Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 274: 274. Go to Zheng City?

Dad Liu hurriedly shook his head and looked up at Liu Wan. "Just say that you live in the community building. Don't you usually not know anyone? You live on the first floor, and the neighbors don't communicate with each other, right?"

"Dad, we all know each other, but our schedules are different, so we don't have much chance to get to know each other.

The city is different from our village. We basically live in our own way and are less concerned with others.

If something happens in the village, the whole place knows about it by the next day. There's no privacy at all!"

Liu Wan couldn't help but complain.

This isn't exactly a good thing about rural areas. Everyone knows everyone else. The entire village can quickly learn what's going on in someone's family. After that, many people gossip and laugh behind others' backs.

Jason Liu understood this very well.

Before he graduated from college, he had worked for two years and still had accomplished nothing. He didn't even have a girlfriend when he came home for the New Year. Many people in the village laughed, ridiculed him, and said it was useless to go to college.

Hearing these words, Liu's father and mother were, of course, very angry, but there was no way to refute them. They could only grit their teeth and pretend not to hear, though they were both worried and anxious. It served as a kind of reminder.

As a result, he never returned to the village except for the Spring Festival.

First, he had accomplished nothing and was embarrassed to go back.

Second, the strange looks from the villagers were sometimes really uncomfortable. As an introvert, he was very sensitive to others' opinions.

Third, Liu's mother always urged him to find a partner. Otherwise, she'd arrange a blind date for him, which was exhausting.

In short, during the two years after graduation, he had really been miserable!

Fortunately, now that he could travel between two worlds, he had made money, developed, bought a car, a house, and even had a girlfriend.

Now when he came back, he didn't have to worry about anything.

"Dad, Mom, this time you'll go to the villa in City with me and stay for a while. Let your son honor you!"

Jason Liu said with a smile, "Otherwise, I'd be living in a big-city villa while letting my parents stay in a slum in our hometown. People who don't know the situation would think I'm unfilial!"

"Yeah, Dad, Mom, just go and stay with him. Otherwise, if people ask you in the future and say your son is rich, what kind of wealth does he have? If you can't explain it, how can you show it off to others, right?" Liu Wan winked at her mother and laughed.

"What nonsense, who wants to show off?" Blushed from being teased, Mama Liu glared at Liu Wan.

"Mmm, my sister is right. I just want to take you to the villa I bought and show you the company I started. That way, you'll feel more at ease. And when you talk to others in the future, won't you feel more confident?" Jason Liu urged.

Hearing this, Liu's mother was very touched and turned to look at Liu's father.

Dad Liu hesitated for a while but also felt that his son had a point.

After all, in just half a year, his son had earned tens of millions, bought a car and a villa, and given them hundreds of thousands on their bank card.

Everything had happened so fast that Dad Liu still felt it was a little unreal. He even suspected his son might be doing something illegal.

If he could follow him to City and see for himself what Jason was doing, he'd feel much more relieved.

At least when he talked about his son with others, he wouldn't be second-guessing himself.

"Dad, Mom, I think Jason is right. Anyway, there's nothing to do at home. You can go live in City for a few days and see the house Jason bought and the company he runs. Maybe you'll even meet his girlfriend!"

Lucas finally found an opportunity to chime into the Liu family's internal discussion.

The thought of seeing who her son was dating immediately excited Mama Liu even more.

"Victor, why don't we go live in Zheng City for a few days?" Mama Liu looked at Dad Liu and asked.

Holding a wine glass, Dad Liu looked at his son. "If your mother and I go, it won't affect your work, will it?"

"It's fine. I'm the boss. The employees take care of the daily tasks. I just read the reports and sign them myself. It won't delay anything!"

Jason Liu shook his head, then looked at his sister and brother-in-law. "Sister, brother-in-law, your family should come too. You can see the career I've built, so you won't think I'm just talking big.

You can also accompany our parents and have a good time. I'm afraid once they get to the villa, they won't even want to go out."

Liu Wan thought it over. Her parents had basically stayed in the village all their lives. They had never gone far, and they were too shy to travel.

"Okay, we'll go too. It's a good chance to spend time with Mom, Dad, and the kids and Lucas in City for a few days!"

Liu Wan quickly made up her mind and looked at her husband, Lucas, who was sitting beside her. " Lucas, what do you think?"

"Well, Liu Wan, it's your call.

I'll just take a few days off.

Let's go to City and have some fun for a few days!"

Lucas nodded right away and planned to take leave when he got back.

Anyway, his small department was busy every day. He might as well go out and relax for a few days.

That afternoon, no one went out. They just sat in the yard, watching the two kids run and play. After neighbors learned that Mr. Liu's son had become successful, many started walking over to Jason Liu's house.

Suddenly, there were lots of villagers in the small courtyard. They were asking about Jason Liu's company . Many had relatives looking for jobs and hoped to join Jason's company.

Yes, compared to online recruitment, villagers still trusted jobs introduced by acquaintances.

Jason Liu kept a smile on his face. Regarding the neighbors' requests to place their relatives in his company, he simply responded that they could apply during future recruitment.

Whether they got hired or not would depend on their abilities.

No one in the village was dissatisfied. After all, Jason Liu wasn't obligated to solve everyone's job problems. Just offering a chance to apply was already generous.

At least, Jason Liu's modest attitude was appreciated by the villagers.
