cage to him.
“How to do it?”
Ron asked quietly in Harry’s ear, “Do you think they suspect Hagrid? So far we only have a clue: Hagrid…”
“We must go talk to him.”
Harry made up his mind, “I don’t believe he did it. But maybe he knows a little bit of inside information, such as how to get into the secret room, etc… Then it’s not a waste of trip.”
“But Professor McGonagall said we must stay in the tower unless we go to the classroom to have class—”
“I think the Christmas gift I got last year can come in handy again.”
Harry said softly, “Isn’t my father’s old cloak used at this time?”
Hermione glanced at the two people who were whispering, then stared, warning:
“No matter what you two are thinking, don’t leave me behind.”
“certainly.”
Harry said in his heart that he couldn’t forget to bring you if he left Ron.
In the middle of the night, the three of them squeezed in an invisible cloak and walked on the gloomy corridor.
The journey was not very pleasant. Harry had been wandering the castle in the middle of the night several times before, but he had never seen so many people after the sun had set.
The professor, the prefect, and the ghost patrolled the corridor in pairs, looking around for any abnormalities. They breathed a sigh of relief after they walked out of the oak gate without danger, and walked towards Hagrid’s hut on the edge of the forbidden forest under the brilliant starlight.
…
After returning to the Slytherin common room, the number of students was reduced by a half.
The parents were quick to move. After learning that Dumbledore had been driven out of Hogwarts, they immediately sent someone to take their family’s children home, and never stayed in the castle for another second.
Lucius Malfoy was the best, he even waited at the gate early, took Draco away for the first time, and got into his own carriage. Draco’s expression looked a little reluctant, but Lucius had no room for him to discuss this matter.
The members of the mutual aid association formed a group, occupying most of the lounge space.
“President, do you think the school will be closed?”
A first-year student looked at Tracy and said, his eyes dotted with admiration in the past were a bit more nervous and fearful.
The two successive attacks gave them a good reason to think that the attackers were directed at Slytherin, which made the little wizards much less careful, and they only cared about crises that might arise at any time.
Tracy, who was distracted, looked a little awkward when she heard someone calling her name. She shook her head slowly, and said hesitantly:
“Probably not. Hogwarts has a history of thousands of years. This setback won’t break her…”
The topic opens here.
“Charles has been lying in the school hospital for a day… Yesterday he was expecting to tell me how his Valentine’s Day should be spent…”
Charles Nott’s roommate sighed and said softly.
“Not to mention that I have forgotten it. Tomorrow is February 14th. I didn’t even notice it…”
“Milli too… she said she was going to do something big on Valentine’s Day, but she didn’t expect it…”
“If Dumbledore is gone, who will protect us?”
“The dean is a very reliable candidate, but he is lacking in skills…”
“We can’t sit still, we must find a way to find the attacker.”
The members of the mutual aid association began to brainstorm, but Tracey, as the president, was a little absent-minded.
Intuition told her that there was a cold line of sight not far away watching her, but she did not dare to turn her head to look.
Ulysses leaned against the door frame, and looked away after a long time.
After the students in the lounge returned to the dormitory one after another, Ulysses returned to 409.
There was only Gerrard inside. He was slightly startled when the door opened, but Anderson was nowhere to be seen.
‘Has Dumbledore acted unscrupulously after he left? ’
Ulysses thought coldly, and after saying hello to Gerald, he walked out again under his puzzled gaze and closed the door.
He was afraid of attracting Anderson’s attention and did not leave a magic mark on him. However, he believes that as long as there is a sharper magical fluctuation in the castle, he will not be able to escape the detection of his Mental Energy field.
Before Dumbledore left, he left something for him so that he could observe the entire castle temporarily.
However, after going out, Ulysses was stunned to find Tracey standing in the doorway with a tangled expression on her face.
“What’s the matter, Shafik Miss?”
Ulysses narrowed his eyes and asked faintly.
“Ulysses…I think I found some very crucial clues…maybe about the attacker.”
Tracey hesitated and said, “But I’m not sure whether my judgment is correct, I would like to ask you to give some advice…”
“Clue? What is it?”
Ulysses looked at her for two seconds and asked.
“It’s some patterns, carved on the wall of a corridor on the fourth floor… I can show you…”
Tracey said slowly, her voice becoming more and more calm, as if she had made up some determination.
“I remember the professors said that you can’t wander in the castle now, right?”
Ulysses looked at her expression and reminded.
“Yes, but I thought your strength… shouldn’t be in danger.”
Tracey smiled and said calmly.
“It makes sense. Let’s go.”
Ulysses nodded approvingly, and walked towards the door, “By the way, I didn’t see Anderson when I came back. Your Big Brother is a bit big, and you are still out there at this time.”
Tracy froze for a moment, and said bitterly, “Maybe you are dating a girl in a certain corner again. You also know his virtue…”
Upon hearing this, Ulysses opened the door of the common room quietly without comment.
There was no one outside, and there was silence.
Tracy followed behind him, suddenly feeling a little nervous, and the decision he had just made suddenly fluctuated slightly.
