Ghoul: Starting with Sharingan

Chapter 87: Wife

When Byakuya entered the office, Yoshitoki was already aware of the situation regarding Nimura and Rize.

"Byakuya, you really brought Nimura and Rize out of the Sunlit Garden" Yoshitoki remarked, with a hint of surprise. "You know the rules better than anyone. The children there are not allowed to leave until they reach a certain level of strength or age. From now on, you're entirely responsible for them"

From Yoshitoki's perspective, Byakuya was unaware of Nimura and Size's true identities. Thus, he used the garden's strict rules to caution him.

"I understand" Byakuya replied calmly.

"Good. As long as you're aware" Yoshitoki said, nodding. "Also, make sure that Nimura and Rize's activities are confined to the 1st Ward. Avoid taking them to isolated alleys where ghouls are likely to appear."

The 1st Ward was home to the headquarters of the CCG, the Sunlit Garden, the V, and even the Washuu clan stronghold. However, it was also a dangerous area heavily populated by ghouls.

To put it bluntly, only the human members of the CCG were truly fighting against ghouls.

The Washuu clan, being ghouls themselves, prioritized their own interests. The Sunlit Garden and the V, both under the Washuu's control, simply followed the clan's directives. Completely eradicating ghouls from the 1st Ward was not in the clan's best interest. They sought a carefully balanced conflict between humans and ghouls.

"There's nothing else to emphasize. I'll arrange for someone to return them to the darden later" Yoshitoki concluded, keeping his warnings minimal to avoid raising suspicions.

Afterward, Byakuya spent the day walking around the 1st Ward with Nimura and Rize, letting them experience the outside world.

By late afternoon, Byakuya began a training session with them. It was mostly for show and involved only light practice.

At a CCG training ground, Byakuya and Nimura each held wooden swords, preparing for a sparring match.

"Wow, we're lucky to witness Special Investigator Byakuya sparring in person!" one investigator exclaimed.

"But I didn't expect his opponent to be a kid. Could this be his disciple?" another speculated.

"No, I heard that's his younger brother" someone chimed in.

"Really? I thought it was his son!" another investigator added, shocked. "He's so young, yet he already has children?"

Rumors about Byakuya had been spreading wildly since he appeared at the CCG headquarters with Nimura and Rize. Some were so exaggerated that even Byakuya himself was baffled at the suggestion that Nimura was his child.

Ignoring the chatter, Byakuya focused on Nimura. "Nimura, attack me" he said.

Nimura nodded seriously, gripping his wooden sword tightly. Despite the match being a spar, he approached it with utmost determination.

Nimura dashed forward with astonishing speed, drawing gasps from the onlookers. For a boy barely in his teens, his speed outmatched many seasoned investigators.

"Not fast enough" Byakuya commented lightly, effortlessly sidestepping Nimura's strike.

Nimura pressed on, refusing to give up. As they sparred, Byakuya critiqued him continuously:

"Your strength needs improvement"

"That strike had potential, but your angle was off"

"Your stamina is nearly depleted. You'll need to work on endurance"

As Byakuya had observed, Nimura was drenched in sweat and panting heavily. He had been giving it his all since the start, but his efforts barely fazed Byakuya. The older investigator either parried Nimura's strikes with ease or dodged them entirely.

"This kid is incredible, yet he's still being completely dominated by Special Investigator Byakuya" one observer muttered.

"That's why he's the youngest to ever be promoted to Special Investigator" another added. "And to think this boy might inherit Byakuya's talent — he's already extraordinary for his age!"

Meanwhile, Nimura, though exhausted, refused to give up. But in an unguarded moment, he suddenly felt the tip of Byakuya's wooden sword resting against his neck.

"Nimura, you've lost" Byakuya declared.

Reluctantly, Nimura admitted defeat, looking visibly disappointed. Sensing this, Byakuya offered encouragement: "You did very well. Don't feel disheartened. You have every reason to be confident."

He wasn't merely being kind — Nimura's performance had indeed been remarkable. Byakuya, however, had held a distinct advantage, especially with his sharingan.

"Understood!" Nimura's mood brightened instantly, buoyed by Byakuya's approval.

Meanwhile, Rize sat off to the side, uninterested in training. She had only briefly watched the sparring before returning to her own thoughts.

At that moment, a CCG investigator rushed in.

"Investigator Byakuya, there's a woman outside claiming to be your wife" he reported.

"Her name?" Byakuya asked, his expression calm.

He already had a good idea of who it might be.

"She introduced herself as Uchiha Eto" the investigator replied.
