Chapter 46: The Century-Old Question: What Are The Advantages of Lei's ?
"Talking about his opinion of me?"
Lei Dianying, who had been daydreaming, snapped back to attention. She was curious to hear what Su Ran thought of her.
"Stubborn? Simple? Simple-minded and with underdeveloped limbs?"
Su Ran really seemed to pick apart a few possible advantages, but when it came to Ying, it seemed impossible to think of any.
Lei Dianying's hands trembled as she heard his words. She was tempted to grab a sword and slice something. It was one thing to call her not-so-smart, but to claim she wasn't strong enough? As a warrior, that was the most insulting comment she could receive.
Even if Morax himself came, she could fight him. What gave Su Ran the right to say she was physically lacking?
"Then... what about the advantages?" she asked, feeling a bit defeated. Surely, it wasn't all negative, right? If even her strength was in question, what did Su Ran see as her strengths?
Lei Dianying was genuinely speechless. Could her sister really be that bad in his eyes? If it weren't for Ying, Inazuma wouldn't belong to the two sisters. Even though Zhen was the internal ruler and Ying the external one, during the Demon God War, it was ultimately top-tier combat power that decided victory.
Without that strength, no matter how well-governed her people were, she would still have been a loser. Not every demon god was willing to relinquish their throne. In fact, most of them fought tooth and nail to keep it.
It was precisely because of this that in Raiden Zhen's eyes, her sister's early achievements were nothing to scoff at. That's why people praised Raiden's martial prowess, rather than her governance.
Such a powerful fighter like Ying—did she really have no advantages?
"Is she as good-looking as you?" Su Ran asked with a smirk.
Judging by his own standards, Su Ran couldn't think of many strengths for Ying. In his view, being a strong fighter was a given. But no matter how well she could fight, could she defeat a Star God? Or even an envoy of the Star Gods?
Obviously not. Even the general's strength was comparable to hers. The gap between her and himself was even greater. Su Ran wasn't claiming to be the strongest of the Order Envoys, but he knew not all of them could suppress him either.
After all, before becoming an Order Envoy, he had already taken steps to evolve his body. While it wasn't at the level of a true Ultraman, it far surpassed the demon gods in this world. Based on this alone, Su Ran had already outclassed most Order Envoys.
Order Envoys gained their powers by being glanced at by the Star God, but they hadn't undergone true evolution. To put it bluntly, they were glass cannons—powerful, but not indestructible.
Of course, this didn't apply to Cunhu or Fengyu, who were truly hard to kill.
From Su Ran's perspective, Ying's strength might surpass most Fate Walkers, but she was still far from touching the level of an Order Envoy. While some were fragile, she couldn't guarantee she could hurt them. Otherwise, he would have taken her to Azure Star to test her against the Black Tower.
After all, if Su Ran was ranked #85, then the Black Tower, ranked #83, certainly existed.
So, in the end, he couldn't brag about Ying's strength.
"What are you thinking about?" Raiden Zhen asked, noticing his distraction.
"Are you thinking about both sisters sitting down to dinner together?"
"I'm thinking, should I have Heita train Ying?" Su Ran mused aloud.
"Heita? Who's that?" Raiden Zhen asked, furrowing her brow in confusion. She had never heard of anyone by that name in Teyvat, and the name didn't sound feminine.
"I've never met her, but she's a genius even more famous than me," Su Ran admitted.
Though he was a member of the Genius Club, Heita had a long-established reputation.
"Is she stronger than you?" Raiden Zhen's eyes lit up, intrigued by the possibility.
"Not necessarily. In terms of talent, I think I can suppress her. I have a 'cheat,' and strength-wise, we're probably on the same level. After all, we're both intellectual envoys. She might have more experience, but I'm confident my physical strength surpasses hers."
This had even been certified by Bo Shi Zun. Not even the Star God could grasp the concept of life the way Su Ran could. That alone made him stronger than Heita, a mere human.
"Then why have her train Ying?" Raiden Zhen asked, glancing at her sister.
If Heita was indeed stronger, it made sense. But if she wasn't, wouldn't it be better for Su Ran to personally train Ying? After all, they were family.
"Because Heita has a bad personality. That might be just what Ying needs to learn a few lessons and develop some advantages."
Raiden Zhen was baffled. "What kind of logic is that?" she wondered. Since when did Ying need someone to "create" advantages for her?
"What advantages do you see in Ying?" she asked skeptically.
"Maybe we could turn her into the perfect 'wife and mother' type?" Su Ran suggested playfully.
"Really?" Raiden Zhen was tempted by the thought. Ying—who was even capable of stealing a gift meant for a child—could actually become a good wife and mother? That would be great news.
"Not sure," Su Ran replied with a grin.
"..."
Raiden Zhen was speechless. "Are you teasing me?" she thought, feeling utterly disappointed.
"So you've been spouting nonsense all this time?" she asked, exasperated.
"But I do want to help Ying develop some advantages," Su Ran replied earnestly, casting a serious glance at the clueless Ying.
Liyue's Rock God was wise, humble, and had a great character. But what about Ying? Other than being a woman, there wasn't much else that stood out.
"Zhen! Can I cut him with a knife?" Ying asked, finally losing her patience.
"Family conflicts are not allowed!" Raiden Zhen intervened, shielding her forehead as she stopped Ying from attacking.
"Family conflicts?" Ying repeated, momentarily stunned, even setting aside her desire to slice Su Ran. Meanwhile, Kamisato Ayaka looked around, confused.
What did Raiden Zhen mean by "family conflicts"? Was Su Ran related to the Thunder Gods by blood?
"Although Ying has her faults," Su Ran said, sighing theatrically, "I suppose I'll tolerate them since my sister asked."
From the moment they started playing chess, Su Ran had sensed that Raiden Zhen wanted to "pawn off" Ying to him. But he couldn't overlook her flaws. Still, Su Ran was confident in his abilities.
It didn't matter if his wife was just a pretty vase. Even if she wasn't a great cook, she could practice, right? After all, Raiden Mei wasn't great at cooking at first, but she eventually became skilled.
"Su Ran… what are you even talking about?" Raiden Zhen asked, exasperated.
