Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Secret-Treasure-Level Chilan Berries!

July 13th.

To Lin Feng's surprise, after just one night, several of the Chilan berries in his plantation had already ripened and turned a vibrant red.

Even more interesting was that, once mature, these berries would stop absorbing nutrients and simply hang on the branches, prolonging their shelf life significantly.

Still, it was best to pick them sooner rather than later.

Because a single Chilan berry bush didn't just produce one round of fruit. If the earlier berries weren't harvested, the weight of the new ones growing on top could eventually snap the branches a loss far outweighing any benefit.

[E-Grade Ingredient - Chilan Berry. An E-grade food ingredient grown from ordinary seeds, rich in various trace minerals, delicious in flavor, and with long-term consumption that can improve physical fitness!]

After picking a few bushes clean, Lin Feng handed one berry to the Snivy by his side, and casually tossed another into the pool.

With a graceful splash, Milotic swallowed it in one gulp.

The last berry, Lin Feng bit into himself.

As the bright red flesh burst with juice, his eyes lit up.

Any crop that reached a rated grade like this could already be used to produce Pokéblocks.

For a Pokémon breeder, it held significant value in training and nutrition.

"Yesterday, I already spoke to the company. They said they'd arrive this morning to check the quality of the produce."

After gathering the ripe fruits and vegetables into a neat pile and storing them in his storage ball, Lin Feng headed toward the town's main entrance, Snivy following alongside.

"We're finally about to earn our first paycheck!"

Looking at the fruits of his labor, Lin Feng couldn't help but feel excited.

Once his plantation ramped up production, he planned to launch the second phase of his business strategy

Promoting his breeding center's reputation!

He intended to brand every fruit and vegetable with his Neighbour's Breeding House logo.

Of course, he'd have to finalize arrangements with his distributor first.

Just then, his phone rang, interrupting his train of thought. Seeing the caller ID, his spirits lifted, and he quickly answered.

"You're already at the town gate? I'll be right there."

At the Town Gate

If Lin Feng's plantation was located at the far edge of town, bordering the wild forest, then the town gate was the only route connecting the village to Wutong City.

From here, it was just a half-hour bus ride straight into the city center.

By the time Lin Feng arrived, a delivery van was already parked at the entrance. He approached cautiously and tapped on the window.

But as the driver stepped out, Lin Feng froze.

Wasn't this Uncle Chen from back in the day?

Charles Chen blinked in surprise as he stared at the tall young man now standing before him, clearly struggling to process the fact that the boy he'd once known had grown up.

"Lin Feng?!"

Lin Feng snapped out of it and smiled, greeting him warmly. "Yes, Uncle Chen, it's me."

When he was younger, Charles Chen often drove this very same van to collect produce. Lin Feng remembered it clearly.

"My goodness, look how tall you've gotten and so handsome, too!"

At that moment, a graceful woman stepped out of the passenger seat. The sight of Lin Feng seemed to catch her off guard, and she hurried over, rising on tiptoe to ruffle his hair affectionately.

Lin Feng was indeed quite tall about 1.78 meters with a clean-cut, refined appearance. He had one of those faces that was striking at first glance yet remained pleasing the more you looked.

Lin Feng didn't resist, but instead greeted her politely. "Hello, Auntie Huang."

This was Uncle Chen's wife, Melody Huang a gentle woman who used to carry him around when he was little.

When his parents were still alive, they'd been close friends with the Chens. By every standard of propriety and affection, addressing them as elders was only right.

"Is this your Pokémon? A Snivy that's pretty nice, isn't it?" Charles Chen asked in a friendly tone.

"Snivy!"

Snivy stepped forward and nodded smartly, confirming that it belonged to Lin Feng.

"Well, isn't that well-behaved!"

Charles Chen looked genuinely surprised.

While obedient Pokémon weren't rare in the early stages of training, finding one that was so perceptive and sensible was a different story altogether.

"Alright, let's get down to business," said Melody Huang, gently nudging her husband. "Lin Feng, why didn't you choose to go to university and instead decided to become a breeder?"

"I couldn't participate in the Trainer's Battle Exam before the college entrance exams because I didn't have my first Pokémon yet. So... I figured I'd become a breeder instead."

Melody Huang frowned in slight confusion. "But you could have gone into a Pokémon breeding program at university!"

"Well, that's true…"

But what would be the point?

He was already a god-tier breeder. What would he even go to university for?

To learn new knowledge?

Or… to teach the professors instead?

It really wasn't necessary.

"Mostly, I just wanted to keep my parents' plantation running," Lin Feng said with a smile. Then he quickly pulled a Chilan berry from his storage ball. "Anyway, let's talk about business. Here's one of my vegetables, Uncle Chen take a look."

"Huh…? The color is so vibrant. Not a single sign of insect damage?"

As soon as business came up, Charles Chen's expression turned serious. Within moments, his eyes were wide with shock.

This single Chilan berry… In all his years of produce trading, he'd rarely seen fruit of such perfect shape and color.

He could hardly believe it. "You grew this yourself?"

"Yes. Although I have to give a lot of credit to this little guy here. Its Grassy Terrain seems to have some special effect on plant growth."

Lin Feng didn't hesitate to shift the credit onto Snivy.

"That's not a Chilan berry grown by any ordinary first-stage starter using Grassy Terrain," Charles Chen said, shaking his head in amazement. "Looks like your talent for cultivation is every bit as impressive as your father's."

He gave a soft sigh, then took a big bite of the Chilan berry.

The moment the ripe fruit burst in his mouth, his entire expression froze.

The berry's primary taste was spicy, but there was also a subtle sweetness and just a hint of tartness.

Yet what truly astounded Charles Chen was how, as the flavor spread through his mouth, he felt his entire spirit and energy ignite.

This berry wasn't just beautiful on the outside.

It held remarkable properties as well.

Which meant… this Chilan berry wasn't merely an ordinary crop anymore.

Devouring the rest of the berry in just a few bites, Charles Chen swallowed hard, then blurted, "Is it just that one berry that's like this, or are all your Chilan berries the same?"

"They're all like this," Lin Feng replied firmly. "And here's this harvest's entire batch. There's eggplant, Chilan berries, wuqing greens… All pretty much the same quality."

He handed over the storage ball.

Charles Chen took it, checked the contents, wiped his eyes as though he couldn't believe them, and then a wild joy burst across his face.

"This… this is incredible!"
