Gaia Chronicles: The Integral Saga

Chapter 175: The Royal Feast

Golden lanterns swayed in the warm breeze above the Grand Ceremonial Hall, as Gaia's culinary extravaganza came to its finale: The Royal Feast. Knights, nobles, Octagram members, and Gaia's staff had gathered in formal attire—crystal glasses clinked, laughter filled the air, and finely dressed servers moved between lavish banquet tables.

This wasn't just a meal—it was a symbol of unity. After two days of events, the 31 Integral Knights had finally come together, side-by-side.

At the head of the golden banquet hall sat King Leonardo Serfort Granhart XI, elegant in white and gold robes, lifting his chalice.

"Tonight, we celebrate not war nor victory, but the joy of living, of art, and of those who protect this world."

🌟 The Knights Assemble

Thea Synthesis 0 stood first, her voice regal.

"We thank you, Your Majesty. For this peace, however brief, is hard-won—and well-deserved."

Astron 1, beside her, said quietly, "I'm not used to noise, but… it's oddly comforting."

Julius 2, grinning from ear to ear, raised a mug. "Let's toast to flavor explosions!"

Irene 3 smiled maternally. "Don't overdo it, Julius."

Diane 4, stoic, nodded. "I've never seen morale this high. It's good."

Wang Han 5, plate piled high, laughed. "These pork ribs are a battlefield!"

Aria 6, elegant and poised, offered chilled dumplings. "Cyg, you might appreciate these. I kept the temperature precise."

Elaine 7, cheerful, passed pastries. "I hope everyone got some wind tarts!"

Raika 8, tossing meat into her mouth, grinned. "Who cares about etiquette? This is heaven!"

Alice 9, with a serene nod, sipped wine. "I predicted a peaceful night. I'm pleased I was right."

💬 Cyg and the Core Girls

Cyg sat silently with his usual glass of cold tea, surrounded—almost overwhelmed—by attention.

Sylvia 12 leaned in, her fingers playing with her fork. "Do you like the duet I composed earlier? I used your heartbeat rhythm as inspiration."

Cyg blinked. "...Unsettling. But accurate."

Harriet 10, next to him, playfully elbowed him. "Don't act cool! You watched my spicy beef showdown earlier!"

"You sweated," Cyg replied. "That confirmed its spice level."

Eun-Ha 15, elegant and distant, passed him a small roll. "For the effort earlier. Your presence helped… stabilize me."

Mia 18, her hair braided in colorful bands, lit up. "I made a dessert with glowing syrup. Want to guess the ether combo?"

Charlotte 28 practically sparkled. "I rebuilt an entire dish-plating machine for tonight's display! I call it: Mecha-Feast 4.0."

Hikari 26, unusually dressed up, stayed quiet beside Cyg. She eventually whispered, "Thank you… for coming."

Cyg tilted his head. "Why do you all surround me at once?"

Elaine giggled from across the room. "That's just our orbit now, isn't it?"

🧬 Supporting Knights Join In

Ali 13, sturdy and steady, chuckled. "Let the kids talk. I'm just here for the roast boar."

Iris 14, serene, offered a prayer before her meal. "Peace like this is a blessing. We must remember that."

Tryce 16 observed the buffet. "Hm. Efficient distribution. Well-executed layout."

Lionel 17, relaxed in a floral shirt, raised his glass. "To food that doesn't fight back!"

Shin 19 smirked. "Speak for yourself. These oysters were an illusion—completely gone when I turned around."

Joseph 20, calm, muttered, "Try chewing slower."

Gram 21 shoved a kebab into his mouth. "I didn't know food could be this fun!"

Lucas 22 nodded. "It's rare to see everyone this at ease. I'm grateful."

Aulus 23, silently eating, nodded once.

Lugh 24, sipping a mysterious wine, grinned. "Anyone want to play 'guess that sauce?'"

Sophia 25, analyzing plates, scribbled notes. "The gravitational plating on that pork belly… intriguing."

Raul 27, loud as ever, banged the table. "Who wants to do a pepper-eating contest?!"

Zayne 29 and Zaria 30, the twin tail-end Knights, stood by the punch bowl.

"Zaria," Zayne grinned, "remind me—who said we'd never fit in?"

Zaria smiled softly. "Not me."

🍷 A Toast from the King

The hall dimmed, and King Leonardo rose.

"You are Gaia's shield. And tonight, you are its joy. Eat, drink, fall in love, if you must—so long as you live. Because tomorrow, my children… we fight again."

Glasses clinked. Laughter erupted. Even Cyg, uncharacteristically, gave a small smile.
