Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world

Chapter 179: Watching anime

The late afternoon sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, golden glow across the quiet Academy dorms.

Standing in front of Dhayun's dorm room, he raised his hand, hesitating for a split second before knocking on the door.

In the next second, the door opened and a punch directly fell on his gut.

"You damn fucking bastard!"

"Urgh…" Brandon grunted, his hand instinctively flying to his stomach as he took a step back, doubling over slightly.

Han Dhayun stood in the doorway, her hair pulled into a messy bun, strands falling loose to frame her flushed, scowling face.

She wore a loose, faded t-shirt with a pixelated anime character printed on it, the hem hanging low over a pair of well-worn shorts that showed off her legs.

Her bare feet tapped impatiently against the floor, and her arms were crossed tightly over her chest.

"Dhayun…" Brandon started, his voice a little hoarse as he rubbed his stomach, his lips curling into a sheepish smile despite the ache.

"I called you yesterday," She took a step closer, her hands dropping to her hips as she glared up at him.

"And you're only showing up now? What, were you too busy with your new life to bother answering me?"

"I'm sorry, Dhayun," he said, his voice softening. "I'm here now, aren't I?"

She let out a huff, blowing a loose strand of hair out of her eyes, and crossed her arms again, as if trying to hold onto her anger.

"You think showing up a day late with that dumb grin is gonna make it okay?"

She leaned against the doorframe, "You're lucky I didn't slam the door in your fucking face."

Brandon let out a chuckle "Yeah, lucky me,"

She stepped back into the dorm, gesturing for him to follow with a tilt of her head "Get in here. You're not off the hook yet."

Brandon followed her inside and closed the door behind him as he stepped into the small, cozy space.

The dorm was unmistakably Dhayun's... posters of her favorite anime adorned the walls, a shelf overflowed with manga volumes and figurines, and the faint scent of tea lingered from a mug on the desk.

The Blu-ray cases she'd bragged about were neatly arranged, their spines gleaming in the light filtering through the window.

A small couch sat against one wall, piled with colorful cushions, and a TV was mounted opposite.

Dhayun flopped onto the couch, grabbing a cushion and hugging it to her chest as she fixed him with a pointed look. "So, what was so important that you ghosted me? Spill it."

Brandon leaned against the desk, "I got back home just yesterday from Japan, and things just… piled up. I should've called you back. My bad."

Dhayun let out a soft sigh "I see... You're still a jerk for making me wait, you know,"

She stood up from the couch and crossed the room to a small cabinet near the mini fridge while Brandon took his seat on the couch.

Dhayun rummaged through it, pulling out a bag of popcorn, snacks, a couple of cans of soda, and a pack of colorful gummy candies.

She balanced the snacks in her arms, tossing a can of soda to Brandon, who caught it easily.

"Don't drink it all before we start," she warned as she carried the bowl and candies back to the couch.

She plopped down beside him, closer this time, her knee brushing against his as she set the snacks on the small coffee table in front of them.

The TV screen glowed with the menu of the Blu-ray and the familiar opening theme of their old favorite anime filled the room with a nostalgic feeling.

He shifted on the couch, wrapping an arm around Dhayun's shoulders and pulling her closer.

She fit against him easily, her body relaxing into his side as she let out a soft sigh.

Her head rested against his shoulder, her messy bun tickling his neck as she reached for the remote, pressing play to start the first season.

Brandon felt a wave of nostalgia wash over him as the memories of middle school nights, sprawled on her old living room floor, arguing over plot twists and stealing each other's snacks, came flooding back.

Dhayun nestled closer, her hand resting lightly on his thigh as she grabbed a handful of popcorn, popping a few into her mouth.

"You better stay awake this time," she murmured, her voice muffled by the popcorn.

Brandon chuckled, his arm tightening slightly around her shoulders "Sure..."

---

As the first episode ended and the next began, Dhayun tilted her head to look up at him, her eyes catching the soft glow of the TV. "You know. This feels.. very good. I missed watching dumb shows and arguing over best girls."

Brandon's heart warmed, and he squeezed her shoulder gently, "Me too. Feels like we're kids again, doesn't it?"

She nodded, her smile widening as she settled back against him, her head resting on his chest now. "Yeah,"

He smiled softly, his arm tightening around her as they sank into the couch.

---

"What? Today you are staying with her?"

