Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Can’t Fly? Use Precipice Blades to Knock Down Rayquaza!

"So many of them!"

Charles Chen quickly took another Spicy Pepper Berry and an eggplant out of the storage ball.

First, he took a bite of the Spicy Pepper Berry. Then he peeled back the skin of the eggplant.

One look at the plump seeds and tender white flesh inside was enough for him to tell that this was a vegetable whose quality rivaled that of the Spicy Pepper Berry.

"The quality should be decent, right?" Lin Feng asked a bit uncertainly.

Even though he was confident in what he'd grown, it was his first time selling produce, and he wasn't sure how things were priced in the outside market.

"Decent? This stuff is far beyond decent! It's practically treasure-grade produce. If you eat this regularly, it can improve your overall physical health!" Charles Chen exclaimed.

Lin Feng rubbed his hands together in anticipation. "So… what do you think, Uncle Charles?"

"I'll buy it. I'll buy it all. I'll take the Spicy Pepper Berries at the price of an E-grade treasure fifty yuan per jin! The rest should fetch a similar price."

Are you kidding me?

Produce like this, which is good for both humans and Pokémon, would sell like hotcakes with the right price control and a little advertising.

Besides-

The rarer something is, the more valuable it becomes.

And produce of this caliber wasn't something just any plantation could grow.

As far as he knew, the only other place in the entire Wutong City area producing rated ingredients was that ranch in Huaqiao Village that raised Miltank and produced the sweet, fresh Grade D Moomoo Milk.

Other than that, no other plantation could grow fruits or vegetables of this quality.

Which meant that if the giant Wangwang Supermarket wanted to monopolize produce like this, they'd have no choice but to buy from Lin Feng!

Thinking of this, Charles Chen leaned forward urgently. "Lin Feng, this produce of yours is amazing. But Uncle Charles wants to discuss one more thing. Would you consider selling me the exclusive distribution rights for it?"

"Uh…" Lin Feng looked a little troubled.

"Don't worry. I'll pay, or we could even discuss selling me shares in your business. Anything. Just say the word!" Charles Chen's voice grew increasingly desperate.

He could hardly be blamed for losing his composure.

After all, Wangwang Supermarket had been squeezing them so hard recently that he could barely keep his business afloat. Now, he finally saw a chance to turn the tables, and he couldn't afford to let it slip away.

Off to the side, Melody Huang kept silent, knowing it wasn't her place to interfere in her husband's business negotiations.

Still, seeing how anxious he was, she couldn't help glancing at Lin Feng with pleading eyes.

Lin Feng cleared his throat, looking embarrassed. "Ahem… it's not that I don't want to. I'm just thinking… what if, in the future, you're unable to buy everything I grow? Wouldn't I be stuck if I couldn't sell to anyone else?"

"So all I can promise is that I'll always think of you first when I have produce to sell."

"Okay, okay, that's perfectly fine!"

Hearing that, Charles Chen finally relaxed, the tension leaving his face.

Lin Feng continued, "There's just… one more little thing, Uncle Charles."

Charles's anxiety returned instantly. "Go ahead, tell me."

"I'd like to put a logo on my produce, to show it's from the Next Door Breeding House." Lin Feng finally shared his idea.

Grandpa Qin had been right.

He needed to keep his eyes on the bigger picture and focus on building the Next Door Breeding House into a well-known name.

That way, more Trainers and Pokémon would hear about him…

And that would mean a steady stream of system rewards for Lin Feng!

"Phew… I thought it was something serious. That's easy. Send me the logo, and I'll handle printing and sticking it onto the products." Charles Chen thumped his chest, taking full responsibility for the task.

The two of them exchanged contact details and completed the final payment.

And after Melody Huang waved goodbye with a cheerful "Come visit us often," the minivan sped off toward Wutong City.

"Fifty thousand…"

Staring at the bank notification, Lin Feng took a deep breath before breaking into an ecstatic grin.

Over the past few years, the money his parents had left behind had slowly dwindled because of the constant expenses. As a result, Lin Feng had lived quite frugally.

But now, with just one batch of produce, he'd made fifty thousand yuan in one shot!

He'd originally thought he'd be lucky to earn a few thousand at most.

He hadn't expected the price to be this high.

And this was only the first harvest from his plantation. In a few days, there would be a second batch… and then a third…

At this rate, wealth was right around the corner!

Feeling exhilarated, he suddenly scooped up Snivy and shouted, "Hahaha! Snivy, we're rich!"

He was practically ready to plant a big kiss on Snivy's little face except he was stopped by two vines pressing firmly against his chin.

All he got in return was Snivy's look of distaste and confusion.

Wasn't this Trainer acting a little… off?

On the way home, Lin Feng gradually calmed down, rubbing his chin where Snivy's vines had blocked his mouth.

He knew that as a god-level breeder, he probably wouldn't lack money in the future.

But the future was the future. Right now was still right now.

Just a few days ago, he'd been a man hesitating over whether or not he could afford to buy a Rotom.

"Snivy?"

Snivy walked alongside him, glancing at Lin Feng with a cautious expression. It hadn't meant to hit him that hard it had barely used any force at all.

"It's fine, Snivy. I was just too excited."

Lin Feng waved his hand, signaling that he was okay.

Thanks to his "True Newbie Constitution," he didn't actually feel any pain.

But Snivy's vines had reminded him of something important: even if he was immune to Pokémon attacks physically, he definitely wasn't immune to being restrained or immobilized by them.

"Snivy…"

Snivy looked at Lin Feng's pensive face, unsure whether he was truly okay or just pretending.

After a moment's hesitation, it crept closer and gently rubbed against his pant leg. When Lin Feng glanced down, it lifted its little head and gave a soft, melodic cry.

"Snivy~"

The midday sunlight cast a gentle glow on its jade-green skin, making it look impossibly fresh and vibrant.

Lin Feng couldn't help but laugh, scooping Snivy into his arms and resting his hand on its head. "Pfft… I told you, I'm fine. Don't worry."

"Snivy~." (Alright…)

Feeling the warmth of Lin Feng's palm on its head, Snivy finally relaxed.

And secretly thought:

So… a Trainer has to be kept happy, too, huh?

"Hey, go, Rayquaza! Use Dragon Ascent!"

"Ugh, don't lose! Groudon, hit it with Precipice Blades and knock it out of the sky!"

"Ha! You idiot. How could Precipice Blades hit Rayquaza when it's flying way up there?"

"I said it can hit it, so it can! Hmph!"

Along a cobblestone path, two kids about seven or eight years old were locked in a fierce "Legendary Pokémon Battle."

One was waving around a Rayquaza plushie soaring dramatically through the air.

The other held a fierce-looking Groudon plush, brandishing it like a warrior.

Their "battle" was so intense that it swept all the dust and pebbles off the stone road.

Summer vacation had started…

There were noticeably more children around town, and the place felt far livelier than before.

Seeing this, a contented smile spread across Lin Feng's face.

"Come on, Snivy. Let's keep training. We're gonna win first place in the Baby Cup!"

He pulled out some green Energy Cubes and a few red ones

The special new batch he'd prepared after signing up for the Baby Cup.
