Chapter 80
Chapter 80 Dumbledore’s Situation
Looking at the sculpture-like Millie on the ground, Ulysses was in a daze for a moment, and then an uncontrollable anger rose in his heart.
Although Millie regarded him as a little white face when she first came into contact with Millie, which made him a bit embarrassed and helpless, but after most of the semester, she was considered a friend to Ulysses.
But now, the friend was lying in front of him in a daze, which made Ulysses a touch of murder in the depths of his eyes.
The speed of information dissemination was extremely fast, and Professor Snape rushed to the scene within a few minutes.
He pressed his lips tightly, looked a little pale, picked up Millie’s thin and stiff body, left a word and hurriedly left the Slytherin common room.
“From now on, everyone stays in the lounge and is not allowed to go out.”
The Slytherin students lost their former calm demeanor and were panicked.
Nothing makes them feel more nervous than own classmates being attacked in a familiar place.
Ulysses did not say a word, searched quickly in the lounge, and soon saw Anderson and Tracey in the corner.
They also had shocked expressions on their faces, whispering discussions with the members of the mutual aid association around them.
Ulysses stood there, watching their every move.
…
The news of Millie’s attack swept through Hogwarts like a wave, and everyone in the castle knew it at noon.
There are some people who discovered that all Slytherin students were attacked in the past two days, but even the hostile Gryffindor did not dare to gloat in this matter.
They can still make a clear distinction between the usual conflicts and the immediate issues of life and death.
In the afternoon, Lucius Malfoy and Cornelius Fudge walked into Hogwarts and went straight to the principal’s office.
After seeing Dumbledore sitting in a chair with a serious expression, the two were at odds.
“Albus, I heard… two more incidents happened in the castle…”
After entering the office, Fudge said impatiently, his nervous and fat face looked a little worried.
“Ah, Connelly, your news is really well-informed.”
Dumbledore was noncommittal, he whispered.
“Really bad.”
Fudge wiped his sweat. “Very bad, I have to do it again, Dumbledore. There were three attacks on the student-four times including the poor cat. It’s too much. Magic. The Ministry must take action.”
“Understandable.”
Dumbledore nodded and looked up at Lucius Malfoy. “What can you do with me, Lucius?”
“Things are terrible, Dumbledore.”
As Lucius Malfoy said, he took out a long roll of parchment.
“The board of directors thinks that you should be allowed to leave. This is a suspension order-initiated by Traverse, Shaker, Knott and other families. You will see twelve directors have signed on it. We think I’m afraid you haven’t used your talents. How many attacks have occurred so far? There have been two attacks in these two days, haven’t they?”
He paused, and said solemnly, “A member of a pure-blooded family, and a member of an emerging family-you should know how much this will have, Dumbledore. At this rate, the elites of Hogwarts There will be no more, and we all know that it will be a huge loss for Hogwarts.”
“By the way, I’m going to take Draco away today. The ghost knows if he will be the next target.”
After he finished speaking, there was a strange silence in the principal’s office.
The portraits of school principals on the wall suddenly scolded with excitement, but Fudge said in a bewilderment:
“Wait, wait, what are you talking about, Lucius? Dumbledore has been temporarily suspended…no, no…we definitely don’t want to…”
“The appointment of the principal, including the temporary suspension, is a matter for the board of directors, Fudge.”
Lucius said in a calm tone, “Since Dumbledore failed to stop these attacks…”
“But look, Lucius, if Dumbledore can’t stop—”
As Fudge said, his upper lip began to sweat, “Well, who can stop it? I never let Dumbledore be suspended before I came here!”
Lucius smiled, “But all twelve of us voted…”
Phineas Black on the wall shouted:
“Stupid! Stupid! Because you are a member of the pure-blood family, how could you do such a stupid thing at this juncture?”
“My goodness, my goodness, Headmaster Black, don’t forget that there is a stupid person in your offspring, who is still enjoying in Azkaban now.”
Lucius had a sneer on his face, “Just yell at me, don’t yell to the guards of Azkaban, they won’t like it.”
Phineas was trembling with anger. Armando said loudly:
“You can’t take Dumbledore! If you take him away, who will solve this incident? Are you?”
“I hope Dumbledore has a favorite successor.”
Lucius said calmly.
Dumbledore’s bright blue eyes were staring at Lucius’s coldly gray eyes, and then slowly said after a long time:
“I hope this has nothing to do with you, Lucius. If the board wants me to go, of course I will give up my position.”
“But–”
Fudge stammered.
“but,”
Dumbledore’s tone was slow and clear, so that everyone present could hear every word he said, “Only when everyone here betrayed me, I really left this school. Before dark I will leave, and during this time I need to explain something.”
“Emotion is commendable.”
As Lucius said, he bowed, “We will all miss you, Albus, and only hope that your successor can completely stop – ah, the murder.”
He strode to the office door, opened it, and looked back at Fudge.
Fudge played with his politeness, sweating and tangled, but finally left with Lucius.
“Albus, you really…”
Phineas said irritably, “The two of them are idiots, and they ran over to gesticulate if they didn’t understand anything…”
“Be calm, Phineas.”
Dumbledore said calmly, “It’s not a bad thing to leave for a while. I can just take this opportunity to take a good look at those directors and the pure-blood family behind them.”
“But, in case of another attack—”
Armando said hesitantly.
Dumbledore did not answer this time. He pondered for a while, and with a wave of his wand, a small silver Phoenix flew out of the window and went straight to the Slytherin common room.
Then, he stared at the shabby and dirty sorting hat on the octagonal stool, his eyes flickering.