Brandon nodded, his free hand absently brushing a strand of Dhayun's hair from her face "Yeah... tonight I am staying with her."

Elize's gaze narrowed slightly "Don't tell me, Kael, she is another one of those little girlfriends."

Eh? Dhayun who was near him, heard Elize voice and was embarrassed. 'W-What?'

He smiled dryly "Aunt Elize, you know Dhayun... she is like a big sister to me."

With a nod, Elize replied "I do know Dhayun and she is a good girl... but I am worried you would do something naughty."

"Pass the mobile to Dhayun, I need to talk to her."

He passed the phone to Dhayun and she panicked before taking it from his hand "A-Aunty..."

"Dhayun, It's been a while... since I last saw you. How is your mother doing?"

Dhayun smiled as she leaned back against the couch, tucking her legs under her "She is doing very good, Aunty."

"She's still running the bakery, keeping everyone in town well-fed with her pastries. You should visit sometime, she'd love to see you."

With a chuckle, Elize replied "Hmm, I am surprised she let you be an awakener, considering she was very protective of you."

Dhayun scratched her neck "Well, Aunty I pleaded with her and somehow got her to accept it."

"Took months of convincing, showing her I could handle it. She finally caved, but only after I promised to call her every week and not do anything 'too reckless.'"

Elize replied "You have always been a smart child, even in middle school. I am sure you will become great.. also I am leaving my Kael in your hands now; don't let him be naughty."

Nodding her head, Dhayun replied "Don't worry Aunty, I will take good care of him. My fist is ready for him if he tries to do something."

Elize laughed upon hearing this "That's my girl. Now pass the phone back to him."

Getting the phone, Brandon smiled "Aunt Elize.."

"Don't stay up all night watching those cartoons, get some rest."

"They're anime, Aunt Elize,"

"Yeah, that... good night."

"Mhm, good night."

---

Brandon and Dhayun were walking through the dorm pathway, crossing other students as they all gazed at Brandon in surprise.

He raised his head, looking at the night sky and a faint sigh escaped his lips.

They made their way to the cafeteria to get something to eat for dinner.

Dhayun led the way as she headed for the stairs to the upper level, more upscale section of the cafeteria known as the "rich and noble" area, reserved for students with premium meal plans or connections.

As they reached the top of the stairs, Brandon's eyes scanned the room, and his gaze landed on a familiar figure seated in a corner booth.

Brandon's face lit up, a warm smile spreading across his lips as he stepped toward her. "Sister Yve…"

Dhayun froze and her eyes narrowed "Huh?"

As they reached Yverine's table, Dhayun muttered "Woonie, you know this bitch?"

Brandon blinked, caught off guard by her reaction, his smile faltering as he glanced between Dhayun and Yverine.

Yverine looked up from her phone, her composed gaze meeting Dhayun's fiery stare.

Brandon gave a faint nod, "Uh, yeah, I know Sister Yve."

He glanced at Yverine "Sister Yve, this is Dhayun. Dhayun, Yverine."

Yverine set her phone down and looked at Dhayun "A pleasure..."

Dhayun's eyes narrowed further, her arms tightening across her chest as she stepped closer to Brandon, her shoulder brushing against his "So, what's the deal? You two just 'friends,' or is there something I'm missing here?"

Brandon realized that there is some conflict between the two women and replied "She is my Master's other disciple. So like, Senior Sister to me..."

Looking at Dhayun's face, Yverine muttered "Senior Sister, huh? And here I thought we are lovers.. did you forget the kiss we shared yesterday and night in bed with me."

Dhayun's eyes widened in shock and she looked at Brandon "WOONIE?"

Eh? He hurriedly shook his head "No, Dhayun.. she is joking. Come on, Sister Yve, cut it out."

Yverine lowered her gaze "So it was all a joke to you, huh... and here I thought we are dating."

Brandon gave Yverine a blank stare and she smiled slightly "Well, enough with the jokes. I am surprised you are acquainted with Dhayun."

Dhayun's lips twitched in frustration as she realized that she fell for her jokes "We go way back, bitch. I've known Woonie since middle school, even before that."

Hearing this, Yverine was quite amused "I see, that's surprising."

Shaking his head, Brandon spoke "Sister Yve, shall we have dinner together?"

"Sure, come on."

Dhayun gave Yverine a look before taking her seat opposite the table and pulled Brandon to sit beside her.

Brandon sighed in his heart 'What rivalry is between them?'
