Genshin Impact: Selling Pokemons in Teyvat

Chapter 21: Chapter 21

"There are actually this many?"

Xingqiu's eyes widened in pleasant surprise. Knowing so much was truly an unexpected delight.

"Are all Pokémon as expensive as Larvitar?"

One hundred million Mora might be nothing to Ningguang, but for the Feiyun Commerce Guild, it was no small sum.

Li Pan chuckled lightly. "Of course not. Larvitar is special. Out of the 905 Pokémon, only nine are of this caliber. Though they are mortal beings, they can touch the realm of gods, which is why they're called pseudo-legendaries."

As Li Pan spoke, Xingqiu's jaw dropped further and further.

He could hardly believe what he was hearing.

Mortal beings touching the realm of gods? Could such creatures truly exist?

Instinctively, he didn't want to believe it.

As a citizen of Liyue, where gods walked among mortals, the word "god" held a special place in his heart.

Yet today, Li Pan was claiming that the pets he sold could touch the realm of gods?!

But the fact that Ningguang spent a hundred million Mora on a Larvitar couldn't be faked.

After a moment, Xingqiu shook his head vigorously, forcing himself to refocus.

"Mr. Li, could you elaborate on the types of pseudo-legendaries?"

When it came to species with potential rivaling gods, every bit of information was crucial.

"Of course. Currently, there are nine known pseudo-legendaries: Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp, Hydreigon, Goodra, Kommo-o, and Dragapult."

Xingqiu's expression turned slightly odd.

"Boss, isn't there a bit too much 'dragon' in these pseudo-legendaries?"

Out of the nine, five had "dragon" in their names.

Li Pan spread his hands and smiled helplessly.

"What can I do, Mr. Xingqiu? Dragon-type Pokémon are synonymous with power."

This wasn't just Li Pan talking nonsense.

The Dragon-type was uniquely exceptional.

Every dragon was a natural elemental shield, resistant to water, fire, grass, and electric attacks.

Plus, most Dragon-type Pokémon had formidable physical strength, which is why they were considered the epitome of power.

Xingqiu nodded, accepting Li Pan's explanation, and memorized the names of the nine pseudo-legendaries.

But soon, he noticed something amiss—Ningguang's Larvitar wasn't among them.

"Mr. Li, why isn't Lady Ningguang's Larvitar among these nine pseudo-legendaries?"

"Larvitar is the initial form of Tyranitar. Every pseudo-legendary reaches its final form after two evolutions."

Hearing this, Xingqiu finally understood.

"So, customer, would you like to try your luck with a draw?"

Seeing Xingqiu's interest, Li Pan seized the opportunity, casting a mischievous glance at Xingqiu's wallet.

Xingqiu was surprised. "I can also draw a Pokémon?"

"Of course. Everyone can draw Pokémon here. Each person gets five chances a day, with the first one being free. After that, it's ten thousand Mora per draw."

Li Pan handed the Pokédex to Xingqiu.

Xingqiu examined it. "Do I just press here?" As he spoke, he pressed the draw button.

The screen's images began to spin, finally landing on a blue figure.

"Boss, what Pokémon is this? How's its potential?"

Li Pan leaned over and saw a small otter with a blue body, a white head, and a shell on its belly.

"You're quite lucky, customer. This Pokémon is called Oshawott, one of the Water-type starters from the Unova region. Its potential is excellent, making it one of the best choices for beginners."

After hearing Li Pan's explanation, Xingqiu's eyes lit up.

"Boss, I'll take this one. Can I see the little guy first?"

Li Pan nodded, went into the shop, and soon returned with a stern-looking Oshawott, its gaze sharp.

The moment Xingqiu saw Oshawott, his eyes were glued to it.

In this Oshawott, he saw a kindred spirit—a shared sense of chivalry!

Xingqiu slowly approached Oshawott, who coldly assessed him, its right hand subtly resting on the shell at its belly, its sword!

"Oshawott's final evolution is called Samurott, one of the few Pokémon capable of learning the move Sacred Sword, a skill said to have been created by three legendary swordsmen who roamed the land righting wrongs."

Li Pan's words flowed like a gentle stream into Xingqiu's ears, causing his eyes to widen and his breath to quicken. Every word struck a deep chord within him.

He slowly extended his hand toward Oshawott. "Oshawott, I can sense the longing in your gaze. You, too, yearn for a life of chivalry, don't you? Follow me, and together, we'll right the injustices of the world!"

Oshawott stared at Xingqiu for a moment, making him nervous, before finally placing its hand in his.

Instantly, an indescribable excitement surged through Xingqiu's heart.

"I've caught Oshawott!"

Xingqiu didn't know why he said it, but the emotions overwhelmed him, and the words spilled out.

"That'll be 520,000 Mora, customer. Please pay over here. Also, here's your Poké Ball and Pokédex. Take care of them."

With another sale completed, Li Pan felt a sense of joy, knowing he was one step closer to his goal of popularizing Pokémon across Teyvat.

And Xingqiu, true to his status as the second young master of the Feiyun Commerce Guild, paid without hesitation. Soon, a servant arrived with the Mora.

For a pseudo-legendary, Xingqiu might have hesitated, but 520,000 Mora? Pocket change.

After Xingqiu left, Li Pan called Landorus, who had been observing the crops in the backyard.

"Landorus, let's go out for a meal today. Any good places you'd recommend?"

Li Pan patted Landorus on the shoulder, smiling.

Money wasn't an issue, he'd made so many sales that he was now quite wealthy.

He still didn't understand why the system required Mora payments, as nothing had happened after the transactions, leaving him with a pile of Mora.

"Oh? You're actually thinking of going out? I thought you'd stay in the shop until you grew mold."

Landorus feigned surprise, its teasing tone making Li Pan's brow twitch.

"Do you really think I'm that much of a homebody?!"

Li Pan asked fiercely, though he had to admit that since arriving in this world, he hadn't left the shop once, relying on Landorus to bring him takeout. But that didn't mean he was a homebody… right?

As he thought this, his tone wavered slightly.

"Huh? You're not?" Landorus looked genuinely shocked, its expression only fueling Li Pan's irritation.

"You… never mind. I'm kind, generous and forgiving and won't argue with you. Just tell me where to eat."

With money to spare, it was time to spend it. What was the point of earning it otherwise?

"Let's go to Wanmin Restaurant. The food there is really good."

Unlike Li Pan, Landorus had spent the past few days exploring all of Liyue Harbor. By now, the entire city knew that a being named Landorus, suspected to be an adeptus, was living at Pokémon Home.
